Superhero flicks are not any more the domain of the West as Bollywood has lined up a lot of films featuring our personal desi superheroes.
Krrish 3
Cast: Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Kangna Ranaut, Vivek Oberoi
This is the third installment within the superhero movie
franchise, the primary two being Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish. Krrish 3 will continue with the tale of Rohit Mehra and his superhero son Krrish. Buzz is that the flick can have offbeat characters like Frog-man, Rhino-man, Scorpion-girl and Cheetah-girl. Hrithik hit the gym with a vengeance to organize for this role.
Mr India 2
Cast: Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, Salman Khan
India’s first sci-fi superhero — Mr India (1987) — can be back with new faces. The unique film’s lead pair Anil Kapoor and Sridevi will reportedly be back as parents of the brand new hero, who inherits his dad’s device that turns him invisible to fight crime. Director Shekhar Kapur won’t return for the sequel. Actor Salman Khan is rumoured to play the villain.
G.One
Cast: Shah Rukh Khan
Actor Shah Rukh Khan, who produced and starred in last year’s sci-fi 3D superhero flick, RA.One, is planning a sequel of the movie. Titled G.One, the 46-year-old actor is actively on the lookout for a fair script for a similar these days. “There are some films which lend themselves to a different part... RA.One is one among them. And I’ll be very upset if I don’t make one (sequel). But, I MUST have a narrative idea first,” Shah Rukh Khan said.
Herogiri
Cast: Not yet announced
After Aisha, producer Rhea Kapoor’s (Anil Kapoor’s daughter) second outing could be Herogiri, according to Mainak Dhar’s novel of the similar name. Though the forged is yet to be finalised, the movie revolves around a standard man possessing extraordinary powers. Rhea, who has bought the rights of the book, says that she thought it'd be exciting to maintain the genre of superhero films alive. “The title caught my attention. Besides, the speculation is relevant to today’s times,” she said.
