Need to join no less than 10 great films: Sharman Joshi

By Hindustan Times

Ready along with his first solo hero movie Ferrari Ki Sawaari, Sharman Joshi says he is not within the industry to prove anything to anybody and is asking at being a part of quality cinema with an oeuvre of 10 great films. "I'M REALLY NOT here to prove anything to anyone with the exception of myself. I NEED to be part of
great cinema. I WOULD LIKE to join minimum 10 great films in my career as an actor. I FEEL Ferrari Ki Sawaari goes to be certainly one of those," Sharman told IANS in an interview.

The actor, who have been a part of ensemble cast in successful films like Golmaal and three Idiots, believes he's here to play a protracted innings. "I'M here for the long run, not a brief run - 30-40 years is the minimum you ought to expect out of me. Do not be concerned there's plenty more to look from me. You'll possibly get bored of seeing me for the following 30-40 years." Filmmakers are experimenting a lot, he said, adding that audiences were smart and their capability to cope with something new should not be doubted.

"The audiences today are very quick and smart. Simply by seeing promotion on television, they know what films they need to see. I never had any doubt about them being prepared for such films. Those are the fears within the mind of the filmmaker." "I BELIEVE audiences are extremely mature. They're able to provide you with love and respect for any genre in the event you make a movie with numerous conviction, love and faith. If at any point any film has failed, it isn't for the reason that audience has not got it, it's as a result of loss of good storytelling," he added.

In the industry for just about a decade and with greater than a dozen films in his kitty, the actor says that he has dabbled in everything, from comedy to serious roles, and has managed "to maintain his journey interesting for himself". "Sometimes the flicks don't work well, regardless of how hard you are attempting. Sometimes you aren't getting it right. But as a way to keep it exciting and clear of the usual, I'M in no hurry to make the audiences believe that i'm in a position to something.

"I am going to take my time. Do the genres and characters I LOVE to do, but on the same time, it needs to be with the precise script," he added. Asked if he was excited or nervous about Ferrari Ki Sawaari, Sharman said it was a mixed feeling. "I'M very sad. I'M almost going right into a depression now because my wonderful film and its journey is coming to an end. The film goes to be out for the folk now at the 15th of June; so I'M more than happy and pleased about it."

Ferrari Ki Sawaari, directed by debutant Rajesh Mapuskar, is ready a father's determination to fulfil his son's wish, also stars Boman Irani. After Ferrari Ki Sawaari, Sharman will start working for Tanuja Chandra's directorial project. Similar to Ferrari..., this one can be produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
