His previous few releases haven't done well at box office, but Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan says one has to cope with failures and move on as nobody desires to make an unsuccessful film.
His last release (in January) was Abbas-Mustan's Players, an official remake of Hollywood crime thriller The Italian Job. Despite heavy promotion and an ensemble star cast, Players, one of the vital anticipated films of 2012, failed on the box office.
"I think it's important to handle it (flops). Thankfully, you stick with it working. It's never nice to speak about it...it is rarely a nice experience. Nobody desires to make an unsuccessful film. Everybody works hard to make a movie successful," Abhishek told PTI.
"As an actor I made a conscious decision that I DO NOT want any excuses (for films not doing well). I DO NOT need to say the editor didn't edit it properly or this or that person didn't do their work properly. I DO NOT wish to point fingers at anybody. I WOULD LIKE complete responsibility by saying that I did everything that I'LL do," he maintained.
The Junior Bachchan has delivered plenty of flops within the recent past, including Farhan Akhtar's home production Game, Ashutosh Gowariker's Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey, Mani Ratnam's Raavan, Goldie Behl's Drona, Aditya Chopra's Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, among others.
However, his performance in films like Paa, Dhoom series, Guru, Sarkar and Dostana has been appreciated.
Asked if he has got his due as an actor, the 36-year-old, who made his Bollywood debut in 2000, said, "I BELIEVE I USED TO BE given an excessive amount of due. I BELIEVE people think I'M a more robust actor than actually I'M. I FEEL I'VE lot more to do and improve. I FEEL individuals are too kind to me."
