Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto has praised Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor for standing tall in an industry ruled by leading men.
Kareena has reportedly been paid Rs. 8 crore for director Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine, the top that has ever been paid to any leading lady within the history of Bollywood. The actor has also starred in four films that experience grossed over 100 crore on the domestic box office in not up to 2 years.
"Now, it kind of feels to me, even taking Indian cinema in consideration, I THINK like this year we've more or less experienced a shift in humanity. In India, actually, there was a big disparity in how much a feminine and male actor gets paid, but this year, one actress changed all that," Pinto told Flaunt magazine while crediting Kareena for her feat.
The 27-year-old Indian beauty also turned retro for a photograph spread in a magazine, wherein she was photographed in a brief raven-haired wig within the 1950s inspired glamorous shoot. The spread have been titled Freida Pinto Is Museum Quality Beautiful.
In one shot, the actor have been styled in an corseted Bottega Veneta dress in a country shade of emerald. In another shot, she is wearing a studded Versace bustier and matching skinny jeans from the luxurious label.
