Why should I remain a bachelor: Salman Khan

By Hindustan Times

With Salman Khan, you never know what mood you’ll get. But on Sunday afternoon at Mehboob Studio, he’s jovial. His next film, Ek Tha Tiger, releasing on August 15, is already the topic of much speculation, with trade pundits wondering if it'll create a Rs. 200 crore club. Whether it does or does not, his fans are desperate to watch their superhero at the big screen again. Between shots of Dabangg 2, the star answers HT Café’s questions.

Today, you’re more successful than ever. Are you working twice as hard, or has this happened by chance?
In the past, I had a knee-jerk method to work and it showed on screen. I USED TO BE doing movies for the incorrect reasons — seeking to juggle dates, do too many guest appearances, absorb projects stressed or for emotional reasons. But now there’s one way to my madness. I'VE heard people say, “Salman has changed, he’s lost it,” and stuff like that. But it surely doesn’t affect me. Today, I'M doing movies just for my fans and i'm enjoying each piece of it. They're happy and so am I.

Isn’t it showing on screen? There appears to be a Salman Khan mania within the country. Are you proud?
It feels nice to be loved, but let me let you know there are 10 times more better looking, stylish and talented guys than me. So there’s no solid reason behind me to be proud! I don’t think I'VE done anything extraordinary to switch people’s lives. Yeh sab showbaazi hai aur isme credit lene ki baat kya hai? Mein chaand pe thodi pahunch gaya, ya koi cancer ka dawa invent kiya? (THAT IS show business; there may be nothing to take credit for. Have I gone to the moon or invented a cure for cancer?). Like most of you, I actually have a job. If in any respect I'M happy with anything, it’s my charitable trust, Being Human, which helps the needy.

You are actually the brand new tiger in Bollywood. Powerful, but in addition scary.
Is the tiger conscious about the traits you attribute to him? He's not, so it doesn’t matter to him, right? However, has fear ever discouraged people from hunting it down within the jungle, whipping it and taming it? Log toh tiger ko bhi circus mein nachate hai (people make tigers perform within the circus). But they're beautiful creatures. See how they cuddle up whilst you show them love.

But persons are terrified of you, Salman. Why?
That’s only a myth. I BELIEVE people just give me my space. In fact, those who find themselves supposedly afraid of me have taken the utmost liberties with me. Just like the media, for instance, who've pitilessly attacked me without finding accurate proof or giving me a possibility to clear my stand. For 20 long years I haven’t reacted, because I USED TO BE wounded. And the similar people come to me for interviews. So, where’s the question of fear?

Are you frightened of ever losing the fan following you have got now?
If the adulation has not affected me now, how will it affect me in any respect? There are individuals who take their onscreen image seriously. Luckily, I don’t. Rajesh Khanna is the classic case of a superstar forgotten until he passed away… I HAVEN'T seen or heard of such unparalleled adulation as his. I USED TO BE happy to witness a sea of humanity descend on his funeral. But I wish it had all happened when he was alive! He would was more than happy! Love and respect have to be accorded for your lifetime. Honestly, I wouldn’t want such pandemonium once I am dead and gone! It’s no need then, because I won’t be capable to see or feel the love.

Is it lonely on the top?
Whoever coined the phrase will have been a lonely soul himself. I'M blessed to have individuals with me and around me always. Nothing is more important to me greater than the 3 Fs in my life — family, friends and fans.

Your career was rocketing. How satisfying has it been?
The present is nice. Things are moving within the right direction. Coincidentally, my destiny, luck and chance all came collectively. I sent out a favorable energy to the universe and all of it came back to me. Personally, everything is ok. There were illnesses on and off, but I WILL BE ABLE TO handle those. I'M enjoying the phase while it lasts.

There are reports that you're single. No chance of affection again?
I have love throughout me, very just about me, sooner than me and by my side.

Does Bollywood’s bachelor boy intend to stay a bachelor?
No. Why should I?

You’ve been hurt to your method to this super success. Are you proof against pain now?
I feel blessed that I haven’t seen or felt real pain to be proof against it. But I'M dreading the time it comes. I THINK blessed to have everything going fine. My parents’ health is good, my brothers are well-settled, I'VE a really perfect brother-in-law and my very own career is doing fine. I'M HOPING and pray that i'm fit and fine always.

Who is more important to you — the lady on your life or your family?
I will side with whoever is right at that point.

Have you signed Sooraj Barjatya’s film?
We are in talks. He has narrated a script to me. But I'M starting Sohail’s next film. It’s an ideal script and i'm totally driven by it. Let’s see what I absorb after this.

Are you acutely aware of the high expectations from Ek Tha Tiger? Apparently no other filmmaker desires to release a film around that time.
Great, na? Two big brands — Yash Chopra and Salman Khan — are hitting the theatres together. High expectations toh banta hai na? (there'll be high expectations, right?) But we hadn’t planned anything like this. I loved the script and got down to make a fair film. And the product is out there.

Salman-Katrina romance in Laapata from Ek Tha Tiger

By Hindustan Times

There's definitely a plus in pairing up ex-flames. The sizzling chemistry between Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in new song Laapata from Ek Tha Tiger would certainly second that.

Although the 2 has been seen together earlier, there still is freshness to this pairing. After seeing their chemistry within the romantic track, you're reminded of the initial phase of a relationship while you can't keep your eyes off each other.

And Katrina Kaif can't keep her hands off Salman Khan within the refreshing number. The Sheila babe is seen kissing the Dabangg Khan a few times.

The hot actress has finally shed her 'safe dresser' image. She has experimented along with her dressing style and is seen in chic dresses with deep necks and short hemlines.

The track is sung by KK and Palak Muchhal. Music is by Sohail Sen.

Directed by Kabir Khan, Ek Tha Tiger is ready for August 15 release.

SYNOPSIS
In the dark world of intelligence and espionage, there are shadows without faces, and faces without names. Governments fight shadow battles through these soldiers of the unknown. Battles haven't any rules, no limits. Nobody at the outside knows what goes on within these secret organisations.

All information is guarded in the name of National security. But some stories escape the fiercely guarded classified files. Stories that become legends. This can be a film about one such story, a narrative that may be spoken about only in hushed whispers… a narrative that shook the very foundation of this dark world. But, like several reports that pop out of this uncertain world, nobody will ever confirm those events. It'll or would possibly not have happened.

Izna is porn-star but different from me: Sunny Leone

By Hindustan Times

There is an aura about Sunny Leone that may be hard to explain in words. Right from the time, she first arrived to participate in Bigg Boss, Sunny has created a nationwide frenzy like no other actress ever has. Remember the fact that much of that is attributed to the truth that Sunny is without doubt one of the few people of Indian origin who has made this type of megastar for herself on the earth of adult entertainment.

When Mahesh Bhatt signed her for Jism 2, her popularity in India soared by leaps and boundaries. With each promo, the audience desired to have more of Sunny. She soon became probably the most searched celebs within the online world. Men drool over her while women envy her.

Bollywood Hungama got an opportunity to fulfill the beautiful beauty for a rendezvous at a suburban hotel. Wearing a blue dress, Sunny gave the look of 1,000,000 bucks who can make any man go weak in his knees. Flashing that lovable smile of hers, Sunny got chatting on a number of topics right from her big Bollywood debut Jism 2 to her favourite B-Town actors and actresses and likewise revealed what are the qualities that attract her to a man. You surely don't wanna miss reading this one.

When you first signed Jism 2, did you ever expect the type of euphoria your big screen debut would create in India?
No. I had no idea it'd be this big. That is really nice surprise for me. I just hope now that everyone likes the movie up to they've loved the promos and the songs.

Did you get any offers before Jism 2 to behave in films?
I did get a couple of offers across the same time once I was offered Jism 2 by Bhatt saab. But finally I DETERMINED to select this one as my Bollywood debut.

What was it about Jism 2 that made you are saying 'YES'?
I genuinely liked what Bhatt saab and Pooja had envisioned about this project. It just all fell perfectly in place like a puzzle piece.

Have you seen the toilet Abraham-Bipasha Basu starrer Jism?
Yes I'VE. I loved that movie and thought it was specialized. I watched it as part of my research before I BEGAN filming for Jism 2.

Coming to Jism 2, you play a porn-star Izna within the film. Is it a case of real imitating reel. How similar is Izna in your real self?
Izna is a fictional character. They've used this aspect of her being a porn-star within the film but Izna is an absolutely different person than who I am.

Jism 2 is high on erotic content. You've been an adult star, so was it easier so that you can perform such scenes along with your co-star?
Just like every other Bollywood movie, the romantic scenes in Jism 2 were also all choreographed. So everything needed to be done in a undeniable way, with a undeniable camera angle etc. It wasn't necessarily uncomfortable nevertheless it just took so much longer to shoot.

You've shot some really intimate scenes with both Randeep and Arunoday. So who would you rate as a greater kisser?
(Laughs) I CANNOT inform you that there's. an American saying which goes, "You never kiss and tell."

Your lines have after all been dubbed within the film but how comfortable are you with Hindi as a language in general?
I just did an interview in Hindi and that i think it was horrible. But while shooting for Jism 2, I knew my lines in Hindi as I knew the script thoroughly. I HAVE BEEN out of shape speaking Hindi for the last 8 weeks now so I kinda suck right now.

How was it working with Pooja Bhatt?
We had a good time shooting. Pooja could be very diligent and she's worked really hard in this movie. She paid attention to each single detail knowing that she wants her actors to appear the most efficient in each frame.

You look in fab shape within the promos of the film. Did you're employed extra hard to appear your best in Jism 2?
It wasn't like I got suit for this actual character. Since that is my first film, I ACTUALLY desired to be within the best fitness level that I MAY possibly be which I FEEL any girl would need to do. Any girl would wish to appear the most productive on-screen in her debut film and while you look good and be ok with yourself, it shows to your self-esteem and confidence level as an actor as well.

How was the experience working along with your co-stars Randeep and Arunoday?
They're both good fun though Randeep could be very serious. He's in character just about all the time that is a rarity. He has worked really hard in this movie playing my ex-lover (laughs). Arunoday is a fun guy and always joking across the. three people worked and bonded as a team. We used to shoot a major scene and once it was done, we might finally end up cracking jokes and having numerous fun.

Prior to Jism 2, while growing up, have you ever been watching numerous Bollywood films?
I've spent half my life in Canada and half my life in LA. I've watched Bollywood films right since my childhood. If truth be told my whole family used to take a seat together and watch Bollywood films. Even now I HAVE BEEN watching numerous Hindi movies

Who are a few of your favourite B-Town actors and actresses?
I love Aishwarya Rai, she is lovely. I also like Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, they're both quite stunning.

And what in regards to the actors, who do you're thinking that is the freshest hunk in Bollywood?
Everyone always asks me this query. I FEEL Hrithik Roshan is truly cute and so is John Abraham. Salman Khan is often cute (laughs).

What are the qualities that attract you in a guy?
I have a look at their overall personality and the way they treat women. I'M an old-school romantic so I LOVE guys who open the doors of the auto for his or her women, take them out for great romantic dinners, give them flowers and candies etc. Basically I LOVE someone who could stay alongside of me (laughs)

You are in fact a well-known name within the adult entertainment industry. While you started off for your line, were there any apprehensions to start with?
When I BEGAN out, I never thought I'D reach where I'M today. On the time I DECIDED to model for Penthouse magazine, I DID NOT really give it much thought on what the sector will think. I just did what I WISHED to.

How do you look back at your Bigg Boss experience?
It was a fair experience. If you end up in the home and do not have access to any a part of the world, you think that it is the worst thing ever but in retrospect all of it happened for a plan. I met Bhatt saab whilst I USED TO BE at Bigg Boss and that one meeting has opened a complete new avenue for me, something which I never imagined.

Finally what are your expectations from Jism 2? Do you think that India is set for a bold film like this?
I don't really know what to anticipate. I just hope that individuals just like the story of the movie and do enjoy watching it. So far as the confidence is concerned, the film has got an A certificate so it's obviously for adults only. But it is not as bold as you think that it is.

The makers change the lyrics of Chitrangada Singh’s ‘Kaafirana’

36 year old Chitrangada Singh has gone raunchy and sensuous together with her hot Marathi item number in Shirish Kunder’s forthcoming ‘Joker’. The song is titled ‘Kaafirana’ and Shirish has himself worked at the lyrics of the song, but unfortunately some words went overboard and were charged of being offensive and vulgar.

As such, the makers of the film have changed the lyrics of the song “I want fakht you” to “I want just you” to circumvent any unwanted controversies. However, the words ‘Fakht You’ mouthed by Chitrangada within the song at the moment are Marathi words which mean “only you”.

“So everyone doesn’t are aware of it. They may be able to interpret it in any other way also. So, to avoid wasting that situation, they (filmmakers) decided to compliment ‘Just you’ and it's only as much fun, ” explained Chitrangada adding, “Some people found it (‘I want fakht you’) offensive, but that isn't the intention of the filmmakers in any respect. This is a family film and for kids.”

Chitrangada’s looks and sensuality within the song is being in comparison to that of Madhuri Dixit in ‘Humko Aajkal Hai Intazaar’ and Kareena Kapoor’s ‘Halkat jawani’. However, comparisons don't trouble her and he or she says, “Well, I FEEL comparisons are inevitable. Whatever you do, you can also dance just like the other person or not, there are guaranteed to be comparisons about whether you probably did ok otherwise you didn’t do adequate. But I BELIEVE it's great that that is the time for songs like this and that i think we've a perfect number.”

Sunny Leone appears within the new ad campaign for PETA

The ‘People for the moral Treatment of Animals’ (PETA) India have chosen Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone for his or her next ad campaign. This actual modern campaign shows Sunny in a white top with a wink standing next to the caption which reads:

‘Too Much Sex Is usually a Bad Thing. Sterilise your dogs and cats’.

The ad was shot by leading photographer Gaurav Sawn. Sunny, who was the 2003 Penthouse Pet of The Year, says, “I believe in not buying-and adopting. And it’s because there’s such a lot of dogs available in the market that want a home, that were left at the streets. They only need that love, and in the event you can rescue an animal, then that’s probably the most greatest gifts you'll be able to give.”

She further says, “I believe that each single dog must be spayed and neutered. You don’t need to continue the cycle of homeless dogs or cats. And spaying and neutering also keeps them healthy. It prevents them from having different diseases that they are able to get in the event that they are not.”

Short films purest type of filmmaking: Kashyap

By Hindustan Times

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap praises short films to the skies saying they're the most productive type of filmmaking because they aren't made with any particular motive in mind. "For me, short films are the purest type of filmmaking because when you're making it, you make it simply because you
want to. You aren't making it for it to be sold, you aren't deliberating an audience, you aren't taking into account anyone," the 39-year-old said here Sunday on the launch of the web site Largeshortfilms.com.

"You are just creating a film and hoping it's going to do something. You aren't making it to thrill anyone," he added.

The website can have filmmakers present a sequence of short films on the way to be officially premiered. Ad filmmaker and television producer Omar Haider is the person behind Largeshortfilms.com.

Kashyap, who's riding high at the success of Gangs of Wasseypur, believes that short films have a larger impact.

"Short films for me are largely director-driven and so they roughly converge to 1 point. Feature film may also be driven by many factors - cinematography, music, talent, story-telling and actors, you get the potential for everything. But short films are somehow to the purpose... they make one, solitary, larger impact," he said.

Losing the plot: Saif Ali Khan lied about signing Natalie Portman

By Hindustan Times

Expect Saif Ali Khan to bring forth humour off the screen in addition. Just when one thought that the actor was taking his lover boy image to the West as well, what with a movie without any lower than Natalie Portman being at the cards, here's the newest. The 'news' was nothing but a joke from Saif who chose to crack it after finding himself in the midst of all of the speculations, assumptions and rumours.

The proven fact that he was obviously 'high' (no pun intended) on Cocktail further made him calm down the entire more that made him 'reveal' this 'information' which was nothing but his strategy to 'entertain' himself for a change.

"Saif is apparent amused to peer such a lot being said and written about his personal life in addition to certain career decisions. Right from being married off to Kareena every second month to the newer dates being announced to the questions coming his way about playing a lover boy to truly getting probably the most biggest successes whenever he has wooed his girls on screen, Saif is finding himself within the thick of items. It was one such moment when a journalist asked him about his future plans and Saif decided to have some fun", says an in depth associate of the actor.

It was then when in place of coming with the denials or evasive answers, he built up a narrative around a movie with Natalie. After all, he just about knew that a quote stated by him in jest would truly make headlines and to a couple extent, this was also his own option to have some good time while being at the other side of the table.

"He was obviously grinning from ear to ear when everyone picked the scoop about Natalie and there has been a brand new round of speculations that started making the rounds. The most important question was around how did he actually make this Bollywood-Hollywood collaboration happen, especially when such a lot of other actors are said to be planning it without fail for years", the associate continues, "Saif's phone was ringing day in and night out for the last couple of days but he chose to maintain mum as this time across the amusement level took a special proportion."

However, Saif has now decided to wreck his silence otherwise all of the weekend would have gone into further media overdrive in regards to the film, something that he felt was avoidable.

THE APOLOGY
"It was a joke, I'M sorry", smiles Saif, "It's just that i'm very annoyed with speculations on the entire aspects of my life. If this goes on, I'D just start making up stories like these to entertain myself. Hope people will understand that."

Wishful thinking, lets say?

SAIF ON 'SIGNING' NATALIE

New generation will take us higher: Irrfan

By Hindustan Times

Irrfan Khan says that the brand new generation of filmmakers with a vision will put Bollywood on par with Hollywood. "THE BRAND NEW generation will do this and they'll become more ambitious to capture other markets, the best way Hollywood is doing," Irrfan told IANS when asked what is going to put Bollywood at the same pedestal as Hollywood.

"When you should have producers with vision who can explore the market, who need to usher in audience from different races, and that i don't mean NRI, that point the change will happen. At this time producers are very complacent. They have got market that's enough for them," he added.

The actor was was speaking at a session on the ongoing 12th Osian's Cinefan Film Festival that kicked off here Friday.

Recently, Hindi cinema has witnessed scripts like Delhi Belly and Vicky Donor getting overwhelming response on the box office and the 45-year-old credits audience for the change.

"Audience is seeking fresh subjects and attractive stories. They have got evolved. They're watching Hollywood movies and exploring," he said adding that the Indian viewers are forgiving in nature.

The actor, who's active in both - Bollywood and Hollywood, can be seen in Marc Webb's The fantastic Spider Man as Rajit Ratha. He says in any role there must be a correct mix of length and content.

"Length is typically important, however the content is vital too. You need to combine both. You can not do a role, which has a large number of content but just passes by in a second," Irrfan said.

"I enjoyed working with the director (Webb) and i'm happy for the director. He has done something very endearing and happy for the actors," he added.

I’m similar to a reporter: Madhur Bhandarkar

By Hindustan Times

With movies like Page 3 (2005) and Fashion (2008) behind him, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar believes he’s more of an investigative reporter than a director. As he prepares for the discharge of his ambitious project Heroine, on September 21, listed below are five hard-hitting questions for the film industry’s most media-friendly man.

Did numerous heroines from B-Town call you for Heroine?
Many actors called me, but Kareena and that i had desired to interact since our Chandni Bar (2001) days. She was destined to try this movie. She has proved her credibility. Bipasha, Konkona, Priyanka all did great jobs in my films, but this role was meant for Kareena and she or he excelled in portraying the nature I conceived.

Do you're thinking that your genre is realistic cinema, on account that your attempt at creating a comedy didn’t set the box office aflame?
I think Dil Toh Baccha Hain Ji (2011) did moderately well. We broke while far because the budget was concerned. I don’t make an try to do just realistic cinema. If I REALLY LIKE a subject, I AM GOING ahead with it. So some day you might even see me make a love story. Personally, I enjoy commercial and bigger than life movies.

Every time you are making a film, you expose the underbelly of that individual industry and spread awareness about issues. But you don’t provide solutions. Why?
I’m like a reporter. If a subject matter intrigues me, I WILL BE ABLE TO go all the way down to the very root of the problem. I DO KNOW a few of my films do spread awareness. But I can’t give my film a reel (as opposed to real) ending simply to provide solutions. I’ve always kept my films as real as possible, and that’s why I’ve created a distinct segment for myself.

Your films get critical appreciation and in addition bag National Awards. But do they make big profits?
I never overspend or make films with an exorbitant budget. Eighty per cent of my success is due to that.
Because I’ve created an audience for myself over the past 11 years, people who like and revel in my films watch them. And that i do break even and earn money so far as the movies are concerned.

Finally, can we see you're making a male-oriented film within the future?
Definitely. If I'VE a robust enough subject, you will find me do it. But don’t expect me to do it similar to that. I’m not here to set or follow trends. If I FEEL in a story, it will likely be made right into a film.

Sridevi revisits sensuous past?

By Hindustan Times

Sridevi will make her comeback in September this year with English Vinglish. And excluding working with French actor Mehdi Nebbou, the actor has apparently performed her famous sensuous rain number, Kaate nahi kat te… from Mr India (1987) for this project. Rumour has it that the song also features co-actor Amitabh Bachchan, who has a longer cameo within the film.

It’s learnt that the song was filmed during an outside schedule within the US and Canada, while it was snowing. Once we last checked, the film’s crew was discussing whether to incorporate the song of their final cut or simply use it for promotions, considering it was not shot on a certified camera. Despite several efforts, debutant director Gauri Shinde, director R Balki’s wife, couldn’t be contacted. She sent an SMS saying she was in a recording and wouldn’t be capable of speak.

In the meantime, the film will almost certainly be screened on the Toronto Film Festival in mid-September. Sridevi plans to take her daughters, Jhanvi and Khushi, together with her to Canada for the screening. “It’s Sridevi’s comeback film. And for her film to visit the Toronto Film Festival is a huge deal. We wish to take her daughters along,” says the spokesperson for the film.

Sridevi plays a housewife within the film. Her character enrolls for an English-speaking course to thrill her family. English Vinglish also features Adil Hussain. Nebbou will accompany Sridevi, Gauri and Balki to Canada. Earlier, Aamir Khan’s Laagan (2001) was screened on the same festival.

She, however, denied rumours of Reliance Entertainment producing her directorial venture saying: "I'VE written another film which was brought by Reliance. My directorial venture is probably not produced by Reliance as of now."

After writing the screenplays for films like Dhoka and Murder 2, she felt direction was the following obvious step.

"I desired to get into direction since past three years. Whilst you write screenplays, you write about visuals and other details. And whilst you see another person directing your work, you are inclined to feel you could have done it better," she said.

Will Akshay Kumar's Joker enter Rs. 100 crore club?

By Hindustan Times

This year, he has delivered two back-to-back blockbusters — Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore (RR). And though Akshay Kumar waltzed into the Rs.100-crore club with these two films, the bar’s been set low for his next, Joker.

The film have been sold for a trifling Rs.40 crore to distributors UTV Films. And with an important a part of the money already recovered through satellite and overseas rights, they should make just a little more from the theatre collections to make profits. UTV partnered with Akshay to supply RR, and this appears to be the actor’s way of unveiling gratitude. Joker is produced by Akshay’s Hari Om Entertainment along with.

Three’s Company (owned by Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder), and made on the cheap that’s reportedly between Rs.35 to Rs.40 crore. So, the film has essentially been sold to UTV at par. “Since Joker will attract the youngsters (the tale involves aliens and has numerous special effects), the film is certain to do well. With quite a lot of buzz around it already, the distribution company shouldn’t have any problems recovering the money,” says a source with regards to the film.

However, even before its release, the film is thought to have made around Rs.30 crore from different avenues, including satellite, home video and overseas rights. Insiders believe that satellite rights alone brought in around Rs.25 crore. “UTV has to make just a fraction of the money from theatrical revenues. And Akshay is excited because he doesn’t want anyone to lose money on Joker,” adds the source.

Insiders feel that the move was in order for Joker doesn’t need to make Rs.100 crore to become a blockbuster. “Since it's been sold for around Rs.40 crore, it may possibly become a large hit,” informs the source.Joker also features the similar lead pair as RR, that of Akshay and Sonkashi Sinha. “We are happy if people like our pair,” says Akshay, adding, “Joker is a distinct film because it deals with completely new genre.” The film have been directed by Shirish.

Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum opens well on the box office

By Hindustan Times

Riteish-Tusshar starrer Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum starts on a remarkable note because the film amasses Rs. 23.06 crore nett in its opening weekend. The film high on double meaning dialogues has appealed to the youth.

"Has done remarkable business, collecting a larger total than several biggies that opened earlier this year. Collected approx Rs. 23.06 cr nett in its opening weekend," trade expert Taran Adarsh writes for Bollywood Hungama.

"The film started with gusto on Friday [7.12 cr], was affected in some parts of the rustic as a result of heavy downpour on Saturday [7.03 cr], but witnessed outstanding growth on Sunday [8.91 cr]. The youth has taken to the film in a large way!" he adds.

Super Kool"Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum launched into an excellent start with the primary day average occupancy within the range of 60%-70%. This was just about as per the script because intense marketing and promotion for over six months had ensured that the Ekta Kapoor production would have some healthy numbers to show," writes Joginder Tuteja for Koimoi.com.

"The way Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum has found good patronage coming from the youth, it's now a given (as hinted last week itself) that 40 crores can be comfortably crossed. But the challenge now's to come back with regards to the 50 crore mark. With Jism 2 and Gangs of Wasseypur 2 as limited competition before Ek Tha Tiger arrives with all it’s fury, all eyes would now be on Ritesh Deshmukh and Tusshar Kapoor to ‘de’ some ‘macho’ impression over the weekdays as well," says Tuteja.

Sonakshi Sinha copies Madhuri Dixit?

By Hindustan Times

In 2000, Madhuri Dixit and Prabhudheva set the screen ablaze with their song Que sera sera in Pukar. The duo, both iconic dancers, also performed the moonwalk within the six-and-half minute number. And now, 12 years later, Prabhudheva will repeat the feat, dancing with Sonakshi Sinha, for an item number in Oh My God.

This makes Sonakshi the one female actor, except for Madhuri, who Prabhudheva has danced with in a Hindi film. The song, on the way to release on August 5, is a different Janmashtami number and have been choreographed by the actor-director himself.

Ask Sonakshi about matching steps with the South star and he or she says, “It was fantastic. When he’s within the same frame as you, it’s really difficult. There’s not much you are able to do in a situation like that but pull up your socks and provides it your best. With him, the bar is ready very, very high.” So, will the song be an actual replica of Madhuri’s number? Sonakshi says, “Not completely. The song from Pukar and this are different. Besides, this one is being in line with a Janmashtami theme.”

Naturally, the Dabangg (2010) star is delighted to join this song, but matching as much as Madhuri’s level couldn’t was a very simple task. Does she think she has done a fair job within the song? Sonakshi replies, “Being in comparison to Madhuri is the most important compliment I'LL ever get. She’s definitely an inspiration. I genuinely believe that she’s the most productive dancer to have graced the Hindi film industry.”

On being contacted, a spokesperson from Oh My God says, “We are hoping everyone enjoys this song and it receives the similar appreciation because the iconic Prabhudheva-Madhuri pairing.”

Pooja might need hired me because I'm a porn star: Sunny Leone

By Hindustan Times

Back in India to advertise her debut Hindi film, Sunny Leone says the following 10 days might be tough.

There were reports that you just were shy of filming intimate scenes.
I am not shy in any respect. The affection scenes in movies are like a choreographed dance. In Bollywood, the camera movement, actors’ placement, lights etc need to work in tandem. But in my world (adult film industry), you just press the record button and capture the moments. Here (Jism 2), there has been nothing to be uncomfortable about, it was rather about being used to it. I'VE my way of doing these scenes and Bollywood has its way.

In Bollywood, kissing and intimate scenes always make headlines. What do you think that of this brouhaha?
I have seen actors kissing and wearing with reference to nothing in intimate scenes here, though I do needless to say it’s a large deal in Indian movies. However, I also believe that the youth is able to watch something more forward than what their parents and grandparents watched. This stuff happen in bedrooms, but perhaps not much in public.

How good is your Hindi now?
(Laughs) I WILL memorise Hindi dialogue and recite them well. I understand Hindi, though it isn’t a part of my way of life. I DO KNOW I WOULD sound silly speaking it, but I’m going to provide it my best. And I’ll be speaking a large number of Hindi within the next couple of weeks and the interviews may well be pretty brutal, but I’m prepared for them.

Do you're thinking that there’s more take care of you being an adult star than your Hindi film debut?
That could be the explanation why Pooja (Bhatt, director) hired me. With all that was said once I first arrived here and on Bigg Boss, I FEEL that’s a part of the lure of Jism 2. We all know me as being a definite form of person. And though the point of interest is on who I'M and what I do in America, I just hope people will watch the movie (Jism 2) and say ‘wow she did an excellent job acting’ or ‘she worked hard’, which I did. I spent months learning the script and perfecting my Hindi. This was something modern to me, an enormous learning curve. I FOUND so much about myself and the way this industry works.

The film’s promo begins with a line — ‘I'M Izna, I am a porn star.’ And recently Pooja said in an interview that when she cast you, she changed the nature right into a porn star. Is that true?
I haven't any clue. I don’t know if that was what she was aiming for. You need to ask her that query. Nothing within the film is attached to me being an adult actor — no less than to not my knowledge. I haven’t said this sort of line. I usually say adult actress as I never say porn star anyway.

Rohit Shetty to rent South artistes for Chennai Express

By Hindustan Times

Bol Bachchan has entered the Rs.100 crore club and writer-director Rohit Shetty can now stay up for more Golmaal. No, he’s not able to crack Golmaal 4 yet, as he’s still to fasten on a script that may take the hit franchise forward. But he's gearing as much as board the Chennai Express with
Shah Rukh Khan. Buzz is that Deepika Padukone may be his leading lady. Rohit is non-committal, “No, one was finalised yet, but now that Shah Rukh is back from London, we’ll take a decision. You'll be able to expect a statement in a week.”

More than his heroine, Rohit has a larger casting call, choosing almost 50 actors who play significant characters on this reel life travelogue.

“Since the film charts a journey from Mumbai to Rameshwaram (Tamil Nadu), I WOULD LIKE among the ensemble cast to be from the south film industry. I NEED actors to appear and sound real, not speak south languages in Hindi accents,” reasons Rohit, revealing that to make Singham, set in Maharashtra, more authentic, he had cast 15 Marathi film actors, including Ashok Saraf, Sachin Khedekar, Sonali Kulkarni and Vijay Patkar. “It’s a huge task. We’ve been doing our homework well by watching a large number of south films.”

Chennai Express rolls on the end of September and will release mid-2013. For the reason that the Kolkata Knight Riders would be the defending champions next year, will Rohit pitch his film through the Indian Premier League Season 6? “That’s another decision Shah Rukh will take as a producer,” says the director.

Now, Halle Berry in a sari!

By Hindustan Times

Halle Berry joins the ranks of international celebrities who've been flaunting the desi look Indian fans of Halle Berry, 45, are in for a pleasing surprise. The primary extended trailer of Cloud Atlas, Berry’s upcoming sci-fi film with Tom Hanks, shows the Oscar-winning actor in a bright red sari.
Dressed in traditional Indian attire, complete with glass bangles and mehndi on her hands, Berry looks every inch a brand new Indian bride.

The trailer was released to much excitement among fans of the epic drama in response to a 2004 novel by the similar name, written by British author David Mitchell. The unconventional includes six stories that take the reader from remote South Pacific within the nineteenth century to a distant, post-apocalyptic future. The film, written and directed by The Matrix creators Lana and Andy Wachowski, also stars Susan Sarandon and Hugh Grant, and is scheduled for an October 26 release. 'Heroine' Kareena takes a dig at Katrina!

By Hindustan Times

Yes, after Deepika Padukone, it's Kareena Kapoor who has gone directly to take potshots at fellow actress Katrina Kaif and her foreign origin. But before you jump to conclusions, you ought to know that the digs are a part of Bebo's script in Heroine.

According to Zee News, Kareena takes jibes at another actress with remarkable similarities to Katrina in a single of the scenes from the film. Apparently, while interacting with a journalist within the scene, the 'Heroine' made fun of the actress, claiming that the latter got successful only because her boyfriend (Salman Khan) was a large star.

Not just this, Bebo even remarks on how the actress' passport need to be checked to spot her real name, age and country of origin. Interestingly, rumour has it that even the woman playing the 'foreign' actress is meant to resemble Katrina.

Kareena was reportedly reluctant to try this scene (possibly for its glaring insinuations), but was convinced by director Madhur Bhandarkar who reasoned that several aspiring actresses did come to India to take a look at their luck in films.

Katrina's passport had become a much-talked about issue when Deepika Padukone had quipped about it on Koffee With Karan. Sonam Kapoor, too had taken digs at Katrina's dressing sense on the Cannes film festival.

Is Katrina making Bollywood heroines insecure along with her growing fanbase and demanding acclaim? The cost of popularity, we guess!

An Indian bunny within the mansion!

By Hindustan Times

Well, I ASSUMED to myself because the car swung into the drive of the Juhu hotel during which I USED TO BE scheduled to fulfill my interviewee, well, that is unprecedented.

I have written about a wide variety of people, you see, from Nobel Prize winners to champion sportsmen, from criminals to beauty queens, but never have I written about someone who has modelled for Playboy magazine. Moreover, I HAVEN'T first made acquaintance with someone’s unclothed photographs at the internet, and only then met that somebody in person for the primary time.

But it is a unique interviewee in every kind of the way. Sherlyn Chopra, 25, is the primary Indian to have modelled naked for Playboy. She is the primary Indian to have put out at the social networking site, twitter, naked photos that show her frolicking on the Playboy Mansion within the company of the mighty mag’s formidable team of stylists, photographer and inventive directors. EVERY WEEK once I meet her, she is going to become the primary person I DO KNOW of to carry a press conference, within the packed auditorium of a five-star hotel, to proclaim how comfortable she is in her skin, and the way she's going to be the primary Indian to grace the magazine’s cover. (Playboy officially neither confirms nor denies the bit in regards to the cover, while conceding that it was a “delight” to work with her.)

In this unfolding real-time reality show, the role of the web in general, and twitter in particular, can't be overemphasised. Twitter is where – as we all know – Sherlyn first posted her pictures. Twitter is the platform she is using to converse with people. And it's where she is being subjected to a barrage of abuse.

In the brief time that the photographs were on twitter (Playboy asked her to take them down), hindustantimes.com managed to get them and put them up at the website. The photos went viral.

The evening before I met Sherlyn, two things happened. Another nude photo leaked on twitter. Questions were raised about whether this was the image she had sent to Playboy as a part of her portfolio. And Hugh Hefner, the 86-year-old founding father of Playboy, tweeted: ‘Bollywood starlet Sherlyn Chopra would be the first Indian to look nude in Playboy, within the November issue.’ Ah, confirmation.

When we meet within the hotel suite, Sherlyn is in a black top, ripped jeans, and suede boots with pencil heels. A YSL belt with an outsized buckle cinches her waist.

Once our photo shoot is over, I ask her about how shooting for Playboy was different from – with the exception of within the most blatant way – other shoots she has done. “Oh, it was probably the most fun time I'VE had in my life. We'd start at 10.30am after some Jack Daniels and vodka. Never have I done a shoot with such confidence and joy. The ambience made me feel comfortable.” Our shoot was a little less adventurous, and, manifestly less fun.

Before the interview, I had reread in Martin Amis’s The Moronic Inferno the essays on Hefner and Hefnerland. “The man-made, bloodheat rockpool, the jacuzzi -infested grotto, the mini-zoos with their hunched, peanut-addict monkeys…“ Like other interviewers, , Amis points out that Hefner never rises before mid-afternoon. “No,” Sherlyn says. “No. I saw him once within the morning?” She has acquired – or has always had, like many young, urban Indians – the Valley Girl lilt, the imperative to show an announcement right into a question. When she talks about Hefner, her tone turns reverential.

She met Hefner the day after she arrived on the Mansion. “I was told that Mr Hefner loves to see a girl wearing essentially the most feminine way possible.” This must presumably be when Hefner formally meets them in person for the primary time, because, by all accounts, he prefers them undressed and splayed in as some ways possible in his magazine and DVDs. “I desired to wear a jumpsuit, nevertheless it was suggested that I wear a brief dress or a night gown.”

She selected the quick dress. Then they played dominoes. “We all needed to put money at the table for the sport? Mr Hefner put $5 at the table on my behalf. And that i lost.” It seems like a terrible betrayal of confidence.

Playboy, and appearing in it, was much on Sherlyn’s mind over time. In 2009, she had sent the magazine her photographs. She were asked to turn up for a tribulation. “I panicked and didn’t go. I didn’t know if I’d have the ability to do it, if I’d be capable of get back and live here on this country.”

So what changed within the intervening three years? Was desperation added to ambition to take inhibition out of the equation? She thinks for a very long time about phrase her answer. “Earlier I USED TO BE afraid of my folks in Hyderabad? About what folks would say… Something changed after Big Boss [the truth TV show that she entered and was evicted from in 2009]. I ENDED worrying about people; I BEGAN thinking that I'D be answerable only to myself.”

Which is something you had better persist with doing when many of us on twitter are asking you: “You are a whore. How much do you charge per night?” Sherlyn started by responding to the abuse. Now she simply lets or not it's. How does she feel about it? She answers, but later texts back precisely what she had meant when she said what she had said: “If total freedom comes with the perceived notion of being a whore, then so be it.”

Today, she is known. (OED: ‘famous’– adjective; known about by many of us) But famous is something she has desired to be for plenty of years, and something she have been striving for. When she was young, her parents fought so much. She grew up amid domestic violence. Then, they separated. She was, she says, “always a daddy’s girl”. Her father kicked the bucket in 2005. That may be when she left Hyderabad for Mumbai. “I desired to escape. It wasn’t easy to live with my mother under one roof.”

What has her mother needed to say concerning the turn her life has taken? “I haven’t spoken to her. The last I spoke to her was on May 7.” (She went to La for the shoot on July 2.) Her sister, a DJ in Hyderabad, have been supportive. “She always encouraged me to be a go getter.”

Which is what she tried to be in her first, struggling years in Mumbai. It wasn’t easy.

There isn't any count of the Bollywood aspirers who happen a week in Mumbai, who happen within the city of dreams, and stick with it dreaming. There's no count either of these who, when their dreams are shattered, change into husks of themselves. But then, without ambition, without the dreaming, without that stroke of luck to back talent, where would anyone be?

Sherlyn acted in a couple of low-budget films. She modelled. She put out her own line of merchandise. She got nowhere. She sits back, shuts her eyes and massages her temples when she remembers those times. “It was essentially the most painful a part of my life. I USED TO BE vulnerable. I took whatever work came my way. I got serious about messed up, partially abusive relationships.”

She also got caught in a vicious cycle. “I did B-list films because I couldn’t find A-list ones. After which once I approached A-list directors with the experience I had gained, I USED TO BE told that it was too late because I had done B-list films.” And the years were slipping by.

Sherlyn Chopra

Until now. If only time might be frozen at this instant. Unless what's to follow is more remarkable. There's the money, in fact. She won’t say how much, but does speak of the way much she covets money. “Power derives from money. I always desired to make some huge cash on my own, to have power from that.” There'll be promotions back in Los Angeles, and DVDs and appearances at events.

Writing in 1985, Amis said a Playboy Playmate of the Year on the time got “$100,000, a brand new car (not a pink Porsche or a crimson Cadillac but a dinky black Jaguar), and the title itself”. Sherlyn isn't a Playmate. Hers is without doubt one of the series of “celebrity pictorials” – the phrase utilized by Playboy’s publicity department – the magazine features.

Playboy didn't say what appearing in a single of these fetches. But as with cricketers who play for India, the actual money isn't within the one shoot, however the endorsements and promotional work that the shoot engenders. After I got involved with Playboy’s publicity department last week, I USED TO BE told that it was too early to cite them at the matter. It seemed as if it might be best that I don’t quote them on not with the ability to quote them.

Soon after, though, seeing the extent of interest in Sherlyn on this a part of the world, Playboy’s (money)wise women and men might well have understood that the problem could also be worth milking very quickly. The web site put out a promo for Sherlyn: “Coming soon to Playboy Magazine and Playboy.com, a historic nude pictorial of Bollywood sensation Sherlyn Chopra, the primary Indian woman to look within the magazine.”

So this, for Sherlyn, might be the start of a slightly different career from the only she envisaged when she arrived in Mumbai. She says that the burlesque artist, Dita Von Teese, is making an adult film, and he or she has made her interest within the project known. The adult movie industry – lucrative but fragile – is also a technique to move. Other options tend to appear.

In The Post Office Girl, the posthumously published, harrowing masterpiece concerning the power of cash by the Austro-Hungarian author, Stefan Zweig, the novel’s heroine, Christine – a wretchedly impoverished, provincial girl who works within the local post office – travels to urbane Vienna. There, she sees the moneyed people swanning about in expensive shops and restaurants. “They’re the same, she thought. There’s not much between us. There’s some way up somewhere, somewhat step to climb, you’ve just got to seek out it.”

Sherlyn has found that way. She has climbed that step. From here, the vista appears filled with allure. What she does with those prospects, and what people who find themselves empowered to bring those prospects to fruition do with her, will define the following chapter of her story.

Where did Kareena Kapoor's fat go in Heroine poster?

By Hindustan Times

Not long ago, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar enthusiastically tweeted Kareena Kapoor’s look from Heroine, complete along with her curves and a roll of fat protruding from the seams of her blouse. Of course, he forgot that after his guys would release the film’s poster with the similar look, they’d digitally get rid of every piece of visible flab, giving her an unnaturally perfect waist. And alas, the act is now facing flak at the same time as the poster tops popularity charts.

Ditto with the brand new Raaz 3 poster that has ghosts feeling up a flawless, flat-stomached Bipasha Basu.

“It isn't real,” says a post under the Raaz 3 poster. “She looks fantastic yet fake,” reads another post. Reaction to Kareena’s technically perfected pose aren't any different. “Small flaws make an individual attractive ... why are they distorting reality? It’s impossible for her waist to be that narrow with none fold at that angle,” reads a comment.

While Heroine maker Madhur Bhandarkar chooses to not comment, Raaz 3 director Vikram Bhatt says, “This is utter rubbish. Bipasha may be very hard working and has one of the most fittest bodies; not iota of Photoshop was utilized in the poster.” Publicity designer Rahul Nanda has an evidence for the practice: “Film art is a special ball game, you can’t compare it with real pictures.”

Spot the difference
The picture at the right is the only Bhandarkar tweeted while the film’s song Halkat Jawaani was being shot. Within the film’s poster at the left, the roll of fat and the tiny tummy bulge are missing. Also, don’t miss the improved curve at the cup of the blouse.

When is John Abraham’s wedding?

By Hindustan Times

John Abraham seems to have learnt a trick that no other Bollywood star has quite discovered — stay within the news for just your work, while managing to maintain your private life, well, private.

He received kudos from all and sundry as he turned film producer with Vicky Donor earlier this
year. Now, fellow actors are filled with praise for his portrayal of gangster Manya Surve within the upcoming Shootout At Wadala. Yet, the only thing that he’s managed to circumvent discussions on is his impending marriage with girlfriend Priya Runchal.

Even because the upcoming Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor wedding continues to have enough drama to rival an Indian soap opera, John has managed to maintain things quiet. And we learn that he doesn’t intend to head the big, fat celeb wedding way either. “Although the media and fans need to know about his marriage, it’s in all probability to be an overly personal affair. He won’t keep it under wraps (once he's married), but since he's an overly private person, not many will realise when it happens,” says an insider.

Though the marriage is ready to happen this year (as confirmed by John in an earlier interview), no date has apparently been fixed. Ask John and he responds briefly: “When I AM GETTING married, I don’t know the way many of us gets to know.”

John and Priya’s relationship started after his much-publicised breakup with ex-girlfriend Bipasha Basu last year.

At this point, John’s focus appears to be strictly on his role as Manya Surve in Sanjay Gupta’s film. Ask him about Manoj Bajpayee praising his work and he says, “As an actor, you’re always hungry for appreciation. And if such words come from someone like Manoj, you are feeling positive.” Even Anil Kapoor, it seems, has told him that the film might be “game changer” for him.

In October, John will shoot for the political thriller, Jaffna, in Sri Lanka, Kerala, London and Delhi.

Biker chick Deepika Padukone!

By Hindustan Times

Bollywood’s leading ladies continue to fuel male fantasies. After all, who doesn’t just like the idea of an attractive woman who's tough enough to master a boy’s favourite toy — the motorbike. Anushka Sharma did it in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), Katrina rode one in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011). Of course, Gul Panag actually owns and rides bikes regularly.

The latest to enroll in the crowd of pretty biker girls is Deepika Padukone. Because the face of a bike brand, Deepika was required to merely master their newly launched scooterette for an ad shoot. However the girl’s decided to head the process acting way by learning to ride a heavier geared bike before shooting for the television commercial.

“Although Deepika is the face of the company’s new scooterette collection, she's going to opt for bike lessons. She desires to master the skill of riding a troublesome vehicle first in order that a scooter will automatically become easier for her to handle,” says an insider.

“In the approaching few days, she's going to find time for the lessons.” The two-wheeler company, it seems, has hired special trainers who may be giving Deepika riding lessons.

It also seems that her role because the wild child Veronica in Cocktail might need something to do with the endorsement. The bike company felt that since she played a free spirit, she is going to be a super fit for the scooterette geared toward young girls.

When contacted, Deepika confirmed the inside track. Her spokesperson adds, “She is operating out her schedule to peer if she will take out a couple of days for the teachings. She doesn’t wish to come upon as a novice within the commercial.”

Deepika’s Desi Boyz (2011) co-star John Abraham could also be the face of the similar brand.

Interview - Can’t make profits like male actors: Kareena Kapoor

By Hindustan Times

The first look of 1 of the year’s most awaited films, Heroine, is out, and understandably, the heroine herself, Kareena Kapoor, is ecstatic. While she reckons the film will mark a turning point in her career, she is brutally honest in admitting that she is unlikely to rival the box office collections of Bollywood’s leading men.

Heroine is a movie practically riding in your shoulders. Do you think that your film can enter the coveted Rs.100-crore club?
No, I genuinely don’t think so. We don’t get the type of budget that male actors can we. get an affordable budget, and we benefit from it. I just hope we do well. But I don’t think I’ll garner the similar profits as male actors do.

The film releases to your birthday, September 21. Your idol Sridevi’s film, English Vinglish, releases at the same day. Do you're feeling a way of competition?
I idolise her (Sridevi). But I just intend to make it clear that I'M HOPING both films do well… mine slightly more.

The trailer portrays the media because the devil...
It isn’t portrayed like that during all of the film. In that scene, I’m instigated by the media, that's why my reaction is how it is [she is shown lashing out at a touchy question]. In real life, I don’t give it (media reports) much thought anymore.

Your director Madhur Bhandarkar is media-friendly. You’re the precise opposite.
I’m an excessively guarded person. I’m nothing like my character Mahi Arora. I’m not as bold. I’m protective about my emotions, although I’m over-emotional every now and then. I REALLY LIKE to maintain a gradual head on my shoulders.

In an earlier interview to HT Café, you had mentioned waiting for working in Ram Leela with Sanjay Leela Bhansali (“…I’ll look back after TWENTY YEARS with fond memories”). What went wrong?
I’ve always desired to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Unfortunately, we differed on contractual issues, and some things didn’t determine between our managers. I TRULY was looking ahead to it.

Do you spot yourself working with Bhansali anytime within the future?
Well, a minimum of I'M HOPING to. This project didn’t work out, but hopefully another opportunity will arise soon.
