No friction with Priyanka Chopra, says KJo

By Hindustan Times

Today he turns 40, but Karan Johar’s big birthday bash was making headlines even before he hit this new age bracket. Especially for Priyanka Chopra’s rumoured exclusion— after a much-publicised tweet — from the guest list. However, Karan isn’t amused with such talk.

“First of all, who said PC wasn’t invited? I never commented. She has always been in this (guest list). I'VE had an overly warm and beautiful professional equation with Priyanka. She may be very much at the list,” says the filmmaker, clarifying that PC got the invite “quite late”.

But didn’t he hit out at her on his Twitter page after her tabloid interview? “When you switch 40, the primary sign of hitting that age bracket is gaining maturity and ironing out issues to your life. I'VE realised that it’s the one method to live life,” explains the Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu producer.

KJo and PC had their alleged fallout a couple of weeks ago when PC indirectly lashed out at him in an interview. Later, Karan hit back — without naming her — on his Twitter handle.

“We have worked together in Dostana (2008) and Agneepath (2012), two standing pieces that experience done really well for us. So, there’s no the reason for this is that anything should change now or within the future,” he adds.

But what gets Karan excited is his much-talked-about party at Taj Lands End today. “I always desired to host one of these bash. For me, there hasn't ever been any huge celebration like a marriage or something where you have got your entire family members and friends under one roof,” he chuckles, adding he has no idea what party planner and designer Manish Malhotra has done for the party. “I am just waiting to be surprised,” he laughs.

What concerning the so-called Salman-SRK clash at his party (although Salman is now in another country?) “I have invited everyone with numerous love and respect and i'm sure people will include the similar emotions,” says Karan, whose friends from places like London, New York, Dubai and New Delhi have flown in to join the bash. “It may be a room stuffed with love,” he says.
