Salman Khan not ghost-directing Dabangg 2: Arbaaz Khan

By Hindustan Times

Actor-producer Arbaaz Khan will soon make his debut as a director with the discharge of his next production, Dabangg 2, on December 21. The promos of the Salman Khan-starrer was received well.

But a undeniable rumour concerning the actor having ghost-directed the film has irked Arbaaz. “It’s all rubbish,” says the first-time director. “Salman has to do his work — acting, fighting and dancing. Will he do this or will he direct? We make an excessive amount of out of the truth that he has suggestions. He has his tackle how he desires to do scenes, that is fair.”

According to Arbaaz, every actor gives suggestions when they’re shooting. And he feels there’s no harm in hearing what they need to say. “There’s no ego here. The film is being made because Salman is starring in it, so if he suggests something, I do consider it,” says Arbaaz.

Do such aspersions bother him? “No. They might matter if there has been any truth to them. Many directors face this situation,” says Arbaaz, adding that once Aditya Chopra directed Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995), rumours suggested that Yash Chopra ghost-directed it. When Karan Johar made his first film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), people insinuated that Adi had helped him and so on.

“Bhai hai toh kya hua (so what if he’s my brother)? At the sets of my film, Salman is a particularly successful actor and i'm a debutant director.”

REVEALED! Sunny Leone's look in Ragini MMS 2

By Hindustan Times

Sunny Leone has always capitalised on her assets, be it in her adult movies or to heat up the screen in her Bollywood film. While her sexy image worked for Jism 2, producer Ekta Kapoor, who has signed her on for her horror film, Ragini MMS 2, wants a more demure avatar. Ekta has roped in Priyanka Chopra’s stylist, Ami Patel, to present Sunny a fresh look within the film. “Ekta wanted me to style a film for some time now, but I NEEDED to work on western looks. So, when Ragini MMS 2 came up, she asked me again and I’d feel free to take it up,” says Ami.

Not willing to reveal Ekta’s exact brief for Sunny, Ami says, “Her look may be a surprise as it’s not how Sunny usually is. While in Jism 2 she was in-your-face sexy, this time her look may be toned down. It's going to have a large number of style with a classy, sexy touch and can be glamorous, somewhat like a Hollywood look.”

Though Ami hasn’t met Sunny yet, she has done a little research about her style quotient. “Sunny is a classy person and enjoys fashion. She has an inherent sex appeal and that i need to let that shine through in preference to making it overtly obvious with the garments. People haven’t seen her subtlety and that’s what I intend to bring out. I REALLY LIKE working with someone who's open to new ideas and knows current trends. I WANT to introduce the most recent fashion in movies,” she says.

Greater than 30 years ago, the actor had made his debut with action films, and now action as a genre appears to be back again. “All those action films I did then
are the type of films happening now,” Sanjay tells us in an interview. “Thank God they’re back now.”

You said action films are your favourite. But does age affect the type of action you do?
Sanjay: Every actor has to transport on. Things get different with time and also you start getting characters that experience action that suits you. Age doesn’t make a large difference, though.

While we’re on that, how do you retain fit?
Sanjay: I figure out so much. I had placed on weight in between, but my fans told me they couldn’t see me like that. I needed to make a choice.

How do you have the ability to keep your audiences in awe of you?
Sanjay: The person I GLANCE as much as is Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan). His persona, aura, the films he does and transition, are all so fantastic. That’s the individual I’ve checked out and I’ve moved in step with him. Also, I THINK in commercial cinema. You are able to do offbeat movies sometimes, but you can’t move clear of the economic genre. There needs to be visibility. Even though you were given to Chennai, people should know who you are.

You’re doing Karan Johar’s Unglee and likewise Zilla Ghaziabad. Let us know something about them.
Sanjay: Unglee has an excellent script and the director, Rensil D’Silva, is fabulous. As for Zilla Ghaziabad, I’m playing a real-life character, a police officer who's called in to regulate the gangs in Ghaziabad. It’s an out-and-out action film with numerous mad, south-inspired action sequences.

What form of character is closest to you?
Sanjay: I LIKE action essentially the most. As of now, romance isn’t in my book. Or even a mature love story. Action and comedy are my genres now.

You’re still perceived as Munna Bhai. Is Munna Bhai 3 ever going to happen?
Sanjay: I AM HOPING it does happen. I NEED to inform Raju (Hirani) to delight start engaged on it now. Honestly, Raju’s ideas for the Munna Bhai series was fantastic. Just take a look at the message he has sen to everyone — a gangster reviving Gandhiji. Today’s kids don’t know Gandhiji. He got it back in an attractive way without boring the audience. He’s one of the crucial greatest directors the rustic has currently.

Five Favourites
Sanjay Dutt picks five of his all time favourite films and the jobs he’s enjoyed playing the most

1. Sadak (1991)
2. Naam (1986)
3. Khalnayak (1993)
4. Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003)
5. Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006)

While members of the family preferred to stick off-record with the understandable plea of requiring privacy at a time like this, an overly close friend of the actress revealed how the death of her mentor and costly friend cinematographer Ashok Mehta had left Manisha shaken and uncertain of her own health and the future.

'There is not any certainty in life anymore,' she had said. IT'S NOT THAT I AM sure whether she got the entire tests done on herself at the moment. But she had said she was going to."

The genial warm actress had lately been distressed by her failed marriage.

"She really wanted it to work and gave it her best shot. And when it didn't work out, she took it as an individual failure. 'I guess I'M REALLY NOT destined to be a wife,' she told us, her friends. Manisha gives 200 percent of herself to all her relationships. She is within her rights to expect no less than some love in return. We're there for her right now. But Manisha desires to fight her illness on her own."

The friend says Manisha was lately in a contented mood.

"She has come to terms together with her failed marriage, as she does with all of the setbacks in her life. Manisha will fight this out," says the friend.

The actress has decided to not discuss the illness until the method of healing begins formally.

Dabangg 2: When Sonakshi Sinha almost stabbed Salman Khan

By Hindustan Times

We’ve all heard of actors being injured while shooting for stunt scenes (everyone from Jackie Chan to Amitabh Bachchan has sustained injuries). But in a primary of sorts, the lead actor of Dabangg 2 — Salman Khan — was almost injured by his romantic interest — Sonakshi Sinha. And from the look of
things, this wasn’t a domestic quarrel turned nasty for the now-married Chulbul Pandey.

The song Dagabaaz Re has a chain where Sonakshi and Salman are enacting a scene on a stage. Sonakshi was required to wield a sword playfully for the shot. But it surely seems, she nearly hit the actor in this shoot.

A source from the film team says, “Due to an error in timing, the sword almost hit Salman. Luckily, it missed his face by a fragment of a second.” The source says that while everyone at the set was stunned, both Salman and Sonakshi laughed it off.

“Later, they made sure they were perfectly in sync for this shot. They didn’t need a repeat of what had happened earlier.” Sonakshi confirms, “While filming that specific shot, I almost stabbed him (Salman).”

Indefinite delay for Preity Zinta’s next!

By Hindustan Times

Preity Zinta’s Ishkq In Paris (IIP) appears to be jinxed. Initially, it was purported to release on September 21 alongside Heroine and English Vinglish. However, Madhur Bhandarkar’s film and IIP postponed their release date to October 5. While the Kareena Kapoor-starrer hit the theatres on that
date, Preity’s film was again pushed further.

Matters only worsened when the film’s director, Prem Soni, was diagnosed with cancer within the last week of October. A COUPLE OF days after that, Preity announced that the film would only release once the director is in a condition to finish the post-production work. As a result, IIP didn't release on November 2 either. “Prem’s diagnosis was an enormous blow, that's why PZ needed to announce an indefinite delay,” says a source.

The film’s troubles didn't end here. After months of attempting to find a distributor, Ponty Chadha bought the rights to IIP. Unfortunately, the veteran too lost his life in a violent shootout on November 17. “Sohail Khan is handling the distribution. He was only capable of rope Ponty in on a commission basis after having several discussions with him,” says an insider. “Ponty was going to distribute it in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Rajasthan, but now the makers must find another distributor. It has no takers in Mumbai too.”

Ishq In Paris have been jointly produced by Preity Zinta and Aakash Arora, an NRI who has invested within the project. The actor is yet to make an announcement at the release. As of now, her ‘comeback film’ have been indefinitely delayed.

September 21: IIP was to release with Heroine and English Vinglish
October 5: Heroine released, IIP didn't
November 2: IIP did not release in this re-scheduled date either

We're on the brink of something path-breaking: Hrithik on Krrish 3

By Hindustan Times

For months now, Hrithik Roshan have been keeping a low profile, as he was targeting his next, Krrish 3. However the actor managed to take a little time out of his packed schedule to wait the continuing 12th edition of the International Film Festival of Marrakech in Morocco as four of his movies are being screened here this week.

However, Krrish isn't on that list. Confident that the franchise’s next installment will certainly find special mention on many such lists, he says, “Krrish must have been screened and it'll make it here next year.”

Nonetheless, the actor is thrilled that four of his other films — Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Jodha Akbar (2008), Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) and Agneepath — are being screened. “I just happened to be a part of these films and i'm very happy with them. It feels good,” he says.

Directed and produced by father Rakesh Roshan, Krrish 3 was kept under wraps ever because the shooting began. But as per the actor, the secrecy will all repay once the film hits the theatres. “It’s one of the most biggest challenges for Indian cinema, for the reason that special effects and the technology is all home-grown… it’s Indian. There is not any foreign hand within the final product,” he says.

The third a part of the series, which began with Koi… Mil Gaya in 2003, also stars Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Oberoi and Kangna Ranaut. But inspite of the support of a longtime star cast, Hrithik seems unsure in regards to the fate of the film. “It’s one of these big leap of religion. Till now it looks impossible. The tone of the special effects, and the film itself, is so big that we don’t know whether we can achieve what we're attempting or hoping to will we. may fall flat on our faces or we won't. Either way, I DO KNOW that we're on the brink of something path-breaking,” says Hrithik.

Wanted my year to finish with something totally bizarre like Talaash: Kareena Kapoor

By Hindustan Times

From her debut with the 2000 film Refugee to her latest release Talaash, Kareena Kapoor has come some distance in her decade-long career. The actress says she picks other kinds of roles as she prefers taking risks in terms of choosing films. Be it a masala film like
Bodyguard or a women-centric movie like Heroine, Kareena has all of it in her kitty. The 32-year-old Bollywood A-lister says it's her duty as an actress to dole out plenty of films for her fans.

"It is the obligation of an actor to check out and pick up different roles, be just a little brave concerning the whole thing. Sometimes films will work and infrequently they will not. It's fun taking risks. I SIMPLY CANNOT just keep looking pretty and doing a song-and-dance film," Kareena told PTI in an interview.

The actress said people had asked her to not play Riana Briganza in Shakun Batra's Ekk Main Aur Ekk Tu earlier this year, because the film was slightly unconventional.

"When I USED TO BE doing Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, everyone said it's slightly non-commercial, for the reason that boy doesn't get the lady after all. I only did the film because people were saying that. I told Shakun that if you happen to change the tip of this movie, I AM NOT doing it. That was me. I WISHED to do Riana Briganza and wanted my year to finish with something totally bizarre like Talaash. I'm proud of both," said Kareena.

This year have been quite colourful for Kareena. While in Aamir Khan starrer Talaash she played the spirit of a prostitute, Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine had her star as a Bollywood actress. Kareena also turned out as an ISI agent in Agent Vinod and can be next seen in a item number in Dabangg 2.

"I always attempt to balance the mass-oriented films with the opposite kinds. My fans like to see me in commercial stuff as well, for that there's the article song Fevicol Se that I'VE done for Dabangg 2.

"It's nice to do a job like Rosie in Talaash, who's so sensitive, after which something like this song. People should see that i'm seeking to do various things and never just confidently doing my very own thing or repeating the same," she said.

Talaash opened to postive reviews on November 30 and Kareena's performance have been lauded. The actress said this a fair sign for the industry.

"People have liked the film as a complete and my role was appreciated. It roughly gives hope and faith to actors that there's space for good cinema and a fair story."

The film is a suspense thriller, which sees Aamir playing the role of an inspector investigating the death of an actor, while Kareena's character helps him out.

"Aamir has so much to do with my decision to try this film, every actress desires to work with him. But that aside, after I heard the part they were offering me, it more or less blew me away," she said.

Kareena said the film's success also shows that an actress' marital status doesn't really affect her career.

"I'm happy that Talaash has done well, as it shows that it really doesn't matter whether you're married or not, it is all about being a part of an excellent film."

Having tied the knot with Saif Ali Khan in October after a five-year relationship with the actor, Kareena said her life hasn't changed much post-marriage.

"I don't understand why this kind of big deal is being made about my marriage. I married the person that I REALLY LIKE and i'm happier. Life really hasn't changed much."

Italian actor Monica Bellucci — a distinct guest on the festival — was on the event to honour Indian cinema. The actor is surprisingly familiar with Indian cinema, and said that she doesn’t rule out the potential of doing an Indian film. “The first Hindi film I saw was Devdas (the Shah Rukh Khan one, we’re guessing),” said the actor, adding, “I wonder how Indian actors are so popular in every thing of the sector. The group goes crazy wherever they go,” she said.

Ask her if she is planning to travel to India, and he or she says, “I’ve never been to India, but I'LL BE there soon.” The author is on the Marrakech Film Festival by invitation.

I'M in a contented space, wish Kareena all of the best: Shahid Kapoor

By Hindustan Times

It took Shahid Kapoor two years to realize that slow and steady doesn’t always win the race, and about nine months to grasp that not working is an unhealthy habit.

He’d always been aware that visibility is synonymous with an actor’s life, but Shahid has a deeper understanding of the concept that now. So, wiser than before, he's back at the sets after nine months, shooting for Raj Kumar Santoshi’s Phata Poster Nikla Hero.

“It looks like I USED TO BE on a longer vacation and now I'M back to school,” he says. With three big films in hand — Prabhudheva’s Namak, Bejoy Nambiar’s next and Phata Poster…, the 31-year-old actor is back on his feet. Late at night, at the sets of Santoshi’s film, Shahid holds back nothing in an exclusive interview with HT Café.

You’ve been missed. Where did you disappear after Mausam?
It wasn’t a voluntary decision. But yes, there has been a time after I will need to have been doing more work, but I didn’t. So I HAVE TO recover that lost time now. And that i guess everything has a reason. My dad’s film Mausam took a year and a half to finish, and that started the slow-down. Technically, I lost two years. Everybody knew or presumed that I WOULDN'T take in any work till Mausam was finished. The one film I signed in between was Teri Meri Kahani.

And then?
I finished Teri Meri Kahani and was about to start out Maneesh Sharma’s film, when he developed a slipped disc. A CHAIN of events
unfortunately followed that and caused further delays. I understand there have been technical problems but, honestly, I couldn’t push it any longer as I already had three other films lined up. I wasn’t happy opting out of Maneesh’s film. But I’ve always believed that whatever you get is for your destiny and what you don’t get isn’t speculated to be. Maneesh and that i parted amicably. Following this, I didn’t shoot for nine months which was very surprising because something like this hasn't ever happened before with me.

It’s been five years since your big film Jab We Met released. People still consider that as your best shot…
I know. It’s an odd feeling to appear back. However, it wasn’t considered a large film then. It was made by a brand new director; the lead pair of Kareena and that i was not considered hot as our jodi hadn’t worked in earlier films; and most importantly, the film was released in a period that the trade believes is inauspicious — two weeks after Dushhera and two weeks before Diwali. This era is looked upon because the weakest and worst time to release a movie. And two big movies, Om Shanti Om and Saawariya (both 2007), were releasing around that point. Fortunately, our film was widely appreciated. I ASSUME every film has its own destiny.

So far you haven’t spoken about what went wrong with Mausam.
The proven fact that we had with reference to two months to edit the film which was revamped a period of 2 years, and the truth that the film itself got hugely delayed impacted the product. Had there been slightly more time, we might have gotten more perspective and made corrections. It was numerous pressure on dad who was making his first film. There has been pressure on all of us, including Supriya aunty (Shahid’s stepmother Supriya Pathak), and my kid brothers. Everyone was deeply excited by the film. I USED TO BE with the family throughout and that i needed to be their mental strength. I just couldn’t allow them to down emotionally.

Do you regret that phase a little?
I usually don't regret anything in life, but in hindsight, I wouldn’t need to do this again. I ACTUALLY don’t wish to be in that situation again.

‘I am not arrogant, but lovingly detached!’

We’ve heard you’ve cancelled your New Year’s Eve plans.
I am really enthusiastic about my work now and there’s a captivating line-up for next year. So yes, I'LL BE working round-the-clock. There’s no New Year’s Eve or birthday break. I'VE taken it on myself to ensure that I'VE essentially the most of myself and just keep working.

How did you spend the last nine months?
I was reading scripts, meeting and interacting with people. I'VE already heard about six scripts and the 3 films I'M doing now are due to the this. Fortunately, I'M working with people I WISHED to work with. With these movies, I'M stepping into a special space too. Thankfully I had the time to line up my priorities. Raj Kumar Santoshi’s film is an out-and-out entertainer, so is Prabhudheva’s Namak, that is complete masala fare. After which there's Bejoy Nambiar’s film that is of a dark, edgy kind. And there’s yet one more that i'm not speculated to discuss now.

I have decided one thing, though. I’ve made a promise to myself that each year I CAN do three films and feature two releases — minimum. People have told me that i'm too slow, that I do only a few films, and that at this age and stage, I shouldn’t be doing this.

You and Kareena became a success pair after Jab We Met (2007), after which the 2 of you split up. But have you had a suggestion of a movie with Kareena since then?
Nobody within the last five years has come to me with a proposal to work with Kareena. I had never said no to working together with her ever before, and why should or not it's any different now? I'D say Jab We Met was Kareena’s finest performance to this point. She’s one of the crucial finest actresses we now have today. People still remember her as Geet.

Was it after Jab We Met that you simply fell right into a slow phase? Did the get a divorce with Kareena affect you?
No, yaar. Such a lot of things happen, including death, but you don’t stop working as a result of that during. fact I did Kaminey (2009), Dil Bole Hadippa! (2009) and other films after the get a divorce. But I did only a few films by choice. I had put all my eggs in a single basket. And a few of the movies that I did weren't good choices; that’s how I MUST look back now. I NEED TO be pragmatic and honest. So whilst you put these kinds of things together, it’s not the most efficient scenario and i'm trying to correct that.

Certain people within the industry believe you exude one of those arrogance.
I was in my very own world and keep to myself all of the time, so there can have been a perception about my reserved demeanour that was misconstrued as arrogance. But if people interact with you, then they know the true you.

So how did you control the damage?
People can have found it difficult to approach me and that i realised it and feature worked on it. I WAS socially shy. Now I'VE become a social animal. I'M GOING out, meet and have interaction with people. I made an effort and i'm really enjoying that phase now. Beyond that, I WILL NOT change who I'M. I'M a Piscean, and so they have a lovingly detached attitude towards life.

Do the reports of your link-ups upset or amuse you?
Initially I USED TO BE shocked to read them, but gradually I got used to it, so I don’t take it seriously. Sometimes I BELIEVE it’s excessive, it makes me uncomfortable. I SUPPOSE it’s going to maintain happening till I AM GETTING married. Anyway, I don’t care about it, so it doesn’t matter.

Are you single now?
I am not saying anything. Tomorrow after I am walking around with someone or dining with someone, someone will click an image and it’ll become a headline. So IT'S NOT THAT I AM going there in any respect. I say one thing, and there’s an avalanche of gossip around it. I'M married to my work. That’s what heroines say, right? But yes, I'M single and i've been single for the last two years.

So is love a no-no for the brand new Shahid?
There’s such a lot happening in my life now that a relationship is usually a huge baggage for me unless it’s with the correct one that brings out the fitting side of me. If I LOCATE someone who makes me feel amazing and who I can’t stop thinking about, I WILL BE ABLE TO run after her and check out my best to woo her. Being in love is gorgeous. You simply must find someone who can understand you and who you'll give time and importance.

How important is money for you?
It is very important to be secure, but I always emphasise relationships. I'VE learnt this over a time period. Four years ago, perhaps, I wouldn’t have said this.

On Kareena Kapoor
In hindsight, were you too young and immature to deal with your relationship along with your former girlfriend Kareena?
Absolutely not! I USED TO BE 16 once I had my first relationship and it lasted for 2 and a half years. If you find yourself seeing somebody, then obviously it’s a commitment. And in the event you don’t wish to commit, then don’t be in a relationship. Every relationship deserves a definite credibility and respectability. For me, it’s always been like that. If I'VE fallen for someone, it’s been a protracted time.

As for what went wrong between me and Kareena, I don’t need to touch upon it. Everything happens for a reason; I'M in a cheerful space and want her all of the best.

When I’d interviewed her earlier, Kareena Kapoor had said she’d love to act in Jab We Met 2…
The ball lies in Imtiaz’s court. It'd be interesting to revisit Jab We Met, but I don’t know if I WILL play Aditya Kashayp as I had played him within the original. Nonetheless, it’s a perfect film, so why not? Everyone related to that film has gained tremendously. Vishal Bharadwaj cast me in Kaminey because he liked me in Jab We Met. He felt that even supposing I USED TO BE mostly quiet within the film, I USED TO BE still in my character. That was an enormous compliment.

On Priyanka Chopra
Was your relationship with Priyanka Chopra a case of affection at the rebound?
Ever since my public break-up (read Kareena), I HAVEN'T spoken about my relationship status. That’s the utmost I WILL say. And because I'VE said I USED TO BE single for the last two years, how could I'VE BEEN seeing anyone?

Shahid’s top women
The women who make him go weak on the knees

Scarlet Johansson: “Incredibly beautiful. Perfect lips and lovely eyes. I'VE an enormous crush on her.”
Penélope Cruz: “This Latin beauty has features which can be very Indian. A GORGEOUS actor.”
Katrina Kaif: “Everyone within the country finds her very desirable and beautiful!”
Deepika Padukone: “She’s getting into her own at the present time. I TRULY liked her in Cocktail.”
Vidya Balan: “She was an enchantress in Parineeta (2005). AN OVERLY positive and charming girl. I did Kismet Konnection (2008) along with her. I remember she was very confused about which look to favour as people were very critical of her. Nice to look how she has rediscovered herself.”
Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in a still from Teri Meri Kahaani

I wish I MAY have…

1 Aamir Khan’s brilliant mind and phenomenal understanding of his craft, and be the visionary that he's. Hugely inspirational!
2The unconditional love Salman Khan has from his fans. It's awe inspiring. In case your fans love you, they're able to forgive you. I MIGHT die for that.
3 Shah Rukh Khan’s dignity and sophistication. He’s well spoken, nice, and really cultured. He’s so good to you when he meets you, that you simply can’t look beyond him. That’s a high quality I WOULD LIKE to be informed from him.

4 Hrithik Roshan’s endless honesty and sincerity. Despite being the best
looking guy and the best actor within the industry, he still works harder and tries to get well at his work. It’s amazing! He's the one actor who called me up after watching my first film, Isqh Vishk (2003). I USED TO BE damn happy that celebrity Hrithik Roshan called me on my phone. I flaunted it around. I respect him a lot.

5 Pankaj Kapur’s
conviction. He might have been an overly rich man, but he chose a center class life through his work which states sense and sensibility. Sometimes he tells me, ‘Beta I'VE money within the bank for just one year, but I CAN still not absorb work I don’t like’. He stands by his beliefs fiercely.

Saif Ali Khan plans to throw party for Kareena for Talaash success!

By Hindustan Times

Kareena Kapoor is getting rave reviews for her performance in Reema Kagti's Talaash, and husband Saif Ali Khan is planning to throw a small party to celebrate the actress' success. "Saif remains to be in Lucknow shooting for his film. He's very excited as he have been receiving messages from our friends and family about my performance in Talaash," Kareena told IANS.

"He was happy concerning the proven fact that that is my first big film after our wedding and we now have broken the norm to prove that even married women can get the box office going.

"Saif and that i are quite thrilled about this and Saif is planning for a small party with family and friends once he's back. He desires to have a small get together, now allow us to see how things fall in place," she added. Kareena and Saif exchanged wedding vows last month in an intimate ceremony.

A decade after Chameli, Kareena again plays the role of a prostitute in Talaash. The actress is delighted that her performance within the new film was accepted well by the audience.

"It's quite ironic that I did Chameli after I was 22 and that i did Talaash once I am 32. So exactly after a decade I played a prostitute's role and both my roles were accepted well by the audience," Kareena said.

"It is straightforward to do song and dance, though this can be a a part of me and my USP, but I THINK really blessed to play something like this on screen," she added.

Race 2 to have international DJs?

By Hindustan Times

Partygoers are always in search of that next dance number and Bollywood films seldom disappoint, since every release has a few such tracks on their albums. Now, the songs from Ramesh Taurani’s next action-thriller, Race 2, appear to have created a huge buzz among dance music lovers to boot. When the brand new single from the film, ‘There’s a celebration on my mind’, was released, little did Taurani know that it'd be so popular.

“Ever since we released the song earlier last week, we now have been getting calls and e-mails from DJs across the world, who wish to remix it. Even Pritam was approached for a similar. For now, we haven’t decided whom to select,” says Taurani.

DJs from clubs in Canada, USA, London, Dubai and India are at the list. “DJ Suketu has always remixed songs from my movies and he's keen to remix the song too. From the calls we’ve got so far, we now have chosen four DJs and can announce the name of the only whose remix might be utilized in the music CD,” says Taurani.

Music director Pritam will decide which DJ to finally select, adds Taurani. “I can be fascinated by the verdict too but after all he knows best,” he says. Though Taurani refuses to show the names of the shortlisted DJs, an insider says, “The New York-based DJ Jay Dabhi was finalised for the remix.”

The song was shot on a beach in Turkey. “It happens at a celebration to celebrate John Abraham’s character’s acquisition of many casinos. We flew in 70 dancers from Russia, since Turkey had none,” says the creative producer of the film, Jay Shewakramani.

Abhishek Kapoor to bring out a book on photographs of Gujarat

By Hindustan Times

Abhishek Kapoor, or Gattu, because the industry refers to him, seems to have talents that transcend directorial skills. While travelling through Gujarat for his upcoming film, Kai Po Che, Abhishek shot photographs which are now set to be compiled right into a coffee table book.

A source says, “Abhishek and his team had a unprecedented journey while shooting through Gujarat. They’ve be capable of capture the state in a brand new way (within the film). What you will find is the state as seen throughout the eyes of Abhishek, and people of the 3 friends within the film, played by Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and Raj Kumar. The pictures that he’s shot only further show how beautiful the landscape is.”

The makers are currently in talks with publishers. The book, authored by Abhishek, might be a photograph book with text annotations to every picture. The source adds, “The plan is to release the book across India, but only after the film hits theatres after February next year.”

It seems that the speculation of the book came to the team of Kai Po Che only once they had completed shooting for the film. The source says, “They had clicked many images, and while facing them, they realised what a limiteless collection that they had. Because Gujarat plays such crucial part within the film, they felt this was methods to show their appreciation towards the state.”

I REALLY LIKE Aamir Khan, even Saif knows this: Kareena Kapoor

By Hindustan Times

Newly married Kareena Kapoor confesses about her love for Aamir Khan and the way huge a fan she is. In a candid interview, the actress also talks about her film Talaash and her equation with Rani Mukerji.

Why did you select to do Talaash?
Kareena: When Aamir first called me, he refused to show any information about the plot. Even in the course of the first two meetings, he simply asked if I USED TO BE free. I said, 'Yes, but for which film?' Then I BELIEVE he finally decided to trust me and told me that Reema (director Reema Kagti) was engaged on a movie called Talaash.
There was already buzz across the film, but for me, it was about working with Aamir. I'm an enormous Aamir Khan fan! I LIKE him. Saif also knows this.

Reema, why did you decide Kareena?
Reema: I ASSUMED she was the most efficient person for the part. It is a role that needs a large number of gravity and guts. I BELIEVE she has those qualities.

With two big actresses in a film, is there insecurity about whose role is bigger?
Reema: Rani and Kareena are extremely accomplished and really secure actors. They do not function that way. Apparently, Aamir didn't conform to do the film while you first approached him.

Reema: It isn't like he didn't agree. He was doing Ghajini (2005) at that time, and he knew he was going to do Dhobi Ghat (2010) next. He was also going to take a year off after that. He was like, 'I'm not likely to listen to any script for the following two years'. So we didn't even get a possibility to narrated it to him.

Once Aamir came on board, nothing seemed tough. The best way to get a film made is to get Aamir to mention yes to it.

Why was there this kind of long gap between your last film (Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd; 2007) and Talaash?
Reema: It was a forced sabbatical. I AM NOT an excessively patient person. So it wasn't easy. But that is what a writer-director's life is like. Sometimes, things take off, sometimes they do not. I TRULY believed that this was a narrative that had to be told. So I stuck to it.
Kareena, Rani, what was it like for you two to interact again, after Mujhse Dosti Karoge! (MDK, 2002)?

Kareena: Unfortunately, we have no shots together, aside from the promotional song. Professionally and personally, we share a ravishing relationship. It has been 10 years since MDK. I DO NOT call her on a daily basis. But on every occasion something important happens in my life, there's always a text from her.

Rani: After I see Kareena today, I'm happy with her. The way in which she has built her career is astounding. She has grown from strength to strength. I adored her in Jab We Met (2007). She was always beautiful, but now as Mrs Khan, she has become much more beautiful.
Kareena, are you content together with your performance within the film?
Kareena: If an actor is content together with his or her performance, 90 per cent of the time, others will adore it too. However the media thinks, I don't have done this, or I will need to have done that better. Maybe that's why I FINISHED watching my films (laughs).

How do you select roles?
Kareena: The film could be a potboiler, or it may be a song-and-dance kind; I enjoy both. On an extraordinary occasion, you return across an ideal script. After which you do not mind just being a part of it. I mean, even Brad Pitt did Babel (2006); I DO NOT BELIEVE he had an excellent role.

I also must credit Saif for teaching me how you can choose better roles within the last five years. He says the problem with us actors is that we're always in search of the principle role. But sometimes you could do a specific role, even supposing it is the smallest of parts.

Do you read every script that you simply get?
Kareena: I DO NOT read scripts.
Reema: You simply keep narrating the script and make loud sounds to wake her up.
Kareena: Such a lot of times, within the first 10-15 minutes of the narration, you're thinking, 'Oh my God, I NEED TO sit through this?' Eventually, I just get busy with my phone.

Reema: At some point, every actor tries to stifle a yawn. But they do it politely.

Rani, you've become choosy about your roles of late.
Rani: I DO NOT BELIEVE it's about being choosy. I WOULD LIKE to make myself happy, and if a job doesn't challenge me, I DO NOT do the film. If I AM GETTING bored myself, I DO NOT expect the audiences to get excited.

What's so challenging about Talaash?
Reema: I BELIEVE Rani has probably the most difficult part within the film. Aamir and Kareena's parts are more within the author-backed role format. I FEEL she (Rani) has taken her character to a different level. It's beyond what Zoya and that i had written.

How did you prepare for this role?
Rani: I just kept seeing what Kareena was doing in relation to preparation. Because she was doing such a lot (laughs).
Kareena: You mean, watching TV, happening holidays and eating food? That was my preparation.

Why is your individual life this kind of closely guarded secret?
Rani: My life will never be a suspense story, however the media has made it into one. Meri life ek khuli kitaab hai, but mere dosto aur parivaar ke liye (My life is an open book, but just for my friends and
family). I BELIEVE it's my responsibility to maintain my personal life personal for the sanity of my parents.

Rema: I FEEL she (Rani) has taken her character to a different level. It's beyond what Zoya and that i had written.
Recently, in an interview, you said that you simply were egoistic about your roles…

Rani: Yaar, tum log jab interview likhte ho, baat twist karke kuch bhi bana dete ho (You guys twist our words for your interviews). I said, 'I am egoistic as an actor'. The answer's in that interview, but you will not consult with that you really want. gossip. I USED TO BE asked if I'd have liked to do Kareena's role, and that i said I MIGHT like to. However the point is that as an actor I'm egoistic and would really like to do the role that the director involves me with, because she has already visualised me like that.

Reema: It's an unfair question. People, who're accomplished and secure, don't believe like that. They do not consider what's mine and yours.
Rani: It's about framing the question right. But what makes for a really perfect copy is a headline like, 'I am egoistic.'

Have you seen Reema's earlier film, Honeymoon Travels?
Kareena: I HAVE NOT seen Honeymoon Travels. Main ab tak honeymoon pe hi nahi gayi hoon, yaar (I HAVE NEVER even been on a honeymoon yet).
Rani: I'VE watched it; I BELIEVED it was very entertaining.

Reema, how do making a decision what sort of films to make?
Reema: I DO NOT decide the genre. It's more in regards to the concept that I MUST fall in love with. In both my films, it was the concept result in the premise.

Which certainly one of your two films was more challenging?
Reema: I think, Honeymoon Travels, as it was my first film and that i got into it without knowing whether I'LL manage it or not. I realised the challenge after I was with all 13 actors at the sets. I USED TO BE intimidated, but then I more or less slipped into all of it. of them are talented people.

What's your next film prone to be like?
Reema: The following one I'm writing with Zoya (Akhtar) has elements of comedy. But it's essentially a drama.

In the promos, Rani looks healthier than Kareena.
Reema: I encouraged my actors to eat well because I WOULD LIKE them to transcend their stardom and become middle-class people. I USED TO BE encouraging her (Rani) to position on weight. I asked Rani to not diet.
Rani: Yeah, she did ask me.
Reema: In fact, I even asked Kareena and Aamir to not diet. I BELIEVE individuals who diet don't seem to be real people and do not look genuine.

Have you seen the text message that may be supposedly revealing the film's ending?
Rani: I heard about it; it just helps the film a lot.

Anupama Chopra review: Talaash

By Hindustan Times

Direction: Reema Kagti
Actors: Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukherji
Rating: ***

To watch Talaash is to embark on a passionate love affair that results in frustration for the reason that object of your desire reveals itself to be
shallow and depressingly ordinary. In short, a profound anti-climax.

If I sound like a lady cheated, it is only because I USED TO BE so invested in Reema Kagti's suspense drama. The film has one of the crucial terrific first hours I've seen this year. It's taut, twisty and absolutely thrilling. Reema creates a superbly textured and atmospheric portrait of Mumbai, where neon lights and garish make-up just barely disguise the hollowness within. And the story, co-written by Reema and Zoya Akhtar had me hooked from the primary frame.

A famous actor drives his expensive car into the Arabian Sea. Inspector Shekhawat is named in to research. The tough-talking cop, played by Aamir Khan, is definitely a walking wound. His son died in a sad accident and Shekhawat blames himself for it. He's haunted by his actions - the things he did and, more painfully, the things he didn't do. His wife, Roshni, played by Rani Mukherji, finds solace in secret conversations together with her dead son through a medium.

Shekhawat immerses himself on the subject of the drowned actor. But just when it kind of feels like they've reached a dead end, a tantalisingly seductive prostitute named Rosie, played by Kareena Kapoor, provides a clue. She continues to assist and their relationship becomes more entangled. At one point, Rosie looks on the cop and says: 'Pyaar ho gaya kya mujhse, saheb?'

Talaash had me in a vice-like grip till the interval. And then, the curse of the second-half struck like lightning. The rationale of the deliciously intriguing mystery was so lame that I refused to believe it. I hoped that Reema and Zoya would spring one final twist on us and redeem the film. But sadly, that never happened.

Still, there are such a large amount of things to admire in Talaash. Reema and Zoya have written layered characters and all three lead actors are first-rate. Aamir, Rani and Kareena work beautifully off one another. Every one creates the sort of palpable sense of ache and damage.

The dialogue by Farhan Akhtar, with additional work by Anurag Kashyap, is perfectly pitched. Ram Sampath's mournful music underlines the melancholy. And the strange fascination that the cop develops for the prostitute is mesmerising.

I enjoyed these characters such a lot that I demand another film for Shekhawat, Roshni and Rosie. This one didn't serve them well enough.

For once, I also feel the necessity to explain my rating: I WISHED to present four stars to the primary half and two stars to the second one half, so it averages out to a few. See Talaash and do post comments. I'm curious to peer what number of were as furious as me.

Sonam, Rhea tease me for being a celeb: Arjun Kapoor

By Hindustan Times

How have things changed throughout the Kapoor household after your success?
Both Anil and Sanju chachu (Sanjay Kapoor) tease me saying, ‘Arrey, you could have become a celebrity now. You don’t have time (for us).’

And your cousins — Sonam and Rhea?
They do it too. Of late, I haven’t had much time to hang around with them. Earlier, I used to make fun of Sonam, but now I understand her dilemma. I MIGHT tease her that she was only concerned about looking good always. But now I DO KNOW what it seems like. They're all more than happy for me.

How close are you to Anil Kapoor?
I admire him. Anil chachu has always been one step sooner than everyone else. A COUPLE OF days ago, he came back (from shooting) and was telling me, ‘You look so good.’ So I said, ‘Chachu, I DO KNOW you assert that so I WILL BE ABLE TO inform you that you're looking better than me.’ And he started laughing.

Are you in contact with Harsh (Anil’s son) who's assisting Anurag Kashyap in Bombay Velvet?
Yes, I'M. He has just get back from America and is enjoying his free time for now. But he's waiting for working with Anurag. He loves that sort of cinema — the radical zone. I'M really happy that Harsh has chosen a director, who has a mind of his own to make a special film, yet one with a pan-India appeal. While you work with people you aspire to be like, you be aware of them. He'll be capable to hone his skills and craft of whatever he desires to eventually become — actor, writer or director.

Recently, you could have undergone some tough times. How has your loved ones helped you?
The better part of getting your loved ones members within the industry is they are your biggest supporters. Sonam went all out to support me in the course of the making of the film and later in addition. The type of help I got from her, Rhea, my sister and all my cousins, made me realise that your loved ones helps you thru good, in addition to bad, times. I went through a foul phase at a time when my career was also commencing. I remember the emotional strength that was provided to me by my family. They aren’t judgmental. Earlier, I MIGHT have time for them but today I'M busy, but they won’t hold a grudge against me on account of that.

And lastly, are you in talks with Rhea about her next, Herogiri?
I am speaking to her about life and food (laughs). But we don’t discuss what she is operating on. There was no serious discussion with me yet. I'LL take it up with her, since she isn’t telling me enough.

CRITICS VERDICT: Aamir Khan's Talaash is a must watch!

By Hindustan Times

Reema Kagti has hit the bull's eye with crime-thriller Talaash, featuring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji within the lead. Film critics have unanimously called it a must watch.

Talaash
Genre: Crime/Thriller
Director: Reema
Kagti
Cast: Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukerji
Writers: Reema Kagti, Zoya Akhtar
Music Director: Ram Sampat

Reviewer: Taran Adarsh, Bollywood Hungama
Rating: ****1/2

http://www.hindustantimes.com/Images/popup/2012/11/talaash-poster.jpgTal... stands on its feet given that it merges conspiracy, tension and tragedy with dexterousness. Add to it the turn of events, the razor sharp dialogue and of course, the suspense... Talaash takes the suspense angle to a brand new altitude altogether, emerging into a really constructed mystery.

On the whole, TALAASH is an exceptional film. A taut psychological thriller that keeps you guessing till the end, it leaves you spellbound, leaves you mesmerized, leaves you with an exclamation, 'Wow!'. An absolute must look forward to all movie buffs. You simply can't afford to overlook this one!

Reviewer: Kanika Sikka, DNA
Rating: ***1/2

Aamir Khan is back and yes, with a bang. Despite the fact that this reviewer isn't a die-hard fan of Aamir Khan, in fact that you would be able to love him or hate him, but there is no escaping his films. Talaash, which was originally slated to release last year, proves again this actor's films aren't to be skipped and fully definitely worth the wait.

In all, Talaash successfully whets the appetite of all of the Aamir Khan fans. As for the story, you'll be able to always trust Zoya Akhtar to offer her best. Talaash isn't a flawless film, however it is an interesting tale that compels one to seem beyond that that's evident. You cannot miss this one.

Reviewer: Shomini Sen, Zee News
Rating: ****

Writing and making thrillers is rarely easy. It needs to be gripping, should engage the viewers and has to influence clear of predictability. And Reema Kagti's 'Talaash' scores in these kind of aspects.

Written by Reema and Zoya Akhtar, Talaash grips you from the first actual shot and keeps you hooked throughout the two and half hours of its runtime. A tale of loss, betrayal and revenge, the film explores the numerous versions of truth and questions the obvious, leaving the viewer contemplating things unexplained.

Watch it for the tale. That's the actual hero of the film. The bright actors are only an icing at the cake.

Reviewer: Sukanya Verma, Rediff
Rating: ***1/2

Analysis is the birthright of murder mysteries. And there are three sub-genres to it -- one that deliberates at the technique and scheme of an execution, the opposite which is dependent upon the shock and surprise of who did it and eventually and maybe most underestimated is the one who deals with the motive fuelling the joys of investigation. And it's this very psychological post-mortem of why over who that dictates the immensely fascinating and absorbing developments of Reema Kagti's Talaash.

Talaash is a riveting combination of sentiment and suspense. And it's certainly raised my bar for Reema Kagti as a filmmaker.

Reviewer: Saibal Chatterjee, NDTV
Rating: ***1/2

By no means is Talaash the tip of your seek for the easiest whodunit. But there may be such a lot going for this compelling, slow-burning, well-acted tale set within the dark, grimy underbelly of Mumbai which you can barely take your eye off the screen.

Aamir Khan sinks his teeth into the cop act with effortless ease but underplays his hand to intensify the introspective nature of the troubled man. A deglamorised Rani Mukherji plays her role with finesse and an excellent sense of empathy, while Kareena Kapoor is at her seductive best. To not be missed.

By Hindustan Times

Sonakshi Sinha has backed out of an endorsement care for a clothing brand as a result of her weight issues. When the curvy actress was asked to shed some flab, she reportedly refused to take action. I just work and entertain: Akshay Kumar

By Hindustan Times

With two of his films - Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore - having made it to the Rs. 100 crore club, Akshay Kumar have been tagged as one among Bollywood's most bankable actor. Though the actor feels the pressure of success, he says once a movie releases, he doesn't dwell an excessive amount of upon its box-office performance.

"Pressure comes because the film nears its release time. But after that if it doesn't work, I'M at the next film. But I DO NOT take a large hit too seriously also, since the next Friday it's a must to go within the same circle... you never know what's going to happen the following Friday. I just take it because it comes. I just work and entertain," Akshay said during an interaction.

Akshay made his Bollywood debut with 1991 film "Saugandh" and went directly to aquire the tag of Khiladi Kumar for his inclination towards action. Over the years, the actor has however shifted his focus to comedies.

"After 'Khiladi 420', I ENDED (doing action movies) because I got married. I just desired to work on comedy, romance and everything. Being a father and a husband, a person has to calm down a bit. Now my son has grown up, I NEED to return to action," said the actor, who's married to actress Twinkle Khanna and has two kids - Aarav, 10 and daughter Nitara, who was born in September.

With "Rowdy Rathore", Akshay returned to his love for action and his new film "Khiladi 786" will see him in an analogous avatar again. Directed by Ashish R. Mohan, the film also features Asin Thottumkal. It releases Dec 7.

"It is a brilliant thing to go back to action. It's my love. I'VE BEEN on this industry as a result of action. I'VE tournaments of action. I'VE my very own personal gyms. Action is what I'M. This is because of action that i'm here," said the 45-year-old martial arts expert.

Over the years, the genre of action have been mixed with comedy and successfully presented to the audience through hit films like "Dabangg", "Ready" and "Rowdy Rathore".

Akshay says today's audience is keen to look at over-the-top action movies.

"Audience wants this from me. They would like over-the-top action (movies). These are their demands and we need to try to give it to them. The movies are made for everyone. Not just masses but classes also love this," he said.

He added that now the overseas audience desires to see one actor to be a master of all - if it is action or comedy. The past formula of getting a seperate comedian alongside an actor in a movie is long gone.

"Only action doesn't work in overseas. But if you join it with comedy, it really works. People want their actors to do comedy too. They do not want any comedians next to the actor. They would like one solo hero and wish to peer everything in him," he said.

Salman Khan to shoot in London for next with a whopping sum of Rs. 150 crore

By Hindustan Times

Over the past few years, Salman Khan has turned several places into veritable battle fields - Cuba and Dublin for Ek Tha Tiger; and closer home, north India's hinterlands for the Dabangg series; and the streets of Mumbai for Wanted (2008). Now, the most recent destination is London, way to producer
Sajid Nadiadwala's directorial debut, Kick.

Sajid's love for London as a location is easily known, together with his last two productions - Housefull (2010) and Housefull 2 - shot there. Now, he's prepared to shoot Kick, besides the following Housefull installment, there. "I REALLY LIKE shooting in London. The truth that I'M back to shoot a 3rd and a fourth film here's proof of that," he says.

Other information about the film are yet to be revealed, and all Sajid says in jest is, "I wish they reduce the pound-to-rupee conversion rates!" Money, however, hardly appears to be a priority for the film that's more likely to go at the floors next year. It has been learnt that the combined budget for Kick and Housefull 3 is around £35 million, which roughly converted, is around Rs. 300 crores.

What's also interesting is that till last year, South Korea was the rumoured shooting location for Kick. An insider says, "WE ARE NOT sure about Korea, but Sajid wants a swanky search for the film. That's why he opted for London."

After finalising his location, Nadiadwala is now engaged on the script - together with his team of writers led by Chetan Bhagat - in a way so that you can do justice to London. "He desires to make Kick a movie that no person would expect from Salman. He also wants state-of-the-art action sequences," adds the insider. That's why he roped in international stunt directors Philippe Guégan and Spiro Razatos, as we reported earlier.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali bans cell phones on film sets

By Hindustan Times

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a person with an overly strict plan. After images from the sets of his tentatively titled film, Ram Leela were leaked, the furious filmmaker made a rule and was very firm to enforce it.

A source with regards to the film reveals, “The undeniable fact that the photographs were leaked didn’t go down too well with Sanjay. Though the pictures weren’t very clear, he was angry because he doesn’t want anyone to grasp what the set looks as if or about everything that he has planned for the film.” And it’s for a similar reason, the source says, that Bhansali has banned using mobile phones at the sets.

“Sanjay has asked his entire unit, including the lead actors, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, not to use their mobiles while shooting. He doesn't want another fiasco and has made it clear that whoever enters the sets should switch off their phones. He does it himself now, that's why he’s unavailable among the times,” the source says.

Recently, even Milan Luthria had banned the usage of phones to circumvent photo leaks at the sets of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2, in Oman.
