Actor Zeenat Aman have been flooded with offers to pen her memoirs. The actor, best known for being part of famous songs like Dum Maaro Dum in Hare Raama Hare Krishna (1971) and Chura Liya Hai Tumne in Yaadon Ki Baarat (1973), reluctantly admits, “I has been approached by six publishers to have my life’s story documented as a biography or an autobiography. But I haven’t given any of them a nod yet.”
Late Dev Anand wrote his biography, Romancing With Life, which was published by Penguin in 2007. However, Zeenat isn’t convinced concerning the idea. She says, “I haven’t gotten myself to sit down and make notes. I haven’t written a single word yet. It’s an attractive daunting task and that i don’t think my life is as interesting. Why would youngsters need to read it?”
Though Zeenat is now regularly seen at parties or even had a temporary appearance in Rajshree Ojha’s Chaurahen recently, she says, “I am an excessively private person. I HAVE TO be able to share my story with the sector. And when one writes about their life, the lives in their family members become a part of the narrative. IT'S NOT THAT I AM sure if I must be doing that.”
Is the truth that she may include some famous names a part of the worry? She says, “When you write an autobiography, it needs to be authentic. To pen a book, one has to put in writing because it is. I'M too occupied with ruffling feathers along the way.”
