After introducing a fresh breed of directors, filmmaker Karan Johar is launching three new actors together with his forthcoming film Student Of The Year (SOTY) and says he's as emotional in regards to the project because the actors' parents. "The film feels different from every other film that I'VE directed
as I'VE worked with movie stars who don't want hand-holding. With these three newcomers, it was a journey like nurturing and parenting them," Karan Johar told reporters Thursday on the trailer launch of Student Of The Year.
Karan has teamed up with Mahesh Bhatt's daughter Alia Bhatt, David Dhawan's son Varun and model Siddharth Malhotra for the film.
"I am sure their parents are facing the similar emotions that i'm going through at this time. It is a very special feeling. That is something that I felt I WANTED to do. It is a very satisfying emotion," said Karan adding "that is his holiday movie".
"After My Name Is Khan, I MYSELF felt I WISHED to do something where I MYSELF have a good time. I REALLY LIKE dance, song, glamour and of course, keep the sentiments intact."
"I felt I WISHED to be on a vacation even on my creative side. And that's what I exactly did... I made them sing, dance and probably everything that I like."
Student Of The Year is slated for an Oct 19 release.
