Desperately desired to work with SRK: Katrina Kaif

By Hindustan Times

She has a light fever and it’s late at night but Katrina Kaif doesn’t shrink back from work. Together with her film, Ek Tha Tiger, able to release, the actor is simply too much of a pro to even let a sound excuse stop her from doing her job. This explains why she, an intruder to the film industry eight years ago, is now on the top.

Relaxed, at Yash Raj Studios on Friday night, Katrina bares her heart to HT Café.

With Ek Tha Tiger releasing soon, do you're feeling the pressure?
I do, but I'M positive. IT'S NOT THAT I AM letting ‘what if’ roughly doubts get to me. I'M a non secular person and rely heavily on prayers. There are huge expectations from this film due to the names involved.

We’ve heard that you just haven’t signed any films after Dhoom:3. What’s the plan?
Yes, I haven’t. There are some things on my mind.

Do you wish to have a break?
I think you're right. It’s been eight years! But again, I’m a workaholic who can be restless after two weeks. And i've such a lot of things on my plate right now.

Suddenly there are various young actresses entering the industry. Do you are feeling insecure?
Oh please, I'VE zero fear. I'M too focussed for all this. I FEEL in healthy competition. And in any case, what’s meant for you may come to you. Nobody can take that clear of you. I'M destiny’s child.

Salman (Khan) and also you don't seem to be together?
I am single. Our equation could be very different today and that i believe that exes will also be great friends.

You built an effective career in Bollywood with Salman’s help. How much credit do you give him today?
I believe in destiny, God’s hand and tough work. The audience has accepted me. But it’s also true that I’ve known Salman for eight years. He’s helped me as an individual. His presence in my life was for guidance and, straightforward and straightforward views. He has immense knowledge of the industry and that is where he helped me from going astray.

But do you think you wouldn’t has been where you're today without him?
I strongly disagree. Yes, I owe him gratitude, but it’s unfair to mention I'D haven't got a break without Salman. On this industry, everyone has people of their lives to assist them to start with. Salman was helped by Sooraj Barjatya. And Salman also helped Sneha Ullal and Zarine Khan. I USED TO BE young, impressionable and hardworking. In fact, Akshay Kumar is among the few individuals who instilled confidence in me. I pick up things by watching people around me, and that i picked up numerous things from Akshay. To be fair there are lots of individuals who have played different key roles in my life.

You are working with Shah Rukh in Yash Chopra’s untitled film….
Yes, it’s a large thing for me. He’s an iconic figure within the industry and i've numerous respect for him. I had seen Veer Zara. He’s a superstar, a romantic icon and that i desperately desired to work with him. It’s like your resume is incomplete when you haven’t worked with Shah Rukh Khan. He’s a patient and supportive co-star.

Are the 2 of you friends now?
While shooting the film, I USED TO BE tense and nervous to work with him and Yash Chopra across the. thought that I NEED TO not allow them to down was a continuing burden on my mind, so I didn’t really have time for anything. Yes, we hung out together, but Gauri was also there. And i've been in touch with Gauri greater than with Shah Rukh.

Do you continue to think Salman is the most productive looking guy around?
For me, physical beauty is rarely the cause of attraction to anyone. Salman is blessed. His face has an overly positive energy; there’s an aura around him today. I don’t know whether it is success, his family or his good deeds, but I see a calmness, happiness and contentment in him today. Salman has changed for the better.

Does financial security still worry you? We all know it’s been in your mind since you’ve needed to work your way up out of your middle-class background.
I roughly worry less today. I'VE an excessively positive attitude in life. My insecurity, fear and wish to grasp about tomorrow has fortunately eased. What will happen will happen anyway. So why break my head over it?

What’s your favourite shot with Salman?
I can’t reveal it, the filmmakers will kill me! It’s prior to the interval. He gets into this serious, intense and anguished mode; very real and dramatic collectively. He jogged my memory of the classic Hollywood heroes. That is very unlike the standard stuff that Salman does.

Have you considered marriage? Any pressure out of your family?
Not presently. One should be in that right space and feel right about entering into that zone. There’s absolutely no pressure from my mom or anyone else. In fact, my mom is the largest example and backer of an independent career. After we were young, she’d sing Que Sera, Sera (whatever will, be can be) to all of us.
