Sunidhi dislikes tagging songs as item numbers

By Hindustan Times

Singer Sunidhi Chauhan, who has crooned numerous hit item numbers like Sheila Ki Jawaani, Dekh Le, Mehboob Mere, Beedi and lots of more, refuses to name these item songs. "Whatever you call them, every song has it's own charm. I DO NOT like calling them item songs but they're special songs.
They are treated specially, they have got extra attention and they're picturised in a unique way. So, I LOVE being associated to any special song," the 28-year-old said here Monday while recording for a song for the film Yeh Saali Khushi.

The music of Yeh Saali Khushi have been composed by brothers Siddharth and Sangeet Haldipur, who had also composed two songs Aa Zara and Tujhko bhulana for Murder 2.

Sunidhi, who was nominated for the Apsara award for best female playback singer for the song Aa Zara, is all praise for Siddharth and Sangeet.

"Everyone has heard Aa Zara and once I opt for stage shows and the audience demand for the song and hear it patiently and likewise sing with me, then I AM GETTING to grasp how much people have appreciated the song," said Sunidhi.

"It's unfortunate that many of us do not know that it's Sangeet and Siddharth who've composed the song. Such talent should pop out and those should recognise them," she added.

While Sangeet Haldipur was a member of the band Aasma, Siddharth was part of the famous boy band Band of Boys.
