Aamir Khan to handle the Parliament

Trust Aamir Khan to move where no other Bollywood star has. As his show Satyamev Jayate makes waves, the 47-year-old has now become the primary non-MP Bollywood actor to be invited to the Indian Parliament.

Soon after his TV show ruffled feathers with after an episode coping with malpractices in medical profession; the actor has received a call for participation to the Sansad Bhavan. Aamir and his creative team could be there on Thursday to present their views relating to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) within the pharmaceutical sector. “It’s a question of serious pride,” says an insider. Apparently, the top of the parliamentary committee, Shanta Kumar has invited Aamir to the Parliament. “The basic idea is to share the research in the case of medicines.

Aamir is personally working hard on it,” reveals the insider. Although Aamir remained unavailable for a comment, his official spokesperson confirms: “Yes, Aamir was invited and he could be going there on Thursday.” Minister of state for parliamentary affairs, Rajeev Shukla, however, says he's ignorant of one of these development. “I am not conscious about Aamir being given the sort of permission. It isn't easy.”

The only other actors who tried to get inside Parliament but could only manage getting till the gates are Emraan Hashmi for a film’s promotion and Rakhi Sawant, who harbours political aspirations.
