Actor Omi Vaidya, popularly referred to as Chatur of three Idiots, is about to wield the megaphone for a psychological thriller and says he may act in it. "I'M directing a psychological thriller and it is very different than what I'VE done to this point. It is very exciting but I WILL NOT let you know anything about it because I DO NOT wish to give it (concept) away," Omi told IANS.
Omi refuses to expose details, but says it'll have some known names within the cast. "IT WILL BE an Indie film and has got some big names attached to it. I WILL NOT really say those names at the moment... hopefully, will probably be good and all of you'll enjoy it. I'D act within the film too," he said.
This isn't the first time that he's directing. He has, previously helmed little known films like Out Of Time and Desert Rose.
Omi made his Bollywood debut with Rajkumar Hirani's blockbuster 3 Idiots. He was later seen in films like Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, Desi Boyz, Players and Jodi Breakers.
The 30-year-old revealed he came to Bollywood from the united states with an ambition to direct, but ended up being an actor. "I came to Bollywood with an concept to direct. I went to film school in Big apple University, it just happened that I BEGAN acting," he said.
The actor, who's here for the three-day cine extravaganza, 13th International Indian Film Academy weekend and awards, feels directing is more difficult than acting.
"I care to do different genres. If you find yourself acting, you might be sitting within the vanity van for an entire day and also you act for just 5-10 minutes and while you direct you're working all day, so directing is way tougher than acting," he said. "I'll keep acting, I'M doing more projects but this (psychological thriller) is simply a little bit pet project that I WISHED to do for myself," he added.
