Ajay-Kajol yet again!

By Hindustan Times

Ajay Devgn and Kajol can be back together at the screen soon. The couple was approached by the state government for his or her Save the woman Child campaign and can appear in a two-and-a-half minute film that rolls next month. “The idea is to spread awareness against female foeticide.
The film will play within theatres and hopefully on TV too,” says Ajay.

Ajay says he can understand people in the last century believing a lady child to be a financial burden since a son earned money for the family while a daughter was married off.

“But today, women don't seem to be only working. Many continue to appear after their ageing parents even after marriage, while the sons move away,” he says.

The actors, who've a nine-year-old daughter, Nysa, won't limit the endeavour to only shooting the film, but will spread awareness through other media-related activity.

“The idea is not only for individuals to hear us, but additionally to lead them to take into account that such atrocities are illogical in a rustic where the devi is worshipped. I USED TO BE shocked by the research findings that proved that doctors are involved too. There’s a right away wish to change the mindset,” he says.

Quiz him on whether he and Kajol will carry the message forward through other campaigns and he says, For a cause like this, we’ll be there.

State health minister Suresh Shetty confirmed the news, saying, Yes, Ajay and Kajol are doing the film.

Seventeen years ago, Ajay and Kajol were first seen on screen in two action films — Hulchul and Gundaraj — which released in quick succession. Two years ago, Kajol partnered Ajay in Toonpur Ka Superhero.

After Chennai Express, Rohit Shetty will direct another action film with Ajay. Will Kajol be a part of it?

Ajay says, “Rohit continues to be engaged on the script, only after it's locked are we able to start casting. We don’t write films with stars in mind.”
