Ram Kapoor may quit Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, makes films his priority

By Hindustan Times

Actors who work in TV dailies usually shoot for 16 to 18 hours an afternoon. Therefore, they don’t have the time to absorb projects across other mediums. Despite the fact that Ram Kapoor is one such actor who have been shuffling TV and movie work for years, the pressure appears to be attending to him now.

The actor has apparently decided to quit his hit show, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain (BALH), as his film commitments have left him and not using a time. Ram has played the role of the male lead within the show for approximately a year-and-a-half.

An insider says, “Ram has spoken to Balaji (production house) and the channel (Sony). He told Ekta that he desires to quit as he has received some good film offers. Finding the time for his films and shooting for BALH was becoming very difficult for him.”

While news about Ram desirous to quit BALH had first made headlines in September, the problem was soon resolved. But now, with more film work coming his way, he's finding it hard to regulate his schedule. “Every month, he works at the show for 15 days, after which he dedicates 15 days for his films. And since he's in almost every frame of BALH, it’s even tougher. There were times when the production unit has needed to make do with close-up shots and body doubles, as he didn't have time to shoot,” says a source.

However, the producers are still seeking to convince him to stick. To shop for a while for him, the production house has even introduced a unique shooting track in a maha episode that the channel is currently filming. Within the soon-to-be-aired promo of this episode, Ram’s character might be seen getting shot, while protecting his onscreen wife, Priya (Sakshi Tanwar).

This year, Ram was seen in supporting roles in films like Agent Vinod, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu and Student Of The Year. His upcoming releases are Love U Mr Kalakaar, a Marathi film called Maaee, Mira Nair’s Midnight’s Children and Yashraj’s Mere Dad Ki Maruti.
