Emraan Hashmi as a country pan chewing reporter in ‘Shanghai’

There is not any denying the truth that Emraan Hashmi has given many successful films on the box office. His last release ‘Murder 2’ was a large Bollywood hit and the primary look and trailer of his forthcoming ‘Shanghai’ looks quite promising. Emraan plays a foul-mouthed reporter on this Dibakar Banerjee’s flick and for this, he needed to chew tobacco.

On the primary day of the shoot, Emraan Hashmi was asked to chew tobacco for a scene and Emraan found the taste so disgusting that he almost threw up and felt giddy.

The director insisted that since his role required him to do it, there has been no opposite direction out. After a large number of discussions, Banerjee and Emraan Hashmi came to the belief that the actor should chew tobacco.

However, Emraan didn't appear for a promotional event along with his co-star since he was busy along with his shoot for ‘Jannat 2’.

A disappointed Banerjee said, “I was heartbroken that we weren't capable of kick off the promotions with a trailer launch. We went through so much seeking to coordinate Emraan and Abhay’s dates after which change all of it over again.” Shanghai is Banerjee’s release after two years, since his last film LSD: Love, Sex Aur Dhokha. The movie stars Abhay Deol, Emraan Hashmi and Kalki Koechlin.

The first trailer of the flick shows Emraan as a rustic, paan-chewing village thug and he made his way into cine lovers hearts when he gave a scornful smile, his paan-stained teeth flashing at the screen.
