Abhishek Kapoor to bring out a book on photographs of Gujarat

By Hindustan Times

Abhishek Kapoor, or Gattu, because the industry refers to him, seems to have talents that transcend directorial skills. While travelling through Gujarat for his upcoming film, Kai Po Che, Abhishek shot photographs which are now set to be compiled right into a coffee table book.

A source says, “Abhishek and his team had a unprecedented journey while shooting through Gujarat. They’ve be capable of capture the state in a brand new way (within the film). What you will find is the state as seen throughout the eyes of Abhishek, and people of the 3 friends within the film, played by Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and Raj Kumar. The pictures that he’s shot only further show how beautiful the landscape is.”

The makers are currently in talks with publishers. The book, authored by Abhishek, might be a photograph book with text annotations to every picture. The source adds, “The plan is to release the book across India, but only after the film hits theatres after February next year.”

It seems that the speculation of the book came to the team of Kai Po Che only once they had completed shooting for the film. The source says, “They had clicked many images, and while facing them, they realised what a limiteless collection that they had. Because Gujarat plays such crucial part within the film, they felt this was methods to show their appreciation towards the state.”
