Gossip columns were abuzz with the rumors that Priyanka Chopra was finalized for the lead in director Apoorva Lakhia’s remake of the 1973 film ‘Zanjeer’. However, the director puts a rest to those rumors saying, “Priyanka Chopra isn't yet confirmed. We've not yet selected that. However, we're starting the film’s shoot from May 13. The scenes of the lead actor could be shot.”
The movie will see Amit Mehra entering into the sphere of production. The lead role played by Amitabh Bachchan could be essayed by southern superstar Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Teja. Lakhia wants Big B to make an appearance in his film and is planning to approach him with the offer.
“I haven't approached Mr. Bachchan yet. But I CAN soon approach him. It might be great if he could show his presence within the film. I MIGHT approach him for all obvious reasons. Who doesn't wish to cast Mr. Bachchan of their film,” said Lakhia.
