It created stirs and ripples of shock when Bollywood superstar SRK used to be again detained on the US airport, this time at a brand new York airport for 2 hours on Thursday as he arrived there to go to Yale University. He was honoured on the Yale as a Chubb Fellow, joining a distinguished list which contains former presidents George W. Bush, Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter and authors Octavio Paz, Carlos Fuentes, and Toni Morrison.
Later US sent its apologies and gave an excuse that Khan was not “detained”, but “simply delayed”.
State Department spokesperson Mark Toner suggested that to bypass such incidents “travellers can alert – identify their status before they depart via the embassy. And that’s one approach or avenue to take.”
Well, the adventure which started with a sour note ended happily as SRK charmed the scholars of Yale University together with his wit and performances and fans travelled from so far as Alabama and California to enroll in with members of the brand new Haven and Yale community to listen to SRK speak to a capacity audience of about 1,700.
Shahrukh Khan not just gave valuable advices to the scholars but additionally danced his signature ‘Chammak Challo’ moves with Yale student Natalia Khosla. “This is probably the most fun I'VE had in months!” SRK said.
Yale University summarized all of the episode in a gentle note. “As SRK himself would tell you, what's most significant in his movies is how they end as opposed to how they begin,” Assistant Secretary George Joseph stated adding, “And yesterday, things began in an unfortunate manner, but led to some way that left everyone happy.”
