Chillar Party sequel on, co-director out!

By Hindustan Times

Last year, Chillar Party created immense buzz — partly way to co-producer Salman Khan — when it won a countrywide Award for the most productive Children’s Film. Now, the film’s producers have finally decided to move ahead with the sequel, but without one of the crucial co-directors, Vikas Bahl. An industry
insider confirms, “The makers are already engaged on the script. But since Vikas is busy with several other things, including his solo directorial debut (Queen), he won’t be involved. The sequel is actually in motion, but right now, it’s too early for other details.”

Interestingly, Salman — who backed the film under his banner, Salman Khan Being Human Productions — may be involved with the sequel too.

“It’s very on the subject of Salman’s heart. Once the script is ready, the makers will take the general draft to him for an approval of sorts,” says the insider. When contacted, Vikas confirms that he's not a part of the second one film: “Personally, IT'S NOT THAT I AM ready with the script, so I won’t be attached. Plus I'LL BE busy with Queen. I TRULY don’t know whether UTV goes ahead with the sequel or if Nitesh (Tiwari, co-director) is directing it.”

Although it isn't clear whether Nitesh will direct the film, it's believed that he has bagged the deal.

Of late, quite a few rumours was doing the rounds with regards to the sequel. One report stated that since UTV is that specialize in other projects, Salman has decided to head ahead with the sequel, while another one suggested that the film have been placed on hold since all eight children from the solid have outgrown the script.

Vikas, on his part, remains to be engaged on the script of his next, that's apparently a chick flick. It stars Kangana Ranaut within the lead role of a Delhi girl from Lajpat Nagar. Shooting is ready to start out after August.
