Ever for the reason that sequel to the 2010 hit Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, was announced, yesteryear starlet Mandakini was within the news. Last year, rumour mills stoked speculation whether Kareena Kapoor, who was earlier in talks for the feminine lead part, would reprise Mandakini’s notorious wet white sari scene from Raj Kapoor’s Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985) within the sequel.
For the uninitiated, the actor’s character within the second part takes cues from Mandakini’s life, as Dawood Ibrahim was believed to be in a relationship with the starlet. Actor Akshay Kumar will play a task apparently inspired by the don.
SonakshiBut now, as Sonakshi Sinha bags the a part of Yasmin, she insists there’s no such sequence (wet sari) in Milan Luthria’s film. “I don’t believe the makers ever discussed or projected that a particular scene could be within the film. Nobody has even mentioned it within the media either, so there’ve only been speculations about it,” she says.
In terms of her portrayal, Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter admits that she has “certain restrictions.” She adds: “Before I start a film, I place my cards at the table. And then, it’s as much as the filmmakers to make your mind up whether or not they want me of their film or not.” In line with her, when the sequel’s producers were within the initial scripting process, she kept them informed as and when required regarding what she’d be comfortable or uncomfortable with.
“I have always maintained that I come from a definite background (and family name). Plus, I'VE boundaries I wouldn’t cross in relation to such sequences. So, if there have been such scenes in any film I’m offered, including this one within the Once Upon… sequel, I wouldn’t do them,” insists the Dabangg (2010) actor.
