You can shoot for Kailasa's tracks!

By Hindustan Times

Mumbai, Feb. 27 -- Singer Kailash Kher and his band, Kailasa enthralled Mumbaikars with a scintillating concert this weekend. The show, which was a tribute to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, saw the 'Allah ke bandey...' singer belt out popular songs of the world-renowned Pakistani musician, including 'Tere bin nahi lagda dil mera dholna..' and 'Kinna sona...'.

Kher, who's known to talk together with his audience between songs, admits that sharing experiences with them makes it a more personal experience for him. He explains, "In India, it is rather rare that individuals pay R3,000 for a concert. So, it feels good to grasp that you've got true fans within the audience, which makes sharing personal trivia much more of a private experience."

Recently, he had posted on his fan page, requesting people to create videos of songs from his album at no cost. "I need to make videos of all songs from Kailasa's album, Rangeele. I'M quite proud of the response my request has received. While videos of 3 songs have already been made, the fourth is on its way. It's being made by students from a movie institute as a diploma project," he says, adding, "WE CAN soon launch a competition on our Facebook page, where people may be asked to make videos of the songs 'Katha gaan...' and 'Ujaale baant lo...'.

The one who receives the utmost 'likes' would be the official video for that song." The singer, who has sung for upcoming films Agent Vinod, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum and Prakash Jha's Chakravyuh, may be travelling to Pakistan and Bangladesh with the band next month. He also plans to move for a world tour with Kailasa in April.

Ask him if there are any plans to collaborate with any international artiste, and he says, "Collaboration requires a large number of time and commitment. I'm afraid I HAVEN'T GOT that sort of time at this time. I'll do this when the time is right."
