Why did you select to be a part of Indian Idol 6?
It is a large show, a well-liked one too. I USED TO BE offered it, so I took it up. It was so simple as that. I consider this my work.
What will you search for in a singer while judging the show?
Sur (pitch of the voice) can be my prime focus. Pitching have to be correct. Also the voice should be sweet. Rhythm may be required. The language wherein the individual is singing the song, with the right kind pronunciation, must be correct too. But sur is of maximum priority.
The tagline of the show this time is ‘Behind every idol there are lots of other idols’. Who's your idol?
My dad was my idol. I learned so much from him about sargam, raag and sur. I regret that I couldn’t learn much as he passed on to the great beyond very early in my life. Later in my career, I met many accomplished and talented music composers who taught me so much about honing my singing skills.
Indian adaptation of 24 keeping me busy: Anil Kapoor

As his US TV show 24 is getting an Indian adaptation, actor Anil Kapoor says he's busy with the team in putting together infrastructure and logistics for the show.
Anil, who made a cameo appearance within the original series because the head of a fictitious Islamic nation, said he's involved in
every little bit of the show's production. "I'M totally involved with the team that is putting together 24. Right from it's planning to its pre-production, I'VE totally immersed myself into it. In spite of everything I'M a producer's son; being involved comes naturally to me."
"Even in my earlier years once I was acting for my home productions like Mr India, Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, Loafer or Judaai, I USED TO BE always within the know-how of what was happening at the ground. I HAVE NEVER let burst off that trait," Anil told PTI.
The 52-year-old will next be seen in Ekta Kapoor's production Shootout At Wadala, directed by Sanjay Gupta. The film also stars John Abraham, Kangna Ranaut, Tusshar Kapoor and Sonu Sood.
Anil is all praises for the brand new breed of filmmakers saying that they understand the taste of the audience and deliver top quality cinema. "Ekta, Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra are the type of individuals who make our industry. Ekta is so hungry for good work; she could be very hardworking and passionate. You want such people because they understand the industry is functioning so well. They understand how to deliver prime quality cinema. Because of this when a possibility like Shootout at Wadala came my way, I went right into it. I USED TO BE sure that this may be a proper combination," said Anil, who has begun shooting for the film.
TV show CID could soon be a movie

Indian television's longest running detective show CID might soon be a film, says producer B.P. Singh, promising more action, a novel storyline and different styling with the similar cast. "THERE'LL BE a movie on CID with the similar cast, but one main villian could be from outside," Singh
told IANS, adding that he was unsure in regards to the time frame.
Launched Jan 21, 1998, on Sony, CID has to this point aired greater than 615 cases in over 824 episodes.
Shivaji Satam plays ACP Pradyuman, while Aditya Shrivastav, Dayanand Shetty, Dinesh Phadnis, Vivek V. Mashru, Hrishikesh Pandey, Narendra Gupta and Shraddha Musale are the $64000 members of his team.
"The cast would be the same, but there'll be additional cast for villains. We have to see who we will afford. There'll be outstanding action scenes to make it different. The story, treatment action should look different from our regular episodes. We have to present a narrative that may be remarkable and unique and different from the regular CID," he said.
"Theoretically, it is going to start by the tip of this year. The channel owns the rights...Even if the channel says yes today, we'd be able to start early next year," Singh added.
It would be the third TV show after Office Office and Khichdi to be converted right into a movie.
According to Singh, showing relevant content was a challenge.
"The most difficult part is the best way to keep pace with changing scenarios. In 15 years, the television viewership has changed completely, people have grown up but they're still watching our show. After we are writing, we attempt to include modern ideas and situations that folks can connect with easily.
"But the elemental has not changed. We're still making mystery. We now have reduced violence because we wish to hook up with the family audience. It's not gory or shocking."
The main attraction of CID is the way it deals with the forensic management of evidence.
"I desired to make it different. Forensic science is what persons are not conscious about and we thought we must always introduce that. From day one, an actual forensic doctor was acting in our show. Once I used to listen to forensic stories, they used to amaze me. Everyone desires to know what goes on throughout the body. We've developed and made our forensic lab more attractive over the years," he said.
"We cannot show dissection of a body on screen, and here we use lighting tricks. We use our lab as an entertainment centre. We do not give lectures. It could become very boring to provide people scientific facts. We purposely use language that may be easy to grasp. In 'CID', it's hard to search out any English word... There are individuals who feel that CID isn't intellectual enough, but we're not ashamed of it."
After directing thrillers like CID and Aahat, Singh also directed the comedy show Gutur Go on SAB TV however the focus is on crime.
"Once you get successful in something, the industry is such that you simply get that work only."
IT'S NOT THAT I AM doing any item number: Sunny Leone

Indo-Canadian adult film star Sunny Leone has denied rumours that she is doing an item song within the Kannada film Prem Adda. The 31-year-old actress, who's in Sri Lanka shotting for Jism 2, said she has no plans for doing any item number. "For the entire rumors, The one 2 movies I'M signed to shoot this year are Jism 2 and Ragini..... Nothing Else....Dont believe what you read Including, no plans for any item numbers as of yet...," she posted on Twitter.
It was reported earlier that Leone, who came to limelight in India with Bigg Boss 5, had signed to do an item number in Mahesh Babu directed film.
Post IPL win, SRK back to YRF shoot!

The IPL was won, though understandably, the Kolkata Knight Riders’ owner continues to be ecstatic. But cartwheels and victory marches later, Shah Rukh Khan is back to doing what he does best — acting. And his first project is Yash Chopra’s directorial comeback. Shah Rukh confirms, saying,
“I’m back to (shooting) Yashji’s film with a 30-day schedule. We’ve already finished numerous work in a single of the sooner schedules (in London). We also had a small (shooting) stint of 4-5 days in Mumbai, and can probably shoot in Ladakh or some countryside. Mostly, though, the film is about in London.”
SRK’s co-stars within the film are Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.
With Yash Chopra’s return, do we also see Shah Rukh return to his romantic-hero avatar?
“Yes, it’s a love story. Yashji makes wonderful love stories. This one has somewhat twist. Sometimes, I THINK that even supposing Yashji made a war film, it could have elements of love,” smiles the actor, who will sport a mild stubble for a element of the film. “I’ve always played my characters differently, so I don’t know if I'LL BE the standard romantic hero”
Working with Chopra, he says, is like “working in a house (production).” The film will see him paired with Katrina Kaif for the primary time, and the actor only has words of praise for his leading lady: “I really mean it after I say I learn so much from my co-stars, personally and professionally. Someone like Katrina is totally at the ball along with her scenes and method, and it teaches me to approach a scene slightly differently.”
Prod him for more information about the film, and Shah Rukh admits to having seen and loved portions of the film that experience already been shot.
“Inshallah, it’s turning out nice. Whatever we now have shot till date may be very interesting. It’s going to be a gentle, pleasant film with numerous great humour. And it gets emotionally intense wherever a love story should be,” he says.
From the sound of it, this belongs to the genre of romances SRK is known for.
I’ll never do films just for money: Irrfan Khan

Actor Irrfan Khan, who had his first solo hit in Bollywood with Pan Singh Tomar, says he's in no hurry to sign new films.
“Big bucks can entice anyone but I don’t need to finally end up doing films only for monetary reasons,” said the 49-year-old actor adding, “When you do a movie for money, the money flow does look good however the journey can be a painful experience. I’d rather earn lower than do films where I stay frustrated and irritated at the sets.”
Talking about his ideals, the actor, who's returning with Tigmanshu Dhulia for the sequel of Sahib, Biwi Aur Gangster 2 further said, “I would rather strive for a situation where I WILL BE ABLE TO do the type of work I WILL do and become profitable for the producers and myself. That’s my goal.”
On the Hollywood front, Irrfan might be seen playing the nature of Dr Ratha within the Amazing Spider-Man that’s slated to release this summer. “Let’s see how the nature is placed within the story. There's no point talking about it now after I am yet to peer the overall cut,” said Irrfan, who can be seen in Ang Lee’s 3D film The Lifetime of Pi that releases by the top of this year.

Don't worry, he is not tying the knot but is, in fact, donning the outfit for his role within the upcoming film Barfee. Ranbir plays a deaf and mute man, though his character is that of a happy-go-lucky guy and never a tragic one.

Barfee is a romantic comedy directed by Anurag Basu and stars Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz within the lead roles. Within the film, Priyanka Chopra plays a mentally challenged girl.
The title of the film was changed from the dark Silence to the sweet-and-cute Barfee. The film will now have as many as 10-12 songs, although the hero doesn't talk or speak.
It is about to release on July 13, 2012.
Randeep Hooda hopes to provoke audience with Jism 2

Actor Randeep Hooda was busy filming cosy scenes with Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone in Sri Lanka for Jism 2, and desires their chemistry is successful in turning at the audiences. "Just finished a big lovemaking scene for @Jism2. Extreme, exhausting and exhilarating. Hope we will turn people 'on' all over the place with it," Randeep posted on Twitter.
Jism 2, a sequel to 2003 film Jism, is being directed by Pooja Bhatt. It marks Sunny's debut in Bollywood.
Rekha to be felicitated at IIFA

Bollywood diva Rekha may be honoured for her achievements in Indian cinema on the 13th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards to be held in Singapore next month. "I'M extremely humbled to be appreciated and regarded for my contributions to the film fraternity. It's been an extended journey and hopefully my passion and love for cinema will continue to achieve out to all my fans. I'M especially happy to be honoured at a time when the industry celebrates a centenary of Indian films," Rekha said in a statement.
Daughter of South Indian film stars Gemini Ganesan and Pushpavalli, Rekha made her acting debut with Hindi film Sawan Bhadon in 1970, which was followed by a string of hits like Namak Haram, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Khubsoorat, Silsila and Umrao Jaan.
Recenlty she was sworn-in as a Rajya Sabha member.
Shirin Farhad Ki... has an unusual story: Madhuri Dixit

Dancing diva Madhuri Dixit unveiled the primary look of Bela Bhansali Sehgal's directorial debut Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi and says the film's story is different and that it's going to do well. "IT'S one of these pleasure to be here today. My association with Sanjayji (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) goes back to Devdas. I'VE interacted with Belaji too. It's such an unusual story. While you recall to mind Shirin and Farhad, you're thinking that of a classic love story. But here they're two very cute characters and that i think it'll do rather well. I wish all of it the best," Madhuri, who Wednesday unveiled the primary look of the film, told reporters.
Co-produced by Eros International and Bhansali Productions, the film will see Farah Khan and Boman Irani because the lead pair.
"I wish to wish Farah and Bomanji all of the best. I had interacted with Farah during my film Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam. She was the choreographer. She is fun to work with and that i really love her work," said Madhuri.
Eros International and Bhansali Productions have co-produced the film, that is Bela's first film as a director and it also marks Farah's acting debut.
Bhansali said: "I WOULD LIKE to thank Madhuri for being here. This is a very special gesture. It is extremely difficult to make Madhuri Dixit to mention yes. I DO KNOW because I'VE undergone it. This is a very special moment for me."

Kahaani is the tale of Vidya Bagchi, played by Vidya Balan, who comes from London to Kolkata looking for her missing husband. There are several difficulties which she must face before she will be able to unravel the reality about her spouse. For one, she is 7 months pregnant and absolutely new and alone within the festive city of Kolkata. Absolutely adamant on locating her lost hubby, Vidya begins a ruthless search. That too with only fragments from her memories about him to rely on.
Every clue and lead appear to reach a dead end. Everyone she meets seem oblivious to the whereabouts of her husband and tell her husband doesn't exist. Slowly, Vidya realises that the waters are deeper than they appear. In a city steeped in lies, Vidya is hell-bent on learning the reality about her husband, although it’s for unborn child. And she’s willing to stake her own life.

So that’s the kahaani of Kahaani. Seems quite the gripper, this one. Let’s hope the tale and screenplay keep us involved enough to forget our boring drab, insipid lives. We’re quite skeptical though for Sujoy Ghosh has few notable films to his credit (Aladin, Home Delivery and Jhankar Beats).
Says Vidya Balan:
“It’s one of the vital few characters that I MAY perform with utmost ease and effortlessly because I’d joke with my friends as to how differently women walk after they are pregnant. I also tried to duplicate the best way they take deep breathes in between.”
