Riteish suggested hair makeover for Genelia

By Hindustan Times

There's a different cause of actress Genelia D'Souza's latest short hairdo. It was her husband, actor Riteish Deshmukh's idea, and Genelia was considering it because she feels he has a perfect sense of fashion. "Riteish has an ideal sense of style, needless to say. Actually, it was Riteish's idea and he had for long asked me why I DO NOT try going short," the 24-year-old said at an event here Monday.

The makeover is something she couldn't have experimented with while filming a movie.

"Normally, as a result of continuity issues, you aren't getting the chance to take a look at a unique style. I ASSUMED there's a break after marriage so let me do something that's different and new," added Genelia, who married Riteish in February.

Talking about her style statement, she said that since her college days, she loves street fashion.

"I have no idea what is the definition of classy is, but what I'VE always enjoyed is being creative in my very own space. In college, I used to have my entire hand full of friendship bands and that was my style statement, be it with any outfit.

"They were of various colours and looked really cool," said Genelia, who played a school girl within the 2008-hit Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na.

"Then when my jeans would fade away, I'D cut them off and use them as shorts or (wore) shirts tied up. So I REALLY LIKE that sort of fashion and that i would say I enjoy street style more when it's about casual dressing," she added.
