Unhappy with the general result, director Priyadarshan has decided to cut Mallika Sherawat's item number Laila from Tezz. But there's a twist. Producer Ratan Jain desires to retain it. So who will win, will Mallika be out or in?
Sameera Reddy was apparently approached for the thing number first, but she declined the offer. Later, the producer told the solid that Jia Khan could be doing it, reports Mid Day.
“However, we later learnt that Mallika was doing it, with none clue as to why Jiah was not part of it any more,” a source told the tabloid, adding that it was Mallika who was interested in doing the thing number.
“Mallika and Ratanji had an understanding that she would charge an overly nominal fee for it and publicise it to the maximum,” the source added.
“Mallika insisted to Ratanji that she need to be cast within the song. She even told him that since they'd already done a few films together, she can be keeping their equation in mind, and wouldn’t haggle for money," the source was quoted saying.
Ratan Jain denied the story, adding that the explanation why Priyan wasn’t around throughout the shoot of this song was because he was engaged on another film. “However, everything happened along with his knowledge. He recommended the director of photography or even the choreographer. One can’t do anything without the director’s awareness.”
