Chennai Express to be shot in October

By Hindustan Times

There’ll be an action film with Ajay Devgn before Rohit Shetty partners with Karan Johar.

"Shah Rukh (Khan) and that i met and decided to do a movie together. Chennai Express just happened, but once the scoop was out, there has been such a lot hype surrounding it. It’s only one film with Shah Rukh and then I CAN do an action film with Ajay (Devgan) which may be Singham 2 or something else. We're still engaged on the script,” says Rohit Shetty

The SRK starrer is a journey movie that starts on a train. However it is unlikely to be shot in Chennai. Rohit however plans shoot down South, and once Bol Bachchan releases on July 9, he's going to go on a reccy to finalise the locations. The film will roll in October.

“Chennai Express has an enormous ensemble cast, and that i will rope in actors from the South film industry. That’ll be something new for Hindi film audiences. Shah Rukh and that i will meet after the IPL and finalise the feminine lead,” he says.

After the Ajay punch’em dhamaka, Rohit gets cracking on a Dharma production. Karan Johar and he joined hands recently and Rohit promises a hardcrore masala movie. Kajol have been an essential component of Karan’s banner but Ajay has done just one horror film for him, Kaal (2005).

Can Rohit pull off a casting coup by roping in Ajay and Kajol for this Dharma co-production? He smiles, “You never know, anything is feasible. However it is early days yet; I MUST wrap up two movies before I start work in this one.”

Rohit played himself in a unique appearance in Ekta Kapoor’s sequel Kya Super Kool Hain Hum, with Tusshar Kapoor, a struggling actor within the film, seeking to woo him at a celebration with a take-off on his mute Lucky from the Golmaal series. “It was strange to look a personality you’ve created happen in another film to boost a couple of laughs. For me, facing the camera was no big deal because I just needed to be Rohit Shetty. It was nothing different from the television shows I'VE come on,” he points out.

About the established order of Golmaal 4, he says, “It could take a few years. We haven’t get a hold of the appropriate script yet. I’d rather look ahead to a worthy successor, meanwhile, there’s Bol Bachchan.”
