Imran Khan promotes video piracy in his next!

By Hindustan Times

After playing such diverse roles as a city slicker in Delhi Belly (2011) and action hero in Luck (2009), Imran Khan is ready to essay the a part of a UP boy in his next film. After a chain of conflicting reports, the actor is finally confirmed to star in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Milan Talkies.

Produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures, the film revolves around a small-town cinema hall where Imran’s character is an employee. He moonlights as a movie pirate by shooting illegal videos of the blockbusters being screened there.

“Yes, Imran is doing the film. And i'm talking about Imran Khan, not Emraan Hashmi,” says director Tigmanshu Dhulia, with fun. “We will start shooting around January 2013. Since I'M busy wrapping up Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster 2 (SBAG2) right now, I won’t be capable to give out too many details. However the film may be very much on.” A COUPLE OF weeks ago, Tigmanshu had stated: “Contrary to news reports, I haven’t signed Imran yet.

Nor have I had meetings with him for the project in question.” Later, reports claimed that the film was placed on the back burner for the reason that dates Imran had allotted to Milan Talkies were getting used for filming Balaji’s other big project, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2. Interestingly, Milan Talkies can be Imran’s second film — after Vishal Bhardwaj’s Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola (MKBKM) — that’s set in a small town. MKBKM, which features Anushka Sharma as Imran’s co-star, will see Aamir Khan’s nephew play the a part of a normal Haryanvi boy.

To organize for the part, the young actor was training within the language and diction for a couple of months now. “Once Tigmanshu is back (after he has finished wrapping up the continuing schedule of SBAG2), he's going to have a couple of meetings with Imran and Balaji’s production team. By that time, Imran may even have wrapped up an incredible chunk of Vishal’s film. Since Tigmanshu’s movie involves a large number of pre-production work and detailing, they don’t wish to rush into it,” says an insider with reference to the director.
