Tusshar, Riteish to do a Shilpa Shetty in KSKHH

It seems that the makers of the film Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum are leaving no stone unturned so far as the film promotions are concerned. After releasing two of its tracks, 'Dil Garden Garden' and 'Shirt Da Button', Ekta Kapoor is now planning to release the third track in an overly unique manner.

If you thought that Shilpa Shetty was 'cool' within the 'Main Aayi Hun UP Bihar Lootne' song, then, Ekta is pretty sure that her film's lead stars Tusshar Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh will look supercool as they gyrate to this track on this film!

Ekta Kapoor, who has acquired the rights to remix this track, has now roped in choreographers Rekha and Chinni Prakash, for this specially created 'male version' of the track. The song is named 'Hum Toh Hain Cappuccino', whose lyrics has been penned by Kumaar, with its club-friendly music composed by the Meet Brothers. Ekta Kapoor is sparing no efforts to make the track look as lavish as possible. No wonder then, a whopping Rs. 2 crore set was erected at Film City that resembled a 'dhaba', where Tusshar and Riteish shot for the song with Sarah-Jane Dias and Neha Sharma.

In order to advertise this song, Ekta is now prepared to stroll the no-man's land. As part of the song promotion, this track might be released on Balaji's four consecutive leading prime-time soaps, making Ekta the primary person to take action. If that wasn't enough, Riteish and Tusshar might be donning a country get-up and shall tour the cities in an open truck with the song blaring from the loudspeakers.

With such a lot going for promoting the film, one just hopes that its BO collections might be something so we can make Ekta sing all of the approach to the bank!

Music review: Cocktail

Within days of the Tum Hi Ho Bandhu music video launch, the song had assumed anthem-status. Going by that welcome, Cocktail’s soundtrack seemed promising from the word go. Singers Neeraj Shridhar and Kavita Seth’s vocals have already produced a success with this track.

Daaru Desi is a gem and deserves full points. This can be a perfect mixture of an excellent melody and intelligent arrangement. Singers Benny Dayal and Shalmali Kholgade bring to the song a singular freshness.

Among the 2 versions of Yaariyan, the acoustic one, sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Arijit Singh, is more enchanting. Punjabi singer Miss Pooja’s vocals in Second Hand Jawaani hook you.

The club number, Tera Naam Japdi Fira follows the safe, yet tried and tested English-Punjabi-lyrics-meet-techno-beats formula. It doesn’t do justice to Shefali Alvares’s voice.

Luttna didn’t wish to overdose on electronica. However, a nice addition is Jugni, the track from Coke Studio Pakistan 2010 that was sung by Arif Lohar and Meesha Shafi. This version, which boasts of an attractive piano interlude, sees Arif team up with Harshdeep Kaur. The opposite versions of Luttna and Tera Naam Japdi Fira fail to depart a mark.

The album, as a whole, lacks variety. Most tracks overdose on electronica. But it’s definitely worth a listen for the primary four tracks at the album — they make up for what the compilation seems to lack in its entirety.

Only asexual songs from Jism 2 on TV: Pooja Bhatt

Filmmaker Pooja Bhatt has chosen to advertise Jism 2 songs with adult content through internet, "a greater than worthy competitor of TV", as opposed to showing them on television channels. "WE'VE GOT six songs in Jism 2. Only three cater to a universal audience without losing their essence. The opposite three can't be made to look asexual! Hence, we can only undergo the censor board and plug on TV those songs of Jism 2 what WE feel is acceptable for a family audience," Pooja tweeted.

"The three Jism 2 songs that cater to the common thinking, discerning, passionate, ADULTS could also be viewed freely and by CHOICE around the internet," she added.

The movie, a sequel to the 2003 film, features Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone, with Arunoday Singh and Randeep Hooda. It's expected to be a steamy affair, and so it should not be a surprise if the songs are shot in a definite way.

Pooja, daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, is glad T-Series, which owns the film's music rights, is in resonance along with her decision.

"Delighted that @ Tseries is in absolute agreement with us in the case of NOT releasing watered down versions of Jism 2 trailers on TV. That is the primary time a mainstream film has chosen the web and social media as a GREATER THAN worthy competitor to television," she added.

The actress-turned-director, who went behind the camera for the primary time in 2003 for Paap, says she is worked up being different.

"So THANKS censor board. The supposed roadblock you provided is definitely a gateway to a brand new, sane and fair future of ALL!" Pooja wrote.

"I refuse to enroll in the schizophrenic creed of filmmakers who peddle smut yet crave 'respectability'. You can not have your cake and eat it too! And if I DON'T get a 11 p.m. slot on TV for Jism 2, I'D rather go the DTH way. Amputation of one's inherent vision is for the weak," she added.

Jism 2 marks Sunny Leone's debut in Bollywood.

Dilip Kumar’s biography to be launched on his birthday

A book chronicling the life and times of the living legend Dilip Kumar can be launched at the veteran actor’s birthday (December 11) this year.

Written as a coffee-table book by film journalist Uday Tara Nayar, the book have been supervised by the actor’s wife, Saira Banu.

The biography, which features rare photographs of Dilip’s family and friends, traces the 89-year-old actor’s journey that started eight decades ago when Yusuf Khan came to Mumbai. Will probably be published jointly by Saira’s entertainment enterprise Sharp Focus and New Media publishing house.

“So many writers approached us to jot down this book. We chose Uday Tarra because she is a member of the family and Sahab has known her for a very long time... Tarra writes well,” said Saira, who's engaged on another biography on Dilip, so one can be launched next year.

‘Kolaveri Di’ star Dhanush is about for his Bollywood debut with director Aanand L Rai’s ‘Raanjhnaa’ where he was paired opposite our industry’s style diva Sonam Kapoor. Aaanand has already given our industry a success with ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ starring Kangana Ranaut and Madhavan.

Sonam Kapoor plays the role of a middle-class girl studying in Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Dhanush plays a Brahmin boy from Varanasi.

When Yash Raj Films released their first poster and teaser trailer in their forthcoming ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ featuring only Salman Khan, it left people wondering why his ex-flame and flick’s female lead, Katrina Kaif, was omitted. Before gossip columns could go into wrong interpretations, the makers released one more poster of the similar featuring only Katrina Kaif with the tagline, ‘The girl who tamed Tiger’.

A star-studded Sangeet for Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani

Bollywood must look forward to Vanya Mishra

I'M an engineering student, I WILL BE ABLE TO easily bunk my classes, but I USED TO BE not allowed to bunk grooming sessions. It was difficult, but I'M satisfied with the result. It helped in exploring hidden beauty,” she said.

As for her plans to go into Bollywood, Vanya says that she has other things to concentrate on at this time. “I love glamour, but I haven’t given thought to entering Bollywood as of now. I USED TO BE just the scholar after which I became Miss India, so it’s too early for me to plot future. I just expect and hope to win the international crown. My main focus is international pageant,” she said.

Saif Ali Khan to essay the role of Jawaharlal Nehru

Saif Ali Khan is riding high on his professional front. His forthcoming ‘Cocktail’ is yet to hit the screens but has already impressed the critics with its trailers. And now, Saif is ready to play the role of Jawaharlal Nehru in Britain-based Indian filmmaker, Gurinder Chadha’s partition film. Actor Naseeruddin Shah was approached to play the role of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Shah has already given a nod for the role.

“It is a large canvas requiring tonnes and tonnes of analysis and scores of characters. I’ve spoken to a couple people including Naseer and Saif. Nehru’s role is a cameo, so I PONDER if Saif could be willing to do it,” Gurinder said on phone from London.

The film might be shot in Delhi and Jodhpur. “I’ve already acquired the required permission to shoot everywhere in India including Rashtrapati Bhavan. So I'M prepared. I don’t need to shoot in Pakistan in any respect. This may be my ultimate dream project and that i can’t watch for it to take off,” said Gurinder adding, “This is my biggest challenge up to now. I’ve been engaged on my partition film for a while now. The central character is Lord Mountbatten. The movie is about in January 1947 when Mountbatten was asked to supervise India and the movie results in August 1947, so it’s a short lived time span”.

The film will go on floor this October.

Enough of sequels, comedies for Riteish!

He is the quintessential comic actor of Hindi films but now Riteish Deshmukh, whose sequel to Masti will soon go at the floors, says he plans to forestall doing sequels and take a look at to be a part of drama and crime thrillers. Besides comedies, Riteish have been related to sequels and says he plans to transport in this". is my third sequel after which the fourth one will come, then I WILL BE ABLE TO stop doing sequels because the entire comedies that i'm doing are sequels - Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum (a sequel to Kyaa Kool Hai Hum) and Masti 2. I HAVE NEVER done a brand new comedy."

The actor also featured within the recently released Housefull 2, but he claims that he's not been typecast after playing such a lot of comic roles.

"In fact, in my case, it's been the opposite direction round. Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya happened and it was a rom com where Genelia (D'Souza) is more aggressive character. Thankfully, it worked."

"Obviously these series of flicks that i'm doing are sequels, they're brands and they're guaranteed to be comedy. After these films things have changed because people's perception has changed so now I'M looking ahead to do one drama and one crime thriller."

Riteish is currently gearing up for Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum.

Ranbir Kapoor courts trouble!

Ranbir Kapoor has landed himself in fresh trouble. The actor, who was photographed smoking at the sets of his forthcoming film, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, last month, was served summons by an area court in Udaipur, asking him to look before it on Tuesday.

Kapoor, however, did not do so, and now the court has asked him to look before it on July 26. Harendra Singh, in-charge of Udaipur’s Ghanta Ghar police station, said that Kapoor was booked for violation of Section 5 of Rajasthan Prevention of Smoking Act.

If the fees are proved, the actor could also be sentenced to six-month imprisonment or slapped with a penalty of Rs. 200. Last month, actor Shah Rukh Khan was also summoned by an area court in Jaipur after he was photographed smoking during an IPL match.

I don’t even know what Daya Nayak seems like: Naseruddin Shah

Naseeruddin Shah, who plays an encounter specialist in his upcoming film, says his character isn’t according to an actual cop. In an interview with Roshmila Bhattacharya, he opens up.

What made you sign the film, Maximum?
After back-to-back projects, I wasn’t within the mood to tackle another film. But I USED TO BE drawn by (director) Kabeer Kaushik’s conviction. I’d been impressed by his concern for the forces in Sehar (2005). Now, he’s back with this story of 2 encounter cops. I’ve always encouraged young filmmakers, despite the fact that the 3 debutants I worked with last year made terribly disappointing movies.

Is your character modelled on Daya Nayak (the Mumbai encounter cop who was within the news between 1997 and 2003)?
(Smiles) I don’t even know what Daya Nayak looks as if. Daya and Pradeep Sharma’s lives could also be fodder for the script, however the story is fictional. Encounters didn’t begin with them. As a child, I remember a friend’s cop father was referred to as the dacoit-killer of UP after he gunned down dacoits who’d surrendered. He reasoned that nobody would testify against them and they’d be out on bail in two weeks.

What’s your tackle cops who shoot to kill?
It’s easy to sentence them because we’re coping with human life here. Even a few of these cops (who were in jail until recently) are loose cannons. It’s a chilling realisation, but then, the lifetime of a cop is hellishly difficult given their ridiculous pay packets and job pressures.

Is the police fraternity more likely to be upset?
I can’t say. People get upset over trivialities just like the use of the word barber or a cobbler in a song.

Will the underworld take umbrage, for the reason that the film shows a Bollywood star with links to the mafia?
(Laughs) Unless their interests are harmed, I don’t see them getting upset. They've a whole lot of other problems to fret about.

When RGV ditched Naseer!
It’s rumoured that Naseer has signed Ram Gopal Varma’s Amma 3D being made in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and English. Naseer denies it, saying, “No, but Ramu surfaces every few years looking to interest me with a task. He came to me with Department and a personality who’s heard, but never seen within the film. I accepted, concerned about the novelty, after which he disappeared.”

Children should keep away from Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum

Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum is an entire no-no for children, says actor Tusshar Kapoor who can be seen within the adult comedy.

"Kids cannot see this film. Teenagers can see it," he said and added that though the film could have an A-certificate, it won't affect its box office
performance.

Talking in regards to the sexual innuendoes and jokes within the film, he said that the genre has become cool and trendy.

Apart from Tusshar, the film, didrected by Sachin Yardi, also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Neha Sharma and Sarah Jane Dias and was produced by his sister, Ekta Kapoor.

"When Kyaa Kool Hai Hum became a really perfect hit, I felt that it might was bigger had the family audience would have seen it. Everyone saw it, the women went with their friends and the boys went with theirs. But people didn't go along with their families. But now society has really changed," he told IANS.

"We had a narration and we toned it down, but everyone said that it was good but inferior to the former one. So then we brought back all of the jokes and the naughty humour," he added.

Kyaa Super Cool Hai Hum, is being released seven years after Sangeeth Sivan directed Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, which was released in 2005.

"We are lucky that no film of this type came in between. Housefulls have come, Golmaals have come, but they seem to be a comedy of a special kind. That is an adult comedy," the actor says.

Why the gap?

"There were numerous problems, Sangeeth desired to do different kinds of movies. He said he was not just a comedy director so he desired to make some actioners and thrillers. When he was ready, Ekta was not pleased with the script.

"Finally, Sachin came up with a script for a movie called Road Trip To Anjuna. But we liked it so much, Ekta decided to transform it into Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum and make it a two hero film," he said.

Finally, Arjun Kapoor to star in 2 States

After several false starts and an entire bunch of actors and directors walking out and in of the frame, the film adaptation of two States is finally set to take off. We’ve now learnt that Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar’s co-production according to Chetan ‘bestseller’ Bhagat’s novel by the similar name is confirmed to star Arjun Kapoor.

Of course, there has been still some drama remaining on this roller-coaster ride — before finalising Arjun for the lead. It sort of feels Imran Khan were approached for the role. But he turned down the offer since he was tied up with multiple projects — Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, followed by Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 and Milan Talkies.

We tried reaching Karan and Sajid for comments, but they remained unavailable. However, the Ishaqzaade star is assumed to have formally signed the contract a couple of days ago. An industry insider confirms, “Yes, Imran was approached but he had date issues. That’s how Arjun came into the image. Both Sajid and Karan were very impressed along with his work in Ishaqzaade. So he was the following natural choice.”

When we called Arjun, he didn’t deny the news, but only told us, “I don’t intend to make any comments till things are finalised. Let’s stay up for the official announcement.”

However, our insider insists that Arjun is “very much on,” but have been instructed to not discuss the impending project as of now.

The drama over 2 States’ film adaptation started in 2010 when Sajid bought the rights. First, director Siddharth Anand (of Bachna Ae Haseeno and Anjaana Anjaani fame) was to tackle the film with Saif Ali Khan and Priyanka Chopra within the lead. Then Shah Rukh Khan entered the fray with director Vishal Bhardwaj. Chapter three saw KJo step in as co-producer with Ranbir Kapoor’s name being suggested for the lead role.

Now, before this casting story gets more chapters than the book itself, things appear to be falling into place. Debutant Abhishek Varman, who has worked as an assistant director on Karan’s My Name Is Khan (2010) and upcoming Student Of The Year, will direct the film. “It’s more likely to go at the floors towards the tip of the year. The remainder details might be finalised once Sajid is back from his Europe trip,” says the insider.

2 States is a love story a few girl from a Tamil family and a Punjabi boy, and the hurdles they face en path to marriage.

Glam Deepika insists on a desi avatar

Remember Deepika Padukone’s character Shanti from Om Shanti Om (OSO; 2007)? The actor, whose Indian avatar became an instant hit with Farah Khan’s blockbuster, has gone back to that desi search for Cocktail’s new song, Second hand jawaani. When the makers came up with an concept to have a dance number with Saif Ali Khan, Deepika and Diana Penty, everyone was excited.

At that time, Deepika insisted that she would also, like her co-stars, wear an Indian outfit for the song. “Since the song comes right on the end of the film, Deepika felt that it was the most productive opportunity for her to move desi. It also won’t fiddle with the unique narrative of the remainder of the film, since she’s mostly sporting western clothes,” says an insider from the unit.

Choreographer duo Bosco-Caesar wanted Deepika to maintain the look she carried in OSO. They allowed her to make a choice her own clothes. “There isn't any doubt that she looks ravishing briefly dresses, skirts and hot pants in Cocktail, way to her styling by Anaita Shroff Adajania. But people are happy that Deepika decided to switch her search for the song,” adds the insider.

Director Homi Adajania says, “The song is the kitschy celebration of the film. The 2 girls tease Saif for being a constant flirt. Deepika is hot in Cocktail, but she (mostly) wears western clothes. The one thing that doesn’t change is that she looked just as smoking hot within the Indian outfits too.”
