Since the premiere of Jab Tak Hai Jaan (JTHJ), everyone desires to ask Shah Rukh Khan something — even if he and Salman Khan have really patched up. He clarifies, briefly but sharply, besides talking about his upcoming films Chennai Express and Happy New Year, while launching a brand new theme park for youngsters within the city.
Are there plans of a hit party for JTHJ?
Maybe I’ll call the actors, Adi (Aditya Chopra) and others home sooner or later. The film stems from a rather sad place, so we’ll simply hug one another for having made an excellent film. We won’t have a public party, that's a fad.
There were reports about patch up between Salman (Khan) and you.
Aisa kuch bhi nahin hai (There’s nothing like that)... koi patch up XYZ ke saath. I too read that during the papers.
We’ve never seen this locket you're now wearing. It kind of feels special.
It has the prayer my mum used to inform me to maintain under my pillow. Someone gave it to me 10 days ago. It wards off nightmares. I'VE no such problems, as I don’t sleep anyway. It’s got my parents’ picture. I’ll wear it for a couple of days.
You start shooting for Chennai Express soon. Do we see you doing stunts, as Rohit Shetty’s films are known for them?
I REALLY LIKE Rohit’s style. I like the mayhem and the madness. Chennai Express is a romantic comedy and a fast-paced one. And if Rohit doesn’t blow up some cars, I’ll be angry with him (smiles). I'VE shot for 25 days for the film already.
There has been several rumours surrounding Happy New Year. What’s the status?
Happy New Year (HNY) is a Farah Khan more or less film. It’s a comic book caper. It has seven main characters — some playing good, others playing bad guys. We’d hoped to be ready by New Year to launch the poster, but I don’t think we're. We haven’t designed it yet. Inshallah, in a couple of months, we will be able to make an announcement.
You have invested in a brand new business venture, Kidzania. Why now?
I tell people who if you wish to attract the universal emotion within the world, entice the kid in individuals with. Kidzania, I THINK I'M adding to the expansion of youngsters. Kids today are well-informed, from time to time too informed. It's important to channelise that information. Kidzania goes to try this. I never call to mind any business short term, because I WOULD LIKE the result to bring greater than money. I WILL put money in power plants, oil, or some other businesses, but I BELIEVE I should do a business that is entertaining and spreads smiles.
