Apparently on bad terms with one another for the last two years, actor Ajay Devgn and filmmaker Prakash Jha appear to have put aside their differences and can be working together in two movies soon — a sequel to Gangaajal (2003) and Jha’s next film, Satyagrah.
“I will start Gangaajal 2 next year after wrapping up Satyagrah,” says Jha. “I’ve been desirous to take the emblem (of Gangaajal) forward for a very long time. Right now, I'M busy with Chakravyuh, so that it will be completed in about 10 days.”
The actor and filmmaker reportedly fell out over Devgn’s role within the film Raajneeti (2010). Though the film was a hit, the actor was said to be displeased with the way in which his role had turned out. And last year, when he dropped out of Jha’s Aarakshan on the last minute, there have been rumours of a massive rift between the two.
But that seems to has been resolved this year, in step with an insider as regards to the filmmaker. “Jha sir is operating on part two of Gangaajal, that is still within the scripting stages,” says the insider. “It will probably go at the floors a while next year. We don’t know the main points of the script, but just like the first, the second one part can also be set in Bihar.”
Apparently, Jha has already narrated the elemental storyline to Ajay who's believed to have agreed to do it in principle. If all goes well, work at the sequel will start by mid-2013.
On the opposite hand, work on Satyagrah, which also features Amitabh Bachchan, will probably begin in December 2012, with Devgn playing the lead, says the insider. Jha desires to shoot in winter, and Devgn will even have wrapped up Sajid Khan’s forthcoming Himmatwala by that time.
