My responsibility towards audience has increased: Nawazuddin

By Hindustan Times

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has won accolades for his performance within the recent films Kahaani and Paan Singh Tomar, says he never expected to return this far. "Earlier, people took me for one scene or so but now filmmakers have started taking me more seriously. Also, my responsibility
towards my audience has increased. I MUST now live as much as the expectancies and never take in films for the greed of money," Nawazuddin Siddiqui told PTI.

"I must be careful. I WILL feel the pressure. But I WILL BE ABLE TO continue to work flat out. I BELIEVE I GET my due we now have. a suite of audience who really like our movies so much. There's demand for our more or less cinema. Cinema is improving and there's experimentation," he added.

From a small village in Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh to the Bollywood, Siddiqui has had quite a journey.

"I never expected I MIGHT reach this far. I'VE always all in favour of my work without reference to what the result could be. I never thought that I MIGHT be awarded best actor on the The big apple India Film Festival. But I'VE struggled a lot."

He might be seen in Anurag Kashyap's soon-to-release Gangs of Wasseypur. After that he has as many as nine films lined up for the release, including Aamir Khan starrer Talaash, Lunch Box alongside Irrfan Khan, Dekh Indian Circus, Patang, Liar Dice and Chittagong.
