Department will be RGV's most stylish film: Rana Daggubati

By Hindustan Times

Ram Gopal Varma's past few projects have didn't rock the box office, but actor Rana Daggubati, who has teamed up with the director in Department, is confident that the film will develop into certainly one of his most fashionable movies.

"Ramu (Varma) dabbles in numerous genres of movies. He's excellent along with his work, and has a beautiful storytelling pattern, that is in most cases trendsetting. His film Satya broke stereotype, and corporate gave Vivek Oberoi this sort of great launchpad...I think Department may be certainly one of his most classy film ever shot," Rana told IANS.

In Department, the southern star might be seen as a grungy policeman - a job that was earlier reserved for Abhishek Bachchan. The film's characters include a don, a gangster, a gangster-turned-politician, and shootout specialists. No wonder it was exciting for Rana to work in it!

"I think Ramu is one filmmaker who has complete understanding of the topic he tackles in his films and loves to accumulate extensive knowledge before venturing out into each theme. Be it underworld or another subject, his films speak of the research he does.

"Usually Ramu shoots his films quickly, but he has spent numerous time on Department, that is great. It is a project just about him, and it's been an incredible experience working with him," he added.

Rana, who made his Bollywood debut in Dum Maro Dum, could be seen with Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt within the movie, releasing May 18.

He may be upbeat in regards to the action sequences within the film.

"Department is a heavy-duty action film. I trained so much for it, and the learning was just within the gym. It had so much to do with marshall arts, and that i easily had 10 to fifteen action sequences. So it was fun," said the 27-year-old.

Meanwhile he has also been thinking about the dubbing of Telugu film Naa Ishtam, wherein he's paired opposite the recently-married Genelia D'Souza.

"I play a young, brash boy in Naa Ishtam....very different from Department, by which each line that my character says, is measured. Naa Ishtam is a commercial project...I am playing my age, and it was wonderful to work with Genelia. She is much more matured than I am, but we had a perfect time," said the actor, who enjoys the varied content offered to him.

"I made an unconventional debut with Dum Maro Dum. As a launch film, it was different versus others, who would opt for a romantic project. So I'M happy," he added.

R3.5 lakh hung off movie hoarding!

By Hindustan Times

Mumbai, Feb. 29 -- Should you were walking around Juhu yesterday, you'll have realised that cash doesn't grow on trees it hangs off billboards. To advertise their upcoming release Paan Singh Tomar, production house UTV Films risked losing R3.5 lakh in cash, which they strung up on a prominent hoarding opposite a Juhu coffee shop.

Confirming the news, Shikha Kapur, senior vicepresident of UTV Motion Pictures, says, "As Irrfan plays a robber within the film, we e film, we hought it might be a pleasant innoation within the outdoor advertising space. We're pegging it (the money bounty) as Paan Singh's loot. "

The production house claims to have made the desired arrangements to give protection to their stash, which was hoisted onto the poster opposite popular haunt Costa Coffee around noon. Shikha says, "RELATING TO security, there have been people posted across the hoarding, though they were wearing casual clothing."

The experiment only lasted for a short lived spell, because the filmmakers didn't wish the pile of money to draw any unwanted trouble. "We only put it up for a few hours, and took it down by 3 pm. We're aware that we cannot keep the money up there until the film releases," admits Shikha.

DN Nagar resident Rafiq Ahmed, who witnessed some adventurous opportunists scaling the billboard, says, "We saw a bag stuffed with money hanging from the hoarding. We thought that it was fake, but if some people tried climbing the poles of the hoarding to get the money, we realised that it was real." Passer-by Sahil Patel stopped his car to get a greater glimpse of the hoarding. "THERE HAS BEEN a lot of excitement at the ground as people were looking up on the cash hanging there. I wish I knew climb," he says. Within the Tighmanshu Dhuliadirected film, Irrfan Khan takes at the role of the real-life dacoit.

No Warne for Royals!

By Hindustan Times

Mumbai, Feb. 29 -- He coached and captained Rajasthan Royals successfully within the first edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008. But last year, champion leg spinner Shane Warne announced his retirement from professional cricket. Soon after, the Royals stated that they're "looking ahead to him assuming a bigger role within the team".

But at the same time as the fifth edition of IPL gets set to kick-off in April, team co-owner Raj Kundra says Shane "has had his innings (with Rajasthan Royals)". "HE'S doing his own thing and is busy together with his girlfriend (Liz Hurley)," says Kundra, adding, "Shane was with us for four years, and he have been great. But we have to move on and provides Rahul Dravid (new captain) an opportunity. He's a perfect idol, and that's the reason why all of the kids lookup to him." But isn't Rahul seen as a player who doesn't fit the IPL mould?

"Hence we kept him for a year with Shane. We believe he has the prospective to captain the team," says Kundra, adding, "Still we needed to persuade Rahul to become the captain. but we feel he's going to deliver. The primary reason being he got an opportunity to experience how Shane worked in an out-of-the-box manner. Plus, he comes together with his own mindset. He's a focused cricketer, very disciplined and his training is best than anyone I DO KNOW within the cricketing world."

At the similar time, Kundra accepts that the absence of Pakistani players has hit his team. "It definitely hit us but it's 20-20 cricket and that's the reason entertainment and never pure cricket. So, the team that comes first twelve months can finally end up on the last position within the next and vice versa. This year, now we have picked up a few good Sri Lankan players, and Brad Hodge and S Sreesanth. So, we have now a pleasing mix," he says.

Blood Money not an erotic thriller: Mahesh Bhatt

By Hindustan Times

The leaked intimate scene from Blood Money was not marketing strategy, says Mahesh Bhatt adding that the film doesn't belong to the erotic thrillers genre like Murder and Jism. "IT'S NOT THAT I AM happy. Considered one of our over-enthusiastic PR person thought that leaking it will benefit the film. But these items send a wrong signal about. I USED TO BE never apologetic in regards to the types of films we make. Like Murder and Jism are erotic thrillers. But, Blood Money isn't a made from that profile," the 63-year-old said here while promoting the film at a radio station.

"Because of those wrong signals, people think there's a lot of erotica within the film. Someone who doesn't like watching all these films is not going to come and someone who will come expecting erotica might be disappointed. I FEEL it has done us more harm than good," he added.

Directed by Vishal Mahadkar, Blood Money stars Kunal Khemu and Amrita Puri and hits theatres March 30.

Meanwhile, comparisons are being drawn between Blood Money and Bhatt's 1986 film Naam as both films discuss a middle-class boy who treads the incorrect path in his pursuit to earn money.

The filmmaker says that they're similar, but only to an extent as both are about sin-money.

"Naam handled lower, middle-class Indian dream. Those were the times in 1980s, when everybody thought that when you reach Dubai or Middle-East, you were guaranteed a decent, secure way of living. But this (Blood Money) deals with a rather upper strata. It talks a few one that has dreams in his eyes and the arena of Rolls Royce and luxurious homes. But it surely is all built on something that is sin-money," said Bhatt who's also gearing up for Jism 2.

Hollywood trainer wants to work with Farhan Akhtar

By Hindustan Times

Hollywood trainer Ed Chow, who trained celebrities like Clive Owen and Lucas Till, says he would like to work with Farhan Akhtar, who was training hard for his next film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. "I USED TO BE really lucky to fulfill Aishwarya Rai when she was engaged on The Last Legion with Colin Firth. There are actors like Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and Sara Khan. And I'd love to work with Farhan Akhtar - I've seen a few of his work and that i really liked it," Chow said in an e-mail interaction.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is a biopic on legendary athlete Milkha Singh and Farhan is currently undergoing special training for his lead role within the movie. Similarly American actress Lynn Collins needed to undergo a set regime for her role as Dejah Thoris in John Carter, releasing in India March 9.

John Carter is ready a person who gets transported to Mars and gets caught between 12-foot-tall barbarians. Collins plays a princess and her role was quite physical with a large number of wirework, stunts and sword fights. So numerous preparation was required from her end, says Chow.

"It was a three-month routine with plenty of one- to two-hour-long training sessions, five to 6 times every week. It comprised taekwondo, fight training, boxing and kick-boxing on pads and focus-mitts for cardio.

"We worked on ab-workouts and core to arrange Lynn for the wirework she had to do for stunts, and free-weights and machines focussing on different parts of the body each session. We also did a large number of plyometrics to make her legs strong," shared Chow.

The celebrity trainer says there has been added deal with Collins' muscles, which made his job tougher.

"(Her character) Dejah Thoris has a large number of tattoos on her body and so they were painted on Lynn on a daily basis of filming. We wanted the muscles to really show throughout the tattoos; so we focussed on getting numerous definition in her muscles," he said.

According to Chow, Collins "was very focussed herself".

"She worked out each day on her days off and most days on set besides. It wasn't necessary as she had that down herself," he said.

So what's it like training popular faces?

"They are great to coach. Celebrities are very highly motivated, extremely focussed and intensely hardworking. They're going to work very, very hard to get what they want for a part," he said.

What a couple of few general fitness tips for those that want to get fit figures like celebrities?

"Fitness is definitely about doing something regularly, each week. It's about making the time to do something - like an exercise or a sport that you just enjoy.

"Diet is very important too - maintaining a healthy diet food, small portions time and again an afternoon in preference to three big meals an afternoon and keeping carbohydrates down. I do believe in satisfying food cravings but it surely must be in proportion. So if in case you have a sweet tooth, it's ok to have a small piece of chocolate, but you can not have a complete chocolate cake," he said.

Batman crowned ‘greatest comic hero’

By Hindustan Times

Batman have been named the best comic hero of all time in a poll conducted by a magazine.

The readers of Comic Heroes magazine voted for the caped crusader, the alias of billionaire Bruce Wayne, as their top comic hero, sooner than Spider-Man and Superman, who came second and third respectively.

The magazine isn't the first to rank heroes from the arena of comics. In 2008, Empire magazine put Superman on top, followed by Batman and John Constantine, the exorcist created by Alan Moore, while the person of Steel also topped a listing from IGN.

But Comic Heroes editor Jes Bickham said it was “no surprise” that Batman came in at #1 because the character, created in 1939 by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, was, “quite simply, the best and best superhero ever created”.

“Batman doesn’t have superpowers; he gets by together with his mind, his wit and his physical abilities,” the Guardian quoted Bickham as saying.

“He’s dark, conflicted and tragic, yet never not up to the most efficient folks. He’s got the most efficient costume and the best gadgets.

“His rogues’ gallery is probably the most frightening and freakish number of villains ever assembled; a cavalcade of criminality unmatched in modern comics.

“He’s also strong enough to suit almost any story, being constantly remoulded by writers and artists since his creation in 1939,” the editor added.

Wolverine, the adamantium-clawed mutant from X-Men, is available in fourth in Comic Heroes’ top 10, followed by Judge Dredd. Tintin makes a surprise appearance in sixth place, with the list rounded out by Captain America, a token woman within the shape of Wonder Woman, The Spirit and The Thing.

Comic Heroes’ top 10 comic heroes of all time are:

1. Batman

2. Spider-Man

3. Superman

4. Wolverine

5. Judge Dredd

6. Tintin

7. Captain America

8. Wonder Woman

9. The Spirit

10. The Thing

Kareena Kapoor to do the ‘Munni’ act in ‘Dabangg 2′

Item numbers became the newest rage among Bollywood beauties. After Katrina Kaif giving a run for money to all item girls together with her sensuous moves as Sheila and Chikni Chameli, the most recent Bollywood lady to enroll in the article girl bandwagon is Kareena Kapoor. Bebo has already shown her moves with ‘Chammak Challo’ and ‘Dil Mera Muft Ka’, but this may increasingly be the primary time she's going to be doing a pure item number for forthcoming ‘Dabangg 2’.

Where Malaika Arora took the fans off their feet along with her ‘Munni’ act, Kareena could be following the similar line, this time on a bunch to be composed by either Lalit Pandit or Sajid-Wajid. The primary schedule of Dabangg 2 begins on March 9.

We will sort it out like men: Saif Ali Khan

By Hindustan Times

Actor Saif Ali Khan, who was concerned about a much-publicised brawl with businessman Iqbal Meer Sharma recently, says he desires to avoid going to court to sort the problem. “There have been an excessive amount of noise about it, so we can sort it out between ourselves like men.” The 41-year-old actor also hopes his forthcoming film, Agent Vinod, is “not adversely suffering from the incident”. “It’s going to be terribly unfair to everybody who has worked on it. I FEEL people don’t watch films out of affection for actors only, they watch movies out of affection for movies," says Khan.

While Sharma has gone back to South Africa to take care of his business, he says he doesn’t wish to touch upon Saif’s statements. Sharma’s wife, actor Tarina Patel, too says, “My husband doesn’t wish to reply to everything Saif has to mention. The episode have been very hard for him.” Sharma’s friend, who wishes to not be named, says that Sharma is not going to conform to an out-of-court settlement. “He will only take the legal recourse.”

Saif says he was touched by fellow actor Salman Khan’s public support for him after the incident. “Salman made my darkest hours easier to cope with and it’s really roughly him,” he says.

Meanwhile, Saif desires to keep the point of interest on Agent Vinod. He says that he doesn't plan to head for an over-hyped publicity for his film. “Americans don’t go ballistic like us after they promote their films. All they do is to announce their film, do an excellent amount of promotion and that’s it. I BELIEVE sometimes we go overboard,” he says. Actor-couple Saif and Kareena Kapoor, who star within the movie, can be doing joint promotions only within the last week before the film’s release.

Iqbal’s wife lashes out at Kareena Kapoor

Iqbal Sharma’s wife, actor Tarina Patel, has hit back at Saif Ali Khan’s girlfriend Kareena Kapoor for calling Sharma publicity hungry.

“My husband isn't some star-struck foreigner in India. He comes from the most important political family in South Africa; he's Fatima Meer’s (the late anti-apartheid activist) nephew. Why should he know Saif or Kareena? He knows who Amitabh Bachchan is, or even Shah Rukh Khan. Beyond that, my husband or the remainder of my family don’t know (anyone) from the industry, and nor do they care,” she said in an interview to Mumbai Mirror. Kareena had earlier said that Saif was provoked by Sharma. ‘I am sorry about Bebo’s stress level as a result of our objection to their volume level,” she added.

New 'Sridevi' for Ajay's 'Jeetendra'!

By Hindustan Times

Mumbai, Feb. 28 -- Ajay Devgan will soon begin work in Sajid Khan's ext, which in keeping with the director, is predicated" at the" cult Jeetendra film, Himmatwala (1983). Whilst the actor prepares to shoot for the action flick, the makers continue their hunt for a 'new Sridevi' to cast opposite him.

The latest development is they have decided to rope in an actor from the south for the role. "Our heroine will need to have the similar purity and innocence that Srideviji had in Himmatwala.

She was a superstar down south when she was cast for it. After which she entered Bollywood in a large way. In order that has inspired us to cast a south Indian star. I've spoken to Ajay and he's fine with that," reveals Sajid, adding that not too many established Bollywood actors fit the necessities needed for the role, that's why none are within the running.

Sajid, who has worked with Asin in Housefull 2, also credits her professionalism for his decision to select a south Indian face. "If the decision time (for south actors) is seven o'clock within the morning, they are going to be ready at the moment sans any issues."

Himmatwala -set in a small town of Uttar Pradesh goes at the floors this August. "Ajay could have a large number of raw and rugged action scenes within the film. Nevertheless it won't be like Singham or any of his other movies. He's quite fascinated with it himself," says Sajid, who has also roped in Rishi Kapoor and Prakash Raj for the opposite major roles within the film.

"Rishi Kapoor will do a comic book role after a while," says Sajid. Elevate the subject of his film being touted as a 'remake' and he clarifies, "THE ONE thing I WILL BE ABLE TO say about my film is that it's according to the yesteryear film. Otherwise, it is a completely new story in a modern set-up."

Anushka freaks out on Vishal's sets!

By Hindustan Times

Mumbai, Feb. 28 -- Anushka Sharma has always had a phobia about bikes, so she was petrified when she needed to hop directly to one, riding pillion with Imran Khan in the course of the shoot of Vishal Bhardwaj's Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola.

The two actors are working together for the primary time and earlier than the scene, Imran was talking endlessly about his newly bought Ferrari. He even zoomed off on a brief ride to get a feel of the Bullet. Seeing him drive the bike at jet speed, Anushka flatly refused to leap on.

She was eventually coaxed by production members but once Imran picked up speed, she began screaming asking him to forestall. "She freaked out completely, convinced that she would fall off the bike," says a source present at the set. "Everyone, including Vishal, was laughing, convinced it was a joke. Only Imran realised that Anuksha was petrified and took her off for coffee."

After half an hour's chat with her, Imran realised Anushka's fears were for real and confident her that he wouldn't let anything happen to her. They went for the take. Imran didn't accelerate till needed. The shot was okayed and Anushka's fears laid to rest.

Madonna in bare essentials on new cover!

By Hindustan Times

Pop queen Madonna looks her seductive best at the cover of her new single, as she poses in a black, barely-there brassiere. The woman just like the name of her latest single from her forthcoming studio album MDNA, has gone wild at the cover flaunting her toned stomach. "The barely-there outfit is to be expected of a girl who repeatedly sings about sex in songs like Like A Virgin, Justify My Love and Erotica. The black, triangle-shaped lace bra doesn't hide much, and really nearly leaves the superstar exposed," reports Daily Mail.

"She doesn't cover up in other articles of clothing, either, flaunting most of trim and toned stomach. Her mouth is open in a suggestive pose, and her blonde locks are artfully tousled. Everything concerning the cover is suggestive, including the title," says the tabloid.

Girls Gone Wild is a video series created by Joe Francis where college-age girls perform various sexual acts on camera.

"Girl Gone Wild is all concerning the heat of letting loose and dancing, certainly themes that Madge fans will find familiar. Produced by Benny Benassi, the track, though fun and funky, is somewhat darker than her first single, which appeared to pay homage to the '80s version of the pop icon in its bright nature," reports MTV.

Freida strips for sexiest photoshoot ever!

By Hindustan Times

Since catapulting to fame with Slumdog Millionaire four years ago, Freida Pinto is lauded as the most effective dressed and frequently features at the ‘most beautiful women within the world’ lists.

But in a glossy new photoshoot, the 27-year-old Indian actor has revealed her rarely seen sexy side as she posed suggestively in a vest and panties for the April issue of men’s magazine Esquire.

Pinto talks frankly about her nude scenes in her latest film Trishna - an Indian-set reworking of Tess Of The d’Urbervilles - in a raunchy new interview.

She briefly appears naked in a sex scene within the Michael Winterbottom-directed film, but recently admitted she enlisted a butt double for the sequence.

“It was hard however it was a small crew, and so they were good at not making their presence felt,” the Daily Mail quoted her as telling Esquire magazine.

“They didn’t go, “Quick! She’s nearly naked! Get your camera out!” she said.

And although the Indian actress did strip off for this film, nude scenes wouldn’t become a standard occurrence, as she insists that the script must justify them.

“If you’re just doing a nude scene to ensure that everyone to, like, w*** off or something, then that’s not my thing at all,” she added.

Shahid Kapoor’s Bday mantra – ‘Life is short, party naked’

Though luck has not been much on Shahid Kapoor’s side, there are only a few who would doubt at the actor’s potentials. Post his breakup with Kareena Kapoor, Shahid is following the chant of ‘Work Hard and Party Harder’ to the core.

The actor was in Goa on his birthday and as he turned 31 this year, he didn't mind partying simply too wild because the photographs put online by the fame photographer Atul Kasbekar make all of it clear.

The pics show Shahid along the pool side with girls clad in black bikini. The actor himself posted another image of 2 slippers by poolside with the words “Life is brief. Party Naked” written on them.

Though his birthday was on February 25, Shahid have been in Goa since Wednesday and the celebrations of his birthday began well prematurely. AN ENORMOUS party was thrown at Morjim beach for his Bollywood friends to boot with the guest list including the names like Nargis Fakhri, Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia D’Souza, Ahmed Khan, Siddharth Anand and some others.

Check out Shahid Kapoor celebrating his birthday in Goan style…….

Vidya Balan is Sudhir Mishra’s Mehrunissa

When it involves a decision for an actress in a sensuous, strong and challenging role, the only to be zeroed in finally is undoubtedly Vidya Balan. The actress who rocked the nation along with her strong and dirty performance in ‘The Dirty Picture’ and who looks promising again within the forthcoming ‘Kahaani’ has bagged in yet one more prestigious project to be made under Sudhir Mishra’s expertise.

Apparently, Vidya was chosen to play the lead role of Mehrunissa in his film driving other contestants like Katrina Kaif out of the race. The film may be made by DAR Films and Vidya will start the shoot towards the tip of the year when she completes her shoot for Rajkumar Gupta’s Ghanchakkar. Since Sudhir and producer Nikhil Advani are very keen to have Vidya on board to play Mehrunissa, they're willing to attend it out.

Vidya could be playing Mehrunissa in two different time zones, on the age of 20 and again on the age of 62. Vidya will share screen space with Big B and Rishi Kapoor and because senior Bachchan has frequently compared Vidya to Waheeda Rehman, her older role could be in accordance with Waheedaji herself. Vidya will apparently be using some clever makeup and prosthetics to appear convincing opposite Big B and Rishi Kapoor.

Work after play for Shahid-Nargis?

By Hindustan Times

Mumbai, Feb. 27 -- This man really can't stay out of the news, can he? I USED TO BE just wondering what exactly has happened to Shahid Kapoor. The actor have been putting up pictures of himself posing next to semi-clad women, talking about skinny dipping and God knows what not. Chalo anyway, it was his janamdin, so I SUPPOSE he's allowed to move paagal for a while.

One special guest who flew right down to Goa to spend that big day with him was Nargis Fakhri. Of course, there have been many other special guests to boot; I AM NOT insinuating anything here.

The latest news comes from a hardcore jasoos from Juhu. He's so secretive that he doesn't even tell me his name! Remember Sabir Khan, the doomed director who last made that Kambakkth Ishq in 2009 with Kareena Kapoor and Akshay Kumar?

Yeah, well just while you thought he would never get to make another, producer, Sajid Nadiadwala has invested his faith in him, at the side of some cash. And the most recent buzz is that Nargis is being considered to play Shahid's love interest in it. Chalo, I won't want to insinuate anything once the shooting for this film starts, if it does, that is.

Soha to turn TV host?

By Hindustan Times

Mumbai, Feb. 27 -- My kaaliberry is buzzing like mad now. K.One has pinged me about Soha Ali Khan. This one and her brother Saif Ali Khan should really stay out of the scoop for a while.

First, I heard about some house in Khar that mama Sharmila Tagore bought for her and her beau Kunal Kemmu, then her brother got right into a brawl, and now apparently rumour has it that Soha is asking forward to hosting a TV show. Hmm... doesn't come as a surprise.

She looked to be having one of these great time on some show she recently featured on with Kunal, where she was giving lessons in like to some becharas. Good for her!

You can shoot for Kailasa's tracks!

By Hindustan Times

Mumbai, Feb. 27 -- Singer Kailash Kher and his band, Kailasa enthralled Mumbaikars with a scintillating concert this weekend. The show, which was a tribute to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, saw the 'Allah ke bandey...' singer belt out popular songs of the world-renowned Pakistani musician, including 'Tere bin nahi lagda dil mera dholna..' and 'Kinna sona...'.

Kher, who's known to talk together with his audience between songs, admits that sharing experiences with them makes it a more personal experience for him. He explains, "In India, it is rather rare that individuals pay R3,000 for a concert. So, it feels good to grasp that you've got true fans within the audience, which makes sharing personal trivia much more of a private experience."

Recently, he had posted on his fan page, requesting people to create videos of songs from his album at no cost. "I need to make videos of all songs from Kailasa's album, Rangeele. I'M quite proud of the response my request has received. While videos of 3 songs have already been made, the fourth is on its way. It's being made by students from a movie institute as a diploma project," he says, adding, "WE CAN soon launch a competition on our Facebook page, where people may be asked to make videos of the songs 'Katha gaan...' and 'Ujaale baant lo...'.

The one who receives the utmost 'likes' would be the official video for that song." The singer, who has sung for upcoming films Agent Vinod, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum and Prakash Jha's Chakravyuh, may be travelling to Pakistan and Bangladesh with the band next month. He also plans to move for a world tour with Kailasa in April.

Ask him if there are any plans to collaborate with any international artiste, and he says, "Collaboration requires a large number of time and commitment. I'm afraid I HAVEN'T GOT that sort of time at this time. I'll do this when the time is right."

Teja as Vijay!

By Hindustan Times

Mumbai, Feb. 27 -- Hello my chocolate coated toffees! How goes your Monday morning? I hate starting the week, when you inquire from me. After attending hazaar high profile parties over the weekend, I barely get 12 hours to simply laze around in my gulabi satin sheets and recuperate, but before you realize it, this dastardly Monday returns.

Anyway, my loyal jasoos Sher Lock Holmes has just called and distracted me with some piece of stories. Thank God for gossip!

The latest rumour doing the rounds in B-town is that the makers of the Zanjeer remake have finally zeroed in on an actor to play the role that made Amitabh Bachchan 'the angry young man' back within the day.

South superstar Ram Charan Teja is outwardly the person for the job, informs my spy. Arre wah... so Chiranjeevi's son might be donning the police ki wardi to play the role of the gusse se bhara Inspector Vijay Khanna? Hmm... unsure whether I WILL BE ABLE TO picture that just yet, but let's give it a shot, I tell Sher Lock.

At the speed at which this casting process is moving, with buzz about Deepika Padukone being roped in for the feminine lead role and Sanjay Dutt to essay the a part of Sher Khan, which was earlier played by yesteryear villain Pran, looks as if we can't be hearing any confirmations any time soon. Getting the time of too many A-list actors spoils the film schedule, is one lesson I'D impart!

Ekta set to remake DDLJ for television!

By Hindustan Times

Mumbai, Feb. 27 -- After recent hits like Bade Acche Lagte Hain and Kyaa Hua Tera Vaada, Ekta Kapoor will now remake Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), one of the most biggest Bollywood hits directed by Aditya Chopra, right into a TV show for Zee.

Sources claim there'll be modifications to the narrative while the elemental plot of a love story and an NRI family returning to India could be retained. Sara Khan, who made her acting debut as a tender politician in Star One's Dhoondh Legi Manzil Humein (DLMH), could be seen playing the lead role of Raavee, loosely in line with Kajol's character. "Yes, I'M doing the Balaji show," she confirms, without divulging more.

The show, tentatively titled Diya Mann, will go on floors this March and can probably go on air in April. Sources reveal that this love story could be shot in Punjab. The opposite variation within the tale is that unlike Simran from DDLJ, the lead, Raavee, is an adopted child, raised by a loving, NRI Punjabi family that involves India. The quest for the male lead continues to be on.

Ekta's new show is alleged to be replacing either Ram Milaayi Jodi or Choti Bahu, which air at 9.30 pm and 7.30pm respectively, claim sources. Sara claims she wasn't searching for a show when this one came along. "Post DLMH, I completed my book The principles for fogeys and released it in London. Balaji contacted me for this show and that i auditioned online."

Sara, amused together with her 'foreign-returned' tag, adds that she's also thrilled about her cameo in Anurag Kashyap's upcoming flick, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, where she plays a London-based Indian girlfriend of Kunal Kapoor.

Vidya Balan plans 'dirty dancing' post-break!

By Hindustan Times

Bollywood star Vidya Balan desires to improve her vocabulary, at the one hand, to precise her feelings towards the success of The Dirty Picture. At the other, she is calling forward to a break and says post that she's going to do a little "dirty dancing".

After working non-stop for greater than two years, she now desires to take a break.

"I am with reference to saying yes to a movie in an effort to not start for one more three months. So I ACTUALLY think I WOULD LIKE that break because for the past two-and-a-half-years I'VE BEEN busy with my films. So now I do need that point off to soak everything in. Then I WILL BE ABLE TO probably do a little dirty dancing," the 33-year-old talented actor told IANS.

An unofficial biopic of southern sex siren Silk Smitha, The Dirty Picture saw Vidya shedding all inhibitions to get under the outside of the nature and said: "I'VE become unapologetic about being myself. Probably others think that I DO NOT breathe the similar air (laughs). I just take that as a compliment, but I'VE a ways to head but yes god have been kind."

"I hoped the film would do well, but I had no concept that the film would achieve this well. I BELIEVE blessed and i'm on the lookout for new words for blessed, humbled and overwhelmed."

Unwilling to get typecast or repeat same roles, Vidya will soon be seen stepping out of the sex icon image by playing a pregnant woman in director Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani, a thriller that allows you to show what all her character goes through when she flies right down to Kolkata to seek out her missing husband.

"I can't do the similar thing time and again. After I am getting variety, then why will I not take that advantage? This woman (in Kahaani) is a vulnerable woman who's in search of her husband, but she has not lost her sense of humour. She is a lady of today."

Vidya was extremely choosy with scripts, but clarifies that it does not imply she is narrowing down her options.

"The proposition of success was humongous, thankfully. But even after Paa, Ishqiya and No person Killed Jessica, people said what next? Are your options narrowing down? I DON'T BELIEVE about this stuff. If god has brought me so far, he's going to take me further.

"I am here to behave. I'M REALLY NOT saying I WILL BE ABLE TO do only solo heroine projects or like that. I WOULD LIKE to do different genres of films," she said.

Ghosh was shouldering the load of 2 flops - Aladin and residential Delivery - when he approached Vidya, but she was not sceptical concerning the director and took the plunge.

"When Balki came to me with Paa, I had a Kismat Konnection and Heyy Babyy behind me. And when Sujoy came to me, my films were doing well. But he's an intelligent man he's some of the intelligent men I'VE met. Two of his films didn't work, but he has put things together this time around. I'M HOPING it'll figure out. But I FEEL the intention is right," she said.
