Bollywood movies Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Aamir Khan's Dhobi Ghat and a documentary film could be screened on the 15th Shanghai International Film Festival that starts on June 16. "China is a booming marketplace for movies and is growing at a scorching pace. There's an increasing interest for
Indian content in lots of Asian markets like China, South Korea and Taiwan," Amrita Pandey, the manager director at Disney UTV, said in a press release issued here.
"At UTV, we send our movies to film festivals in our focus markets and the Shanghai International Film Festival is an ideal platform to showcase our movies and to get a possibility for 3 movies is a unprecedented honour," Amrita added.
Documentary film Bollywood: The best Love Story Ever Told, produced by UTV and Shekhar Kapur and directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Jeff Zimbalist, might be screened on the Shanghai film festival, the discharge said.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, produced by UTV and Dharma Productions and directed by Shakun Batra, is a light-hearted romantic-comedy film starring Imran and Kareena within the lead. The film was released on February 10 this year.
Dhobi Ghat was produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Reliance Entertainment and directed by Kiran Rao. The film released on January 21, 2011.
The three movies could be presented within the Panorama component of the festival.
