NEW DELHI, May 2 -- Actor Madhuri Dixit was on a signing spree ever since she moved back to Mumbai. Dixit, 44, has already signed Vishal Bharadwaj's Dedh Ishqiya, and now she is ready to play the a gangster in Anubhav Sinha's Gulab Gang.
"We have signed Madhuri for Gulab Gang. She'll be playing the lead role of Gulab. She heads a gang of women," says an excited Sinha. "It was director Soumik Sen who narrated the tale to me and that i really liked it. It was his idea of getting Madhuri within the film. He met her and he or she was also very fascinated about it," Sinha adds.
Gulab Gang is the tale of a gang of ladies fighting against social injustice. "IT ISN'T a biopic neither is it according to anyone. It's fiction," informs Sinha. There'll be six female characters within the film. "WE NOW HAVE just finalised Madhuri. Soumik had mentioned that he desires to cast Mahie Gill, Shilpa Shukla also. But I DO NOT know if things was finalised. We're also on the lookout for a feminine antagonist," he adds.
