When it involves being fit, Deepika Padukone appears to be breaking all records in Bollywood. The actor recently confessed jumping out of airplanes and swimming with sharks throughout the shoot of director Homi Adajania’s film, Cocktail, in Cape Town, South Africa. The five-foot-nine inch tall actor says she’s at her fittest together with her current weight — 60kgs.
“Once the shoot was over, we (Homi and co-actor Diana Penty) would take off to the village of Gansbaai to swim with great white sharks. We also jumped out of airplanes, thrice. I wouldn’t was in a position to do any of this if I weren’t fit and healthy,” says Deepika, 26.
“I’m definitely looking my best now,” she says, in an interview to Vogue India. “While I FEEL that after you're within the glamour industry, you need to look your best, I also believe being skinny isn't hot and happening. Fitness will depend on the fat percentage and never bodyweight. Quite a lot of skinny people have a high fat percentage. That’s unhealthy,” she says.
It’s not only gymming that’s keeping Deepika fit, it’s dancing too. She apparently danced all night at filmmaker Karan Johar’s recent party. ‘Deepika just wouldn’t get off the dance floor,” Johar said in an interview.
