Akshay Kumar not 'Rowdy' in real life

By Hindustan Times

After tasting success together with his latest action packed film Rowdy Rathore, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is back to his clean-shaven, gentlemanly image and says he doesn't love to be related to the word 'rowdy' in real life.

"Real life is different than reel life. In real life I'M not a puppet as I'M in reel life. I'M a thoroughly different person in real life. Kicks and punches are the reel life stuff. I PONDER why the word 'rowdy' is getting used for me," said Akshay, who was within the capital last night to wait Aaj Tak Care awards.

Dressed in a chequered white shirt and a format suit, the 44-year-old said he was happy to look his film do well on the box office. Akshay, who's often referred to as the Khiladi of Bollywood for his action roles within the 90's said that though his initial years within the industry were very tough, he's happy to have come so far.

"My initial years in Bollywood was very tough. I needed to struggle so much. I always believed God was with me. I never deviated but rather involved in my efforts," he said. Though the actor didn't divulge much about his upcoming films, he said that his forthcoming film Khiladi 786 is an exhilarating project and he's glad to be a part of it. "I FEEL Khiladi 786 is without doubt one of the important assignments of my life," he said. When asked if he wish to enter the sphere of politics ever, Akshay said, "If I become a politician, I MIGHT definitely do something for sports."
