AR Rahman to rock London Olympics!

After teaming up for films, music composer AR Rahman and Hollywood filmmaker Danny Boyle will interact again. This time, to compose part of the score for the outlet ceremony of London Olympics 2012 (July 27-August 12). Boyle, who's directing the ceremony, has worked with Rahman in films corresponding to Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours.

“I am doing a track for him (Boyle) for the Olympics. It’s one of the crucial songs for the hole ceremony. It’s a secret,” Rahman was quoted as saying. After we contacted him for details, Rahman refused to speak about the score, saying that it's in its early stage.

Apart from Rahman, Indian music composer Ilayaraja’s composition too could be part of the inaugural programme. His Tamil song, Naanthaan Ungappanda, from Kamal Hassan’s 1980 film Ram Lakshman, has made it to the playlist.

Indian celebrities expected to wait the Olympics are filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and actors Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan. “Farhan is finalising his trip as per the schedule of the important thing athletic contests during which India is participating,” says a source.
