I went through a large number of frustration: Sharman Joshi

By Hindustan Times

He did two films — Toh Baat Pakki! and Allah Ke Banday — since his blockbuster hit, 3 Idiots in 2009, but both proved to be duds. Actor Sharman Joshi, who's now resurfacing with director Rajesh Mapuskar’s debut film, Ferrari Ki Sawaari, puts his heart out in regards to the long impending wait.

"I went through all of the emotions. It was frustrating, tiring, exhausting. Factors of fear came in. It were about two-and-half years," the 33-year-old told us during his visit to the Capital recently.

"But you must maintain them if you're committed to something. It requires patience. I USED TO BE not willing to short sell myself. I USED TO BE on the lookout for the proper of labor that might excite me. Quality work takes time. IT'S NOT THAT I AM here to place out a barrage of movies," he added.

Perhaps the patience paid off as he got a solo return in his favourite producer, Vidhu Vinod Chopra's film. But Joshi reveals even that didn’t come easy. “I needed to convince the director that I WILL BE ABLE TO pull of the role (of a single parent), as I DO NOT seem like a father in any respect. It was very challenging for me as an actor”.

Something thrilling that happened to him with the film was the danger to get behind the wheel of a Ferrari. And the quirky actor went directly to bamboozle us by saying that he has "already placed the order for a Ferrari Modena 360". While we quickly put it to paper, he immediately stopped us and said, "Hey I USED TO BE just kidding. Hope you do not mind? But maybe someday, I possibly will." And there we sat in denial, smiling on the cost of our headline.
