She took the audience without warning appearing in 7 Khoon Maaf and singer Usha Uthup says she is asking forward to a few meaty roles in Bollywood now.
The 64-year-old singer played a devoted help to Priyanka Chopra's character within the film directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. She even lent her voice to
the hit song Darling within the film. "I'M looking forward to good roles, in search of something meaty. Meanwhile I'VE done a little acting in Kerala and Bengal. I'M HOPING I AM GETTING some offers in Bollywood, another good role like I did in 7 Khoon Maaf," Usha told PTI.
She is nominated within the best playback singer category alongwith Rekha Bhardwaj for the track Darling on the upcoming IIFA awards. The song has already got her a Filmfare award this year. "I'M HOPING I win the IIFA award too," said Usha.
Besides being nominated, the singer goes to accomplish on the IIFA Rocks in Singapore on June 8, the night before the awards ceremony. She's going to be performing in collaboration with Leslie Lewis and Hariharan to mark 100 years of Indian Cinema.
"The combination of me, Hariharan and Leslie Lewis is astounding. Who would imagine the 3 folks teaming up? Our performance is a tribute to 100 years of Indian Cinema. It has been an actual tough call shortlisting songs from such a lot of decades and from among hundreds of hit tracks," she said.
This is the primary time she can be collaborating professionally with Lewis and Hariharan. Usha says she is asking forward to the performance as they've been friends for years.
