Vidya Balan remains to be not done with basking within the dirtiness of her ‘The Dirty Picture’ and she or he continues to be adding an increasing number of feathers to her crown. Indian Vp Hamid Ansari awarded Vidya Balan with the most efficient Actress National Award, the Rajat Kamal, at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi for her bold and unmatched performance in ‘The Dirty Picture’. The development was hosted by actors Vinay Pathak and Saumya Tandon.
Vidya was accompanied by her parents. Her beau Siddharth Roy Kapur was also there to receive award for Chillar Party (Best Children’s Film) on behalf of UTV.
The audience went berseck in applauding Balan as she ascended the stage looking as graceful as ever in a rose pink-coloured Kanjeevaram saree, minimal make-up and chandelier earrings.
“I am extremely humbled. This (National Award) is the top honour for any actor, and that i feel happy and humbled and that i just wish that the team of The Dirty Picture was with me to share this moment. That is truly humbling,” Vidya Balan told reporters after receiving the award.
Among other winners, actor Sanjay Suri and director Onir received the most efficient Hindi Film prize for I AM, and Marathi actor Girish Kulkarni was this year’s Best Actor for Deool.
