Border 2 to flag off!

By Hindustan Times

Supermodel-turned-actor Muzammil Ibrahim is gearing as much as join the military within the sequel of JP Dutta’s Border (1996) that was set against the backdrop of the Indo-Pakistan 1971 war. He had earlier played a cop in his debut film Dhoka (2007) and admits to a sense of déjà vu: “Shooting will start in two months. While growing up, I NEEDED to be an Air Force pilot. My father was a contractor within the Indian army in Kashmir and there have been army people throughout me.”

Prod him for more details on Border 2 and he refuses to divulge more, saying, “It’s JP Dutta’s call to reveal what the film is set. All I WILL say is that we're working together for sure.”

The Gladrags Manhunt Winner (2003) regrets that his second film never saw the sunshine of the day but his third project, he says, “Horn Ok Pleassss was with Nana Patekar and that i had a variety of expectations from it. But unfortunately, it missed its release date and after that just kept getting pushed ahead,” Muzammil sighs. “I was getting many offers after Dhoka, but I refused they all to be aware of this one and today, I regret the decision.”

The only film he signed was Will You Marry Me? that he landed while shooting for the aborted Horn Ok Pleassss. “I liked the script and the team, but even my third film took a very long time to finish,” he says.

Directed by Aditya Datt, Will You Marry Me? co-stars Shreyas Talpade and Rajeev Khandelwal as Muzammil’s friends. The trio, when in college, decide never to get married till he breaks the promise. “It’s important for me but they don’t take into account that and thinking I’m stupid, plan to debris it up for me,” says the 26 year old. “It involves some extent where I NEED TO make a choice from friendship and marriage.”
