Speculation is rife that Juhi Chawla is a BJP candidate for the Gujarat Assembly polls in December and can be pitched against Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee chief Arjun Modhwadia. BJP spokesperson Vijay Rupani said that they were contemplating fielding her from Porbandar, since her husband Jai Mehta is from the town.
The actor laughs off the thrill saying, “I don’t know the very first thing about politics. I wasn’t even within the country when this news got around. There’s no way I’m entering politics; that’s probably the most few things I’m absolutely clear about.”
Meanwhile, Juhi returns to the theatres today with animated feature film, Krishna Aur Kans, because the voice of Yashoda. “I’d never done something like this before. It was a challenge standing in a recording studio seeking to visualise a character, who’d be moulded when I was through with the dubbing. The film was delayed until Reliance Animation took it over, a few year ago. I voiced Sita’s character in Ramayana: The Epic as well,” says Juhi, who says that her children, Jahanvi and Arjun, were tickled pink once they saw bits of it. “They cribbed that I don’t speak as sweetly with them.”
Another 3D animation film, Main Krishna Hoon was also lining up for a Janmashtami release, but will now come during Dusshera. “I did that a year ago. Growing up, Krishna was my favourite God and that i feel blessed to be doing these films,” she says.
On Diwali she has a 3rd film, SOS — Son Of Sardar, bobbing up. “The film opens on November 13, that's my birthday. It’s a contented coincidence,” she says.
