After her hit performance in Munni Badnaam Hui, Malaika Arora Khan has gone retro for her next item number Anarkali Disco Chali in Housefull 2. The song, choreographed by Farah Khan, will see Malaika in a see-through green and pink anarkali.
The song isn't just sensuous but in addition seems like a modernised mujra, identical to Kareena's Dil Mera Muft Ka from Agent Vinod. Within the song, Malaika seduces a merry gang of Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Boman Irani and Mithun Chakravarty as she shows off her adaas and thumkas at a mehfil.
Choreographer Farah Khan says she and Malaika Arora were under a large number of pressure while shooting for the song Anarkali Disco Chali for Housefull 2 because up to now their team have been hugely successful.
"I think Malaika and me have a track record. We've done three (hit) songs together and all three of them has been very successful, so there has been numerous pressure. The song Sajid and Nadiadwala had given was Anarkali Disco Chali, which was a unique take for either one of us," Farah had said at a promotional event for Housefull 2.
"I hope that this song keeps our track record because we have now done Chhaiyya Chhaiyya, we now have done Kaal Dhamaal and we now have done Munni. So I AM HOPING this works well," Farah added.
Malaika, meanwhile, is pretty sure that the song can be a chartbuster. "Anarkali Disco Chali is very good. It’s sexier and more modern in its feel and appear. Munni was desi and rustic,” Malaika told HT City.
Talking concerning the USP of the song, she says, “Sajid-Wajid have given excellent music and Farah has choreographed it rather well. It has all the male star cast of the film in it.”
Slated for April 5 release, Housefull 2 stars 12 actors - Akshay Kumar, Shreyas Talpade, John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Mithun Chakraborty, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Boman Irani, Zarine Khan, Asin Thottumkal, Shazahn Padamsee and Jacqueline Fernandez.
