Pooja Bhatt blasts Censor Board's paranoia!

By Hindustan Times

Jism 2 director Pooja Bhatt is upset with Censor Board for giving A-certificate to the song promo of her upcoming Sunny Leone starrer. The director has put her foot down and refused to cut the trailer for television viewing. Instead she'll go ahead with the uncensored song on internet.

"I won't pare my promos all the way down to fit the Censor board's paranoia post The Dirty Picture. Will release what can't be adulterated on the web and only release the promos of these songs on TV which can be traditional and sanitized-albeit extremely melodious," Pooja told Hindustantimes.com.

And what in regards to the promo that was as a result of release on June 29? "The promo of the Jism 2 theme song that was because of go on air on June 29th will now be released on the web at the same day in its uncensored form."

The actor-turned-director is perturbed with the board's approach towards television promos. "THEY SHOULD give us clear directives. One sees every kind of double entendre etc dished out to us under the guise of 'family entertainers' while any iota of sensuality geared toward the thinking, passionate, adult Indian seems to make most uncomfortable. It sort of feels like we only accept sex whether it is portrayed in a vulgar manner in order that we will 'laugh' it off. Anything real makes us uncomfortable! Why I PONDER? As it reveals 'us' to ourselves?"

Well, that is the question Censor Board must answer.

Pooja Bhatt's tweets at the issue.

@PoojaB1972: First music promo for #Jism2 have been given an 'A' certificate. And this was what possible call a very watered down version.

@PoojaB1972: So the deal is this-You can't buy spots on TV for a promo with an 'A' certificate. Which basically means you cannot publicize your music!

@PoojaB1972: So will I pare down the promo of #Jism2 to assuage the censors? Or release it on the net & push forward a more sanitized song on TV?

@PoojaB1972: Absolutely REFUSE to pare my scheduled trailer all the way down to pander to an over cautious Censor board. Will release promo on the web instead.

@PoojaB1972: Since we're going the web way, you'll see an uncensored version! "INDIVIDUALS WHO get easily shocked need to be shocked more often" Mae West

@PoojaB1972: So we've decided to throw all caution to the winds & go ahead and release our first music promo on June 29'TH as scheduled over the INTERNET
