How have things changed throughout the Kapoor household after your success?
Both Anil and Sanju chachu (Sanjay Kapoor) tease me saying, ‘Arrey, you could have become a celebrity now. You don’t have time (for us).’
And your cousins — Sonam and Rhea?
They do it too. Of late, I haven’t had much time to hang around with them. Earlier, I used to make fun of Sonam, but now I understand her dilemma. I MIGHT tease her that she was only concerned about looking good always. But now I DO KNOW what it seems like. They're all more than happy for me.
How close are you to Anil Kapoor?
I admire him. Anil chachu has always been one step sooner than everyone else. A COUPLE OF days ago, he came back (from shooting) and was telling me, ‘You look so good.’ So I said, ‘Chachu, I DO KNOW you assert that so I WILL BE ABLE TO inform you that you're looking better than me.’ And he started laughing.
Are you in contact with Harsh (Anil’s son) who's assisting Anurag Kashyap in Bombay Velvet?
Yes, I'M. He has just get back from America and is enjoying his free time for now. But he's waiting for working with Anurag. He loves that sort of cinema — the radical zone. I'M really happy that Harsh has chosen a director, who has a mind of his own to make a special film, yet one with a pan-India appeal. While you work with people you aspire to be like, you be aware of them. He'll be capable to hone his skills and craft of whatever he desires to eventually become — actor, writer or director.
Recently, you could have undergone some tough times. How has your loved ones helped you?
The better part of getting your loved ones members within the industry is they are your biggest supporters. Sonam went all out to support me in the course of the making of the film and later in addition. The type of help I got from her, Rhea, my sister and all my cousins, made me realise that your loved ones helps you thru good, in addition to bad, times. I went through a foul phase at a time when my career was also commencing. I remember the emotional strength that was provided to me by my family. They aren’t judgmental. Earlier, I MIGHT have time for them but today I'M busy, but they won’t hold a grudge against me on account of that.
And lastly, are you in talks with Rhea about her next, Herogiri?
I am speaking to her about life and food (laughs). But we don’t discuss what she is operating on. There was no serious discussion with me yet. I'LL take it up with her, since she isn’t telling me enough.
