Rana Daggubati is happy about his upcoming release Department, but he claims he has already got his due from the film as he got to share screen space with stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and work with director Ram Gopal Varma.
“My proudest moment at the sets was to understand that I USED TO BE taller than Mr Bachchan and Sanjay. It felt good and my dad too was very proud,” grins Rana.
“I told Ramu at the first day itself that I'VE cracked this film because I'M taller than them. They're actors I've watched for years and suddenly, I walked onto the set and noticed I USED TO BE an inch or more taller than them. Sanjay has to seem as much as say his dialogue. It was a wierd feeling, but a large kick too," he says.
Confident of Department, Rana feels, “Ramu is a master of the cops-and-gangsters genre.” Rana can also be soon seen on TV as a judge for an episode on UTV Stars’ reality show, The selected One.
He will assign tasks to the contestants and choose them on various skill sets. “The winner should be a celebrity in his own way, yet be real, friendly and familiar with celebrities.” Unwilling to expose the tasks he doled out at the show, but having appeared on Telugu reality shows previously, he added that this novel concept was fun for him.
