Sukirti is the brand new Katrina!

By Hindustan Times

MUMBAI, June 26 -- Actor Sukirti Khandpal seems to became Indian television's go-to girl for shows in response to feature films. Having previously acted in Balaji Telefilms' Pyaar Ki Ek Kahani (PKYEK) in keeping with the Twilight Saga, she has now signed a show on Zee where her character is encouraged by Katrina Kaif's part in Namastey London (2007).

The actor says, "In Rab Se Sona Isshq, I play an Indian, who's born and taken up in Britain. She is a contemporary girl with western values and is named Jazz, which was Katrina's name within the film." She adds, however, that "the role is purely loosely in line with Kat's character, attitude and magnificence within the film. I HAVE NEVER been asked to observe the film or copy Katrina. Even PKYEK was just in response to Twilight - it not a replica".

About the character, she says, "Jazz is a regular London girl. She doesn't know anything about our (Indian) culture nor does she understand family or relationships from the desi perspective." The actor may be enthusiastic about her look within the show. "I CAN wear cute Western outfits and sport my natural curly hair. Being sexy comes naturally to me, and i'm hoping to have numerous fun," she says.
