Kareena Kapoor’s bold and uninhibited image in Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’ didn't go down well with the censor board as they've decided to censor her shots through which she is seen smoking within the trailer.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has decided to blur all images of smoking from feature films.
“We’ve taken a call a while back to turn no smoking in trailers. It's because in a trailer, there may also be no disclaimer about smoking. Within the full-length feature film, there needs to be disclaimer about smoking firstly and after interval. Even then the smoking sequences are blurred,” said J.P. Singh, CBFC’s regional officer in Mumbai.
The trailer has got an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board.
“As expected got a “A” certificate from the censor board. Countdown begins for the launch of the poster & promo of ?#Heroine?.”, wrote director Madhur Bhandarkar on twitter.
However, the movie itself has not got an ‘A’ certificate because the director later clarified that he was only talking in regards to the trailer “A small correction. The ‘A’ certificate is for the theatrical promo of ?#Heroine?, not the film. Edit of the film still in process.”, he further wrote.
Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, the movie relies at the lifetime of a superstar named Mahi Arora, played by Kareena Kapoor and in addition stars Arjun Rampal, Shahana Goswani, Randeep Hooda and Divya Dutta in prominent roles. The film is slated to release on 21st September which also happens to be Kareena Kapoor’s birthday!
