Those who felt that actor Shah Rukh didn’t support Priyanka Chopra when she was cornered by sections of Bollywood following their alleged affair, can take heart. At a up to date event SRK not just defended Priyanka but admitted that she was treated unfairly. The actor was chatting with CNN IBN
recently when he said, "(I BELIEVE) extremely sorry, for she (Priyanka) wasn’t shown the dignity I show her, or other women. Priyanka Chopra is likely one of the closest friends that I have, she may be very just about my heart, and always will be."
A fan of Priyanka who was present on the meet cut a CD of the interview and sent it to Priyanka, who's currently busy shooting for Zanjeer in Hyderabad.
"She was touched by the fan’s gesture," said a source with regards to her.
While saying that Priyanka was not shown respect, SRK will have been regarding a tweet by his friend, filmmaker Karan Johar, wherein he had taken on Priyanka following an article, that quoted an anonymous friend of Priyanka’s saying that if women are insecure about their relationships with their husbands, they need to sort it out with them.
The article also mentioned a formidable producer-director who was being unkind to PeeCee behind her back. "Using their hired PR machinery and hiding behind so called 'friends' to get news into tabloids is nothing but spineless and lame!!!" Karan had tweeted.
However, later the 2 sorted their differences amicably.
