Madhur Bhandarkar is understood for making realistic films. After Aishwarya Rai left his project ‘Heroine’ with a doomed fate, Bhandarkar roped in Kareena Kapoor and continued with the project with added zeal. He has already made up his mind for his next venture which might be a a political thriller, based upon the politics in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Madhur is in talks with UTV Movies and Eros International for his project and both the company houses have shown a large number of interest in it.
As for the leading lady, Madhur is in two minds whether to rope in Vidya Balan and Priyanka Chopra to play the politician’s role. The role is that of a lady who hails from northern India as a vulnerable lady who gradually transforms right into a bold and conniving woman who fits well within the political world.
Though Vidya Balan would suit the role of the mature politician and her acting skills would also do justice to this challenging role, Bhandarkar also has a dishonest for Priyanka Chopra due to the pro rapport he developed together with her in the course of the shoot of ‘Fashion’.
Meanwhile the Bombay High Court has rejected Madhur’s application to stick the method against him within the Pretti Jaiin rape case. Madhur says, “I have full faith within the Indian judiciary and our legal system.
Honorable Justice RC Chavan of The Bombay High Court has directed that the case will now continue within the lower court. And we respect the Court’s stance.”
